-Lord, speak to us in this Second Service, breathe your breath upon the Word. Church Gist. Pass through my mouth to bless your people in Jesus’ mighty name.
The Message today is: SECURING GOD’S ATTENTION.
-There’s somebody with a stabbing chest pain. You are healed. Church Gist. You came to Church with severe stabbing chest pain, that pain is gone.
SECURING GOD’S ATTENTION – PART 2. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. So, every Scripture is for our profiting. Every commandment of God is ordained for our profiting. God does not instruct us to punish us. Church Gist. He instructs us to polish us. And until you secure His attention you can’t get the blessing.
How do we secure God’s attention? When we serve Him. Many Christians come to Church because they have one problem or the other not because they love God. They are in Church because they have issues for God to solve not because they love Him. Those who seek God for bread and butter will end up becoming bitter but those who serve him for who He is will become better. Make your choice! If you are waiting on God for a testimony, then do what waiters do. In every hotel, every restaurant; waiters, what do they do? They serve! Then serve Him. Church Gist. Do not serve God occasionally, conditionally, momentarily and temporarily but serve God; but serve Him continuously, serve Him continually. Hear this people of God, serving God is investing into His Kingdom. Kingdom investment is the surest of all investment. One day, a man called Peter was fishing in Luke 5:1-7 and he invested by giving his boat to Jesus to preach. And after Jesus was done preaching, He said: ‘Peter’! He (Peter) said: ‘We have toiled all night’. He (Jesus) said: ‘Cast your net into the deep’. He invested his boat, the dividend was outstanding. Peter, the Bible said it (his boat) began to sink, (because of) the kind of catching. Luke 5:5.
-May God give you a net-breaking, boat-sinking encounter. Church Gist. Something that will make you, you will say: ‘Wow’! You must shout a ‘Wow’.
-May God give you a ‘Wow blessing’.
He gave his boat as an investment. God is not a user of men, God is a blesser of men. He does not use men like politicians and dump you. That’s not God, our God does not use men, He blesses people. Church Gist. Am I communicating with you? I don’t mean all politicians but that’s the life of politicians. In fact, let me say: He is not like men who can use you; because it’s not only politicians. Men can use you and do what? Dump you when they’ve gotten what they want from you but not God. God does not use people, He blesses people. Mark 10:29-30.
-May God bless His Word in your life.
When you invest your best into the Kingdom, you get the best of God. And if you love God you will not struggle to invest. When you deliberately give God your best, He intentionally makes you the best. It is giving your best to God’s Kingdom that makes you secure His attention. Church Gist. Now, that Scripture we read in Mark (Mark 10:29-30) is also in Matthew 19:29-30, all of them (in verses) 29. Luke 18:29-30, all of them (in verses) 29, 29, 29. He said: Whatever you give, houses, everything, you shall receive what? A hundredfold. When you make Kingdom investment your lifestyle, you enjoy constant harvest. Matthew 6:33.
I will be looking at areas to invest in the Kingdom of God.
1. Invest in Kingdom advancement prayers.
Kingdom advancement prayer is our core responsibility. Church Gist. It is a commandment you and I must obey. Matthew 6:9-10. First investment should be Kingdom advancement what? Prayers.
How do you pray Kingdom advancement prayer? Let me tell you so that you don’t just get up to pray anyhow.
A. Pray for the success of Glory Reign. It’s a Kingdom prayer.
B. Pray for the Salvation of souls. Psalm 2:8. ‘Oh God! Bring souls concerning, Glory Reign. Let souls be won’!
C. Pray for the establishment of the new converts. ‘Lord! These souls won must not be lost’! Church Gist. Every soul won must not be what? Lost. Ephesians 6:12.
