THERE IS NO PART OF THE WORLD WHERE THE DECEPTIVE MINISTRY OF THE ENEMY IS NOT BEEN SEEN. DECEPTION IS EVERYWHERE ON THE EARTH TODAY.
WE MUST CONTEND FOR THE FAITH THAT WAS HANDED TO THE SAINTS IN SCRIPTURES, NOT THE ONE PRACTISED TODAY.

Lord Jesus tonight we have come before you to give you the praise and glory. We ask that by your word tonight you will speak to each one of us, let your word transform our lives. Church Gist. Let your word conform our wills. Let your word enlighten our darkness. Let your word set us at liberty from every hold of sin. We give all the praise and glory to your name because we know it is done in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
Our prophetic theme for the month has been SANCTIFICATION SECURES DESTINY AND ETERNITY and our teaching for our Midweek services which we began in the Week of Emphasis has been PUTTING UP A FIGHT AGAINST THE FORCES OF UNGODLINESS. Life in the kingdom is described as warfare not fun fare. Matthew 11:12. 2 Corinthians 10:3. It is important to note that the battles of life are primarily spiritual. Ephesians 6:12. It is important to remember that behind the various agents of spiritual contention is the devil himself. That is our principal enemy. Church Gist. 1 Peter 5:8. It is also important to note that his intent is warring against every one of the people of God without exception. Revelation 12:17. It is also important to note and very vital that the fiercest of our spiritual battles is the battle against ungodliness. In Hebrews 12:1-4 the Bible paints a very gruesome picture. The battle with the greatest and fiercest contention is the battle against ungodliness.
This is important because you must understand that the core attribute of Satan is sin, in fact, he is called “the man of sin” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). His principal focus is to cripple man’s temporal and eternal destiny by sin. The principal agenda is to cripple man’s temporal and eternal destiny by sin. Church Gist. We are told in the book of Zechariah 3:1-5, that Joshua the priest was before the Lord with filthy garments and Satan was by his right hand resisting him. As far as Satan was concerned his principal focus was to ensure that this man’s temporal and eternal destiny was crippled by sin. Tonight whatever that filthy garment of the enemy is, it shall be taken off in the name of Jesus.
The principal weapon of the enemy is his subtlety that is why we must never take it for granted. 2 Corinthians 11:3. He is so gifted and wise at being subtle that the Bible says he deceived the whole world. Revelation 12:7. There is no part of the world where the deceptive ministry of the enemy is not been seen. Deception is everywhere on the earth today. That is why each one of us must ensure that according to scripture we are sober, we are vigilant to avoid the deception of the enemy so we don’t fall victim to any of his schemes. Church Gist. 2 Corinthians 11:2. He has various wiles, various devices, various schemes seeking to trap the redeemed. That is why God has been taking us this month through the various operations that we see the enemy trying to orchestrate so we can terminate them and walk free from the hold of the enemy. Tonight will be a night of rescue for every one of us. We have been trying to identify various forces behind sin and tonight we are going to look at two of them.
- The spirit of disobedience
Ephesians 2:1-2. So when you talk about the children of disobedience, there is a spirit at work in them. That is the spirit of disobedience and this is a very prevalent force at work in our world today everywhere you look. We live in a contemporary world that rests primarily on the pillar of freedom, that is one major thing you see today everywhere. People are running for freedom in its most authentic form, freedom is a work of the Spirit of God because wherever the Spirit of God is there is liberty. But as God’s servant will always say “liberty without limit is captivity without knowing”. We live in a world where people want to do anything at any time anyhow. A free-thinking world, a world without restraint. This is a very destructive manipulation of the spirit of disobedience. Jude 3-5, 8-13. That is a picture of a rebellious generation and that is the generation that we live in today. A generation that rebels against every form of authority. A generation that sees rules as opportunities to be broken. We must contend for the faith that was handed to the saints, not the one practised today. Church Gist. It is vital for us to understand that we live today in a day and age where the spirit of disobedience is having a field day.