D. Pray for continuous Church growth. Acts 5:14.
E. Pray for God’s chosen vessel. You can’t pray Kingdom advancement prayer without praying for the Vessel God is using. Are you getting what I’m saying now? 2 Thessalonians 3:1. And pray for the Word to have free course. Pray (for) continuous, refreshing of the Word; the same Scripture can be used. Church Gist. Say: I hear. This is how to pray Kingdom advancement prayers, Kingdom advancement prayer is: Pray for souls to be won; pray for the Church to keep growing; pray for the Servant, God is using – the Vessel He is using, to be an instrument of blessing. Is that clear? Glory to God.
2. Invest in soul winning.
Soul winning is the Master’s business. When you invest in the Master’s business, you enjoy dividends. Church Gist. It gladdens God’s heart when we win souls. How many of you went out yesterday? God bless you specially. Luke 15:7.
The greatest thing God values on earth is what? Is souls. Souls are very valuable to God and profitable to man. Now, Glory Reign, for instance, is a platform for soul-winning. Is that true? Publicize Glory Reign, use it as a platform for soul winning. Pay for adverts, sponsor viewing centers. Every soul saved in that Place will be accrued, will be in your own account because you are the one who made it happen. Church Gist. Are you getting me, sir? Invest in establishing new souls, that’s how to win souls. Until souls saved are established, your soul winning is not complete. Make sure every soul you win is what? Established. Sponsor them in Bible School, in the Salvation Word of Life Bible Institute. Don’t miss the opportunity to invest in soul-winning.
Say: I will not miss it.
If you can’t preach, can’t you invite? If you can’t invite, can’t you go for rally? You have no excuse. Church Gist. Whichever way, make sure souls are what? Won through you. How many have won? How many will win? How many will not at all? Somebody shout hallelujah!
Tell your neighbour: I’m sure you will win souls, or you are not ready at all?
3. Invest in Church planting/building.
Shout hallelujah! How many of you will invest in Church planting? Because it is in your heart, it will be in your hands. David gave to build the Temple in 1 Chronicles 29:2-3. This Man (David) loves God, he was told not to build yet he prepared. Now listen, David was told not to build. Is (it) true? If it is some people, they will say: ‘Thank God I was not in Church. Church Gist. You know? That Sunday they took that offering, I was not around. Thank God’! David said: ‘No! I will do it’! Shout hallelujah! How many will follow David’s step? Myself, my wife and many others have built Churches for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. David the Great (David Ibiyeomie Jnr), at the age of 18 built his own Church, is that true? Glory to God. Join the league to secure God’s attention.
Tell your neighbour: Join the league to secure God’s attention.
At your level, do something. You may not have the money to build but can’t you even sponsor somebody to come for Glory Reign? Don’t tell me, ‘I don’t have’. Okay, do you need? Tell the person to go to the nearest viewing center. Go there! No transport? Trek there! Make sure the person go. But there are people, everything, ‘I don’t have’. ‘God knows I don’t have’. Church Gist. Even if your name is ‘God knows’, God does not know. Say: I hear! You know? If you are always on the side of: ‘I no get’, you will be poor for life, I can tell you. In this Kingdom, it’s your heart that moves you to do what you want to do, is that clear? We don’t give because we have what to throw away, we give because we love Him (God). David said: ‘I have set my affection towards the House of my God’. David was saying: ‘It’s my love that is making me do this’.
1 Chronicles 29:2. People were shouting that after all, why would David (Ibiyeomie Jnr) build Church? Is his father not having money? Many children, they will first of all tell you: ‘Use that money to buy car or buy houses for them’. That was his own savings not our own. It was his own money and he said: ‘Use the first money I have to build Church’. Say: I hear! Children will look at the footsteps of their parents. You know why your children are stingy? You are very stingy. They look at you, to give sef you struggle with God. Church Gist. So, when you tell them they say: ‘Daddy! Hmmm!! I won’t give you oo’. I have said to you, if a child refuses to share biscuit, don’t laugh. You take biscuit and say: ‘Junior, give me’! He says: ‘No’! (Illustrating). Don’t laugh, the child is exhibiting your nature, it’s your stingy nature. So for tide to change? Learn to give. You see? You want to take biscuit, maybe from your daughter or your son, they tear the biscuit and throw away, ‘I won’t eat again’, don’t laugh, that is you. That is the stingy nature you were born with which you have not overcome till now. So the child is exhibiting to show you: ‘You see how stingy you are? This is you’.