Everywhere you look today you find people talking about the fact that they want to be free. “leave me alone, you can’t control my life. I want to be free”. But remember “liberty without limit is captivity without knowing”. That is the spirit of disobedience. Every time the spirit is at work it makes people go contrary to laws, they rebel naturally against authority. God’s word makes it very clear that the perils of these last days are going to be among other things products of the spirit of disobedience. Church Gist. 2 Timothy 3:1-2. So disobedience will be one of the sponsors of the perilous times in these last days. It is one of the forces that will provoke the forces of these last days. That is why you must ensure escape the hold of the operations of this spirit. I pray tonight that for anyone that is under the influence of the spirit of disobedience may tonight be for you your night of liberty.
This is so important. Romans 12:1-2. There is a way of God, there is a will of God, there is an agenda of God that we must align with, not everything goes. Our lives must be brought under the control of the fulcrum of God’s word. This is vital and important. Again, I pray that every operation of the spirit of disobedience, every operation of that force be destroyed In the name of Jesus. Church Gist. So there is the spirit of disobedience that programs men to rebel against authority, to reject instructions, laws and commandments. I see liberty coming our way in the name of Jesus.
- A lying spirit.
1 Kings 22:22-23. So there is what the Bible referred to as a lying spirit. A lying spirit influences men to lie with ease. If you see somebody operating under this spirit, he doesn’t struggle to lie. Any little thing, every circumstance has a response. There is a spirit at work, there is an operation from the realm of the spirit that makes manipulation easy for such an individual. They don’t struggle for it but tonight anyone under that filthy spirit, I see your liberty established in the name of Jesus. We live in a world where this is becoming prevalent, in fact, many people call lying smartness. They see it as intelligence. 1 Timothy 4:2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy, the word hypocrisy has to do with pretense. When we talk about lies, it is not just what is said. God weighs what we think, what we say and what we do. Our thoughts, our words and our actions carry weight before God. Jeremiah 17:10. Church Gist. God is interested in us internally, in our words and also in our actions. 1 Samuel 2:3. There are lies that are told in action, it is not in words. If I nod my head concerning what you are saying, it means I agree. I don’t have to say yes, just by nodding my head I have said yes. That’s an action and if the answer is no then that is a lie. Revelation 22:15. So a lie can be made like a false certificate is a made lie. If you fabricate a certificate, you have not spoken but you have made a lie. So lying is in thought, in word and action. You know there are people who have already calculated the lie in case they ask me, this is how I will say it. They have prepared inside them a lie. They have brought our various scenarios and cases.
What is God showing to us tonight? When we talk about the issue of sanctification, it is an intricate matter for which we must carefully examine ourselves. One of the operations of the enemy like we can see here is that it causes men to lie in various facets whether in their thoughts, in their words and in their actions. But tonight everyone under the influence of that lying spirit, tonight will mark your night of liberty. It is important to note that lying is one of the core traits of the devil, the Bible says he is the father of all liars. He lied from the beginning. John 8:44. So if you are going to be dissociated from him you must be disconnected from lying. Church Gist. That is why each one of us must continuously examine ourselves and give no room to the enemy. Don’t tolerate it, if your child says something that is not true, tackle it quickly. Don’t laugh about it, you are giving the lying spirit room to take and continue there. The enemy is constantly looking for destinies to damage. So we must guard against him. Don’t let him infiltrate your family, infiltrate your life with any one of these forces. Tonight I see liberty coming our way in the name of Jesus.
What are the biblical steps towards living a sanctified life? If we are going to live a sanctified life, what are the steps we must take? We will look at two of them quickly tonight.
Steps towards living a sanctified life
- We must cast out any unclean spirit.
Whatever is a spiritual force that is seeking to derail you cast it out. Matthew 10:1. The authority of the believer is put in our tongue. If we are going to demonstrate dominion over these forces we must learn to engage our words. Psalm 81:10-14. So we can engage our words to cast out every evil force. When a thought seems to creep in to lure you to the place of compromise don’t keep quiet, you don’t fight thought with thought, you fight thought with words. You speak out loud. Remember we said we are on the battlefield, your conversation on the battlefield is not a quiet conversation. You speak out loud. You open your mouth and open fire against that thought. 2 Corinthians 10:5. So you must learn to speak against everything that creeps in to lure you to the place of sin. This is so important, We must learn to cast them out by making our decrees. Luke 4:36. We also have the same, we must open our mouths and cast the devil out. The moment the devil starts to whisper in your ear, you know this situation you should start preparing the kind of answer you can give just in case you cast him out. Church Gist. You open your mouth and begin to make decrees against him. You do that authoritatively and aggressively. This is so important. If one mistakes a time of war for a time of peace one becomes a victim. Every time the devil creeps in to contradict the law and the word of God it is wartime. Don’t conduct yourself peacefully. Conduct yourself aggressively. On the warfront when fire is shot in your direction, you return fire quickly. It is vital and important. So open your mouth and make decrees. The Bible says “loose yourself” and that takes engaging with your mouth.