When children meet giving as a lifestyle, they don’t struggle to give. My grandmother and my mother; they were givers. I didn’t meet my grandfather from my father’s side. I never saw him but my grandmother, she had my father as the only son, her kitchen was the whole community kitchen. They will be eating, when we come on holiday, she will say: ‘I will give, I will give’. Church Gist. ‘Anything, you give’, she was the first person to make me know that giving will make you not to lack. I didn’t have any Bible, but she will tell you, ‘If you are a giver, you will never lack’. People come to our kitchen to be eating, as they eat they go out. Eat they go out!! My mother, you will never visit my mother without eating. My father was on the other side, I can tell you stories. So, the family is divided into two. Some of us are stingy, some of us are free. (Laughing).
Every family, you will take some trace of your parents. You know why you are stingy? Your parents were stingy. If your parents were hand-free, you would be free. Stinginess is transferable and is contagious. You know? They have communicable diseases, stinginess is what? A communicable disease. Some of you, the sickness, you transferred it to your children. You know? You don’t have to show them oo, it’s in your blood so, it goes to them (Laughing). Church Gist. When you say: ‘Junior, can I have your biscuit’? He will say: ‘Hmm’! But the ones who give, they will just throw the biscuit to you. He will say: ‘Okay! Daddy take, mummy take’. And check, anytime you are stingy, the children will display it. They will display it to shege. Take a lump of meat from their food, they will not eat again. He will say: ‘Mummy, I’m not eating, you took my meat’. (Laughing). ‘You took my meat, I am not eating’. It is the original you (Laughing).
Say: I break out of stinginess. I free myself from ‘Akachịị’ (Translated in Igbo Language: Stinginess).
Some benefits of investing in the Kingdom.
i. Your needs are met by God.
When Solomon gave in 1 Kings 3:3-4, he needed wisdom and understanding, God just gave them to him. Church Gist. 1 Kings 3:12. He didn’t ask for (money), then in 1 Kings 3:14, He gave him money that he never asked for. When you give sacrificially towards the Kingdom of God, your needs are what? met. God meets your need!
-And God will meet your needs in the name of Jesus.
ii. You encounter uncommon breakthroughs and open doors.
Luke 5:3-7. Church Gist. The moment Peter gave his boat, he encountered uncommon breakthroughs.
-You will encounter same.
Doors opened to Peter, true? Is that clear? You encounter uncommon what? Church Gist. Breakthroughs when you invest in the Kingdom of God.
Say: I will invest in the Kingdom of God.
iii. You will enjoy supernatural release and prosperity.
Many of you read this Scripture but you don’t know the secret of this Scripture. God called a man not in His covenant, ‘His anointed’. I don’t know why He called Him, you can’t judge God. With all your ‘holiness’, He has not called you His anointed. He called this Man his anointed, you will be surprised. Church Gist. Cyrus was not a believer, He called him ‘anointed’. Isaiah 45:1. Go and question God why He called Cyrus His anointed. I will tell you why He called him ‘Anointed’. Isaiah 45:1-3. You may wonder, if you don’t know the story you will read only Isaiah 45:1-3, you won’t understand it. This Man did something that made God to go this far. Do I show you from Scriptures? Ezra 6, some of you have never seen that part of the Bible.
Ezra 6:3,4,8,9. That was where God changed his story. There are some sinners who do things that they get blessed, that believers will never do. Are you getting what I’m talking about? They don’t go to Church oo, but they can see a Church… They may not make Heaven, they will on the earth, they will prosper. That’s what some of you don’t understand. Church Gist. ‘Hey!! How can this Church giver wey no dey go Church get money pass me’? Some of them do things even for Churches you will never do. You say: ‘God go accept am’? You better ask God. Did he throw away the Man’s offering here? Okay! You can’t question God. Ezra 6:8. And God looked at him, He said: ‘King Cyrus that I have anointed’. ‘I did not call you My anointed’ – I know you come to Church every day (Clapping).
When you want to give offering sef, you say: ‘Father’! (Illustrating). God looks at your offering, He says: ‘You mean, this is what you’re giving Me? This one! Yet as you are leaving Church, you are buying, the food you’re eating is more than the offering. He says: ‘Can I stop somewhere to chicken my life’? (Laughing). God says: You chicken your life with five thousand? And you give Me offering of five hundred naira? You remain here. Then one sinner who just came to Church, hear this kind of message for the first time, will say: ‘Is that how it works’? Gbaa! Tomorrow you just hear ‘Boom’! He climbs the altar and says: ‘Jesus just turned my story’. You say: (Illustrating and laughing). Church Gist. ‘Hey! My friend, you are not God to judge, the way God moves is not the way we move. I repeat, they may not make Heaven but they will be blessed here more than you. God does not look as man looks. Are you hearing what I’m saying? Shout hallelujah! The size of your Kingdom investment determines the size of your profit. Galatians 6:7. If you don’t like your harvest, then change your seed. If your harvest is small, then increase the size of your seed for Kingdom investment. Luke 18:29-30. That means if I invest in the Kingdom, I must get it here and also there, a room for me in Heaven. Say: I hear. Luke 18:29-30. Glory to God! Are you getting me? For the Kingdom of God.
You know why I exploded in finance? This Church was to be built. We built it and then the Old Church not this one, the Old Church this same place but the Old one, we had pillars. And as a Pastor, I had 723,000 (naira) and my wife is a witness. That was the first money I ever had. I gave 700,000 naira out of 723,000 (naira) (Laughing). God said: ‘Boy! I will surprise you’! I had no car. Anything you make sacrifice for, you over have it. I was to buy car so now I make sacrifice for God. Up till now, car, believe me cars is nothing to me. Car is what? Nothing to me. There’s no fleet of cars I’ve not driven or I don’t have. I have given Range Rover the way you give sweet. Church Gist. If Range Rover have plural, I have given Range Rovers. I don’t mean, I’ve given a Range Rover that is not up to one thousand, the highest the Range Rover went to was airport, I have given Range Rovers. I have given G Wagon of the highest order as gifts oo. I have given fifty-something cars in less than two months because the first thing I did was to give what I was to use for cars for God. Say: I hear. I gave my first one million dollars when I have no house. Will I be talking about houses now? No! Anything you make happen for God, God will give you in surplus, that’s how God works.
You have to inconvenience yourself, when Jesus gave His life, God (gave Him) so many children. Do you understand the principle? Almighty God too could not… Now, listen! Prayer for yourself can’t break it. All these: ‘Oh God! You know I’m suffering and You said in Your Word, affliction will not rise the second time’. God will be looking at you. He will say: ‘Your affliction will not rise, Me, didn’t I give My Son’? You don’t use one Scripture to cancel the other one. Do you hear me at all? Hello! You know? Some of us are very (funny) we came from funny, funny backgrounds. Instead of telling you the truth, they will tell you: ‘We would pray for you now’. Church Gist. Deliverance! Okay! You’ve done deliverance in the former Church you came oo, me I’m telling you how to come out oo. If you write exam, you fail the first one; you go to write the same pattern, won’t you fail? Which wetin? You wrote exam, you fail, you went again, you wrote the same pattern. What will happen? You have been doing deliverance, you have been failing – Hardship has not left, I’m telling you how to come out of hardship. In this Kingdom, like this (Crying) does not bring people out of hardship. Do like this (Illustrating Crying), you no go come out. If you like, do like this, (Illustrating), you no go come out. You have to first and foremost pray for the advancement of His Kingdom, win souls and your hand has to be free, automatic qualification, first class! You know in school, they have first class, second class upper, second class lower and third class.