- You must put off the garment of filthiness
Colossians 3:8. Put it off, take it off, cast it off, remove it off your life. That means that each one of us has a part to play. Ephesians 4:22. You can’t patch your Christianity and walk with God, you must put off the old garment to take on the new one. Matthew 9:16. You can’t patch your Christianity and walk with God, you must put off the old man and put on the new one and that new one is renewed in the knowledge of the truth. We just consciously put it off. When that takes place then you and I can begin to walk in sanctification. This is why we must take responsibility for dealing with these evil spirits. Don’t wait and watch, it won’t leave on its own. We must take practical responsibility. When you see yourself come under any influence quickly attack it, get on the move and speak it off and take it off. When that becomes the case, you walk into liberty.
It is important that we note that primarily the covenant pathway to a sanctified life is repentance. You can’t pretend your way into righteousness, you repent your way into righteousness. In God’s agenda, it is never late to repent. The man on the right-hand side of the cross, that man repented on the cross and at that last moment, Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise. So it is never late to repent, don’t say I have gone too far, I can’t turn again. No! Wherever you get to the moment you repent and return, God does not have a problem in writing off all that is written against you. This is the vital key. You repent your way into righteousness. So repentance is a non-negotiable factor, no matter your calling, no matter your anointing, it is a necessity. The moment you see where you have made an error, it is your responsibility to turn. Your responsibility is to turn. Don’t take anything for granted in your walk with God. Church Gist. There is no small lie, there is no big lie, there is no white lie, there is no black lie, lie is lie. Never take anything for granted. Disobedience is disobedience. There are some people the moment you say go right they must go left. You know that you have a problem because every time there is an instruction there is something inside that must make you contradict it. Not for any reason, but just because the instruction said right that means left. Inside them, there is something that just makes them say No! I must disobey.
I remember Kenneth Copeland told the story of a boy, who was misbehaving in church. The mother would say stand up and he will sit down, stand up he will sit down. The mother looked at him and gave him a combined warning, you know there are different kinds of warnings, there are visual and oral warnings. The mother gave him a combined warning and the boy saw that the mother meant business so he sat down quietly all through the service. So after the service, the mother said so you know how to sit down, why didn’t you sit down since. Church Gist. The boy said, “Ma I am sitting down outside but inside I am standing up”. That is even in that condition inside his mind he was happy with himself that if she will not allow me to disobey physically, even spiritually I will disobey. That is there is a spirit of disobedience manipulating him. Tonight whatever makes anyone enjoy breaking laws, contradicting instructions, tonight will be your night of liberty in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Lift your hands to heaven and give thanks to God for the word you have received today.
Prayers: Any of the evil forces contending against your sanctification, seeking to put a filthy garment upon you, you are going to speak against it tonight. You are going to engage the power and authority that Jesus put in your tongue to cast it out and you will walk free tonight. Church Gist. Don’t speak gently, you are in warfare. So speak authoritatively, speak aggressively. Let that spirit of ungodliness know this is the last night.
- Whatever has been contending before now with your sanctification is subdued forever.
- This night for you is a night of victory.
He said take off the little foxes because those foxes spoil the vine. Our vines have tender grapes. - Whatever is trying to spoil the vine of your destiny, by tonight’s encounter absolute and total victory is established in the name of Jesus Christ.
- By this victory tonight, your destiny will find full expression.
More importantly, as we are preparing for what God has for us at Shiloh, no one will miss their part. The principal key to entering the covenant highway is righteousness. Church Gist. There will only be individuals who are walking practically in their righteousness and holiness there. So as we position ourselves in this season, the access code to enter God’s highway I see that code manifesting on our behalf. - This Shiloh that covenant highway required for any area of your life will open for you.
- This Shiloh will be a Shiloh with a difference and everything will be speaking in your direction.
- You have waited upon the Lord today, I declare the wings of an eagle to take flight in every area of life. I declare them released in your direction.