Now, if all you do is Kingdom advancement prayer, they will give you third class, you will get third class, you are still a graduate (Laughing). If you do, Kingdom advancement prayer, soul winning, second class upper; you now add giving, first class. You decide where you belong. Do you understand now? If all you do is prayer, prayer, prayer. Church Gist. What do you have? You will pass, you will graduate (Laughing). If you pray and go for soul-winning, what will you have? 2:1, which is very good. But if you add giving, what will you have? First class. So why will you go for second class upper when you have opportunity for first class? Some of us are first-class Christians, true? That’s if they see us, people envy us (Laughing).
Don’t you see how they preach against me even on television? Some is remaining for them to say: ‘David Ibiyeomie, you are the one we are calling’! (Laughing). It’s envy, it’s what? It’s envy! ‘You don’t mind them, they go carry tag on their neck as if na human being them dey worship. Glory Reign is coming, they will wear shirt: Glory Reign, for what? Is that how we make…’? All is bitterness. When somebody is angry with you eh? Forget it! Church Gist. Even the food you eat, they get angry, as if they bought the food for you. God will bless you! Please, just do what I’m telling you so that they can get angry with you. If anybody is envying you, you have not started. Now, I’m teaching you this, so that they can get angry and get angry and get angrier if there is any English like that. If nobody is envying you, you have not touched God. When you touch God even people around you go know say… (Illustrating). ‘He used to live in one room, how can he now be buying houses every…’
-You will buy!
I’m telling you this truth, because so that people can envy you in the next five months. You know? When you are blessed of God, the envy increases. Church Gist. Oh! Envy increases. He said: ‘And they envied Isaac’. Genesis 26:14.
-The World will envy you.
I’m not telling you this for, I’m telling you so that you can become an envy to your world. If nobody is envying you, you have not touched God. When you touch God, men must envy you. They can be in the same Church and those who are not doing it, they will start grumbling. ‘See, thief’! When you hear people talking like that, they have entered the camp of envy; envious people! ‘Thief! Na thief em be, 419, na man e dey follow’. Church Gist. Okay, you wey dey follow God come poor? (Laughing). When you hear people start talking like that, they’ve already missed it. ‘Eh! Na man she dey follow, na em make she dey get money’, okay you dey follow God, na em you poor? Person wey dey follow man get money pass person wey dey follow God. You are wrong! It’s your bitterness! You can be in this Church and be bitter. There are people in this Church who are very bitter. And anybody you see bitter like that? They don’t do what I’m talking.
And when you don’t do what it takes to come out of bitterness, hey, everybody you hate, including me, you go hate me. ‘Don’t mind him, he’s talking anyhow with em ball head, na as em go dey talk up and down. (Laughing). Em mouth go just dey make prim-prim-prim because em hold microphone’ (Laughing). I dey tell you oo, I have seen it happen. I’ve seen where my own classmates in Bible School get angry with me as if I did them something. Church Gist. You know why? This is the thing: When you are not doing what they teach, it will not take two years, you will start getting angry with those who are doing it, because you feel they are doing some other things. You say: ‘You don’t go to Church’? ‘Are you sure there is something they are doing, we are not doing? Even, na the same God we dey serve! Why am I’? Do this thing oo.
-My brother, tell your neighbour: Do the thing oo! Do this thing Pastor is talking about. After now if you don’t do it, you will soon get bitter with me and I don’t want you to get bitter with me because we are neighbours. Do these things: Win souls, pray for His Kingdom and then use your resources to advance His Kingdom. Brother/Sister, put it to practice as to avoid ‘nwunwunwu’. ‘Nwunwnwu’ is complaining and murmuring.
Make sure you are giving in cheerfulness and investing in faith, refuse to doubt. Because whatever you make happen for God, God will make happen for you. Philippians 4:16. Don’t say: ‘Last year, didn’t I give’? The last year, didn’t you eat? Is it the last year’s food that is keeping you till today? (Laughing). Church Gist. You know some people will say: ‘But I gave last year na? Why will Papa say that I should give again’? ‘No! Giving is a continuous process! Because you want harvest continuously, is that not true? Glory to God! Hallelujah!
But hear this, let me close on this note. Matthew 20:3-9. Now, it’s not late to be right. Maybe, you didn’t start when others started but now you have heard the truth, start now, God will still reward you. Did you hear me now? God rewarded even those who came at the what? Eleventh hour. Maybe we went for the first rally you did not join. We have been praying since for the Kingdom, you did not join, start now! Today that you heard, He will still reward you. Church Gist. Are you getting me? In case you have not done it, you didn’t follow us in 12 noon prayers, you didn’t follow us in eh 5 o’clock prayers, you didn’t join the rally for soul winning, you don’t believe in giving at all, now start! Now do what? Start! As we are going for rally on Saturday, join. As you are coming for prayers for the Kingdom, join. He will still reward you no matter the time. Make sure, you can’t hear this kind of message and remain in adamant, you will never make progress. Shout hallelujah!

God gave me an illustration. Just get this mental picture – I give two persons (a key) and they are to enter a room and I say: ‘When you get to the door, this is the key to the door’. I gave one the key. And one went in front of the door and has been fasting and praying for the past three weeks for that door to be open. Who amongst the two is smarter? The one with the key. What I thought you is ‘The Key’. You have been fasting for days and years from different Churches, shaking your head, you are wasting your energy. Just do these things. The smart people will put these three things to practice, they open the door to their breakthroughs. Church Gist. How many understand it? The other one you’re doing: ‘Hey!! Father’!! The door will still be locked. Your screaming and shouting won’t open that door, you are sweating, you have not eaten, you are hitting your head. You have been in Churches where they did not tell you how to open this door, simple keys like this will open the door. ‘Key’ is knowledge. And this is the knowledge, this is simple! Just be a Kingdom promoter, pray for souls and pray for… (With) these three things you will never be stranded. (Illustrating). I give you three! Online Morning Devotion is Kingdom, I join them, I’ve never missed it, true? Except I’m out of the Country. When I’m out of the Country because of time difference, I hook up later.
Now, I don’t play for soul-winning, did I go for rally yesterday? How many men of God will hold program and join rally? Very few. Very what? Few. We are very few! With all humility, we are on earth very few (Men of God) who go for evangelism. (Pastor E.A.) Adeboye goes for evangelism till tomorrow. Are you aware? He was in Kwara State last year. At his level! For soul winning oo. He told people to go for the; in Redeemed they have what they call: ‘Go A Fishing’. He was in Kwara doing: ‘I Go A Fishing’! At that age? Eighty-something years. (Bishop) Oyedepo goes under bridge to preach, are you aware? I go to markets to preach. Can you see the difference in our lives? Can’t you see us? Are we like other people? Okay! I preach and I give, you see mine? I do the three and you can see life is easy. Church Gist. Okay, you have been doing like this (Illustrating prayers and crying), your neck almost wants to break my friend. Don’t kill yourself, it doesn’t work like that! I can tell you in this Kingdom, it doesn’t work like that. You came from Churches where they told you (Illustrating prayers), demon in the coven, coven of poverty, go!! It has not left, I am telling you simple thing that will make it work. This is what I know, it has worked for me. I’m not telling you theory, stop killing yourself over things that are not working. You write exam you fail, write exam you fail, you say you still want to write the same pattern? Okay! If you get sense you hear! I know you have plenty of sense.
