Today we want to begin with what they call, confession, because what you say, that’s what you get. I want us to do one or two little confessions. I want to know the things you got and the things that God dashed you.
Divine joy – I get am
Divine prosperity
Divine victory
Divine success
Divine Repositioning
The one wey you no get? God go dash me.
Throughout this year God will give you joy! I want to thank the Almighty God for the way Mummy led us in thanksgiving this morning because that’s what we’ve come to do. Church Gist. We’ve come to praise the Lord because in praising Him, He is our future progress, future blessings, future security.
The text will be 2 Chronicles 1:6-12.
– Whatever you ask God today you will get!
The Almighty God in His infinite mercy has repositioned us. We are now on the Mountain top. It may not appear like that in the physical, but it’s already so in the spiritual. Long before the end of this Year you will know that you are on the Mountain top. Don’t forget, God has spoken, He has already said, the wind is already blowing and in the name that is above every other name, the wind is going to blow in your favour. Now, the Elders have a saying, “the major problem of victory, promotion, repositioning is: after that, what next? What do I do with the victory? What do I do with the wealth?” Believe me honestly, God spoke loud and clear (I think on Friday night or New Year’s Eve) that some people will start this year as nothing but before the end of the Year they will be somebody. Church Gist. Whether you believe it or not, when my Daddy speaks, it’s already done. How He will do it? No no, leave that to Him. I know Him enough to know that when He speaks, I begin to rejoice. I don’t need to wait to see it happen because once he has spoken every force that he has to move in Heaven, on Earth, every arrangement or rearrangement that He needs to make to make sure that what He has said comes to pass, He will do it.
– I have good news for somebody listening to me today: nobody knows you right now. Before the end of this year, they will be coming to you for help!
Solomon was repositioned. He knew without doubt (that) he wasn’t the one supposed to be king – at all. He didn’t qualify by any means. The one who was qualified, the one that the King himself thought that he is going to succeed him was Absalom. Oh, David loved Absalom so much he never once corrected that boy. That boy was allowed to do whatever he wanted. Church Gist. But you know the rest of the story: Absalom felt that Daddy is wasting too much time, he is not dying on time so I better become king, then Absalom died. Then there was another fellow after Absalom died who qualified to be king and his name was Adonijah. Some how the devil moved Adonijah, he didn’t learn his lesson from Absalom. He said, “this old man is not going in time, I will make myself king.” You know the rest of the story: God moved him out of the way and repositioned Solomon.
– You know what? Anybody who tries to prevent you from reaching your goal, God will remove!
It will be like a play but God has a way of manoeuvring to make sure that what He has planned for your life will come to pass. Church Gist. If He has to shake the Heavens, He will shake the Heavens. Tell your neighbour, “by the time this Year ends, you will know I am a different person.”
So we want to learn 3 major things quickly from Solomon when he saw that God has repositioned him, he is now king:
1. He decided to praise God massively. Bible said he offered a thousand burnt offering. When we read it like that it might not mean much to you unless you can just sit down, imagine it. The King had called together the sons of Levi – I want to thank God. “Ah, your majesty, well done.” Then they brought the first cow, they slaughtered it. They brought the second, the third, by the time it got to the 7th they were looking at him because everybody knew Solomon was a spoilt child; he wasn’t too clever. Church Gist. So they were looking at themselves, “may be we need to advise him o, 7 is enough.” He said, ah, I haven’t even started. Seven? I’m not stopping at 700. I’m going all the way to 1000. By the time they had slaughtered a thousand cows in one day, the place was flowing with blood. Everybody was wondering, what is this? God himself looked down from Heaven and said, “alright boy, you’ve done something for me that nobody had ever done before. I will show you who I am.” That’s why the Almighty God paid him a visit that night. It’s the first time the Almighty God ever said to anybody, “ask anything.” This morning I am going to encourage you all, whether it is afternoon, evening or night wherever you are, listen to me because by now it is night in Australia. I want you to praise God like you’ve never done before, to thank him like you have never done before. I know you came prepared what you want to give God for thanksgiving – change your mind. Church Gist. Just think about it. What he’s done for you is far far more than you can ever repay but at least show him for once that, “Daddy, oh you’re wonderful and I will show you that I’m also a good boy/girl.” God came and gave him a blank cheque – already signed. Blank cheque of the Bank of Heaven. God said, ask anything you want.
You think God has been good to you? You haven’t seen anything yet. Praise Him and he will show you. I told you once: when we were beginning the Holy Ghost Service at the Camp and there was a particular weekend special Holy Ghost Service. I was getting ready, fasting for days, then I was praying and all of a sudden God spoke to me, “I don’t want to hear any prayer from you. All I want is thanksgiving; just worship me for all I have already done.” That was the first time in my ministry that on a single night, 14,000 people were healed without anybody laying hands on any one of them. Church Gist. In those days we had plenty of time because we always go from 7(pm) to 6am – so we counted. When we finished that, I got back into my room, he didn’t have to tell me now to praise Him because almost everybody who came got healed. While I was praising Him he said to me, “Son, don’t worry yourself. I will do more tonight.” Ah, we were all already healed. But when he speaks just believe him. How many of you believe that your tomorrow is going to be alright?
Then the people who got healed went home and began to tell all their friends. “Do you know this is what happened last night? You were not there?” The following day, that was the first time we began to have traffic jam on the Expressway. Church Gist. The following day, 16,000 were healed. You think you are somebody yet? Wait and see what my Daddy is going to do. How many of you really believe that before the end of the year you’re going to become somebody special?
You know we stopped counting the number of people who got healed in one night after the number increased to a 144,000. We don’t bother to count anymore but I mean, just ask yourself, there’s something called Holy Ghost Service that started almost 40 years ago and it’s still getting stronger and stronger, you should know that there is something behind the scene. Church Gist. You know the blessing that God is going to bless you with today, this year, even your grandchildren will still be enjoying the blessing.
2. Solomon said, all I’m asking for is what I will need to serve you. The reason I’m asking for wisdom and understanding, you made me a king, how do I handle this assignment? How can I serve you satisfactorily? You praise him mightily, profusely, thank God for the way Mummy led us this morning but don’t stop there, keep on praising him and then, decide to serve him. Church Gist. When you ask for money so that you can use the money to serve him, he will provide more than you need. When you ask for good health so that you can serve him, look at me now (I am healthy). A friend of mine, we are about the same age phoned last year: “Pastor, how are you doing it? Today we see you are in America. Tomorrow you are in India, next time … you jumping up and down as if you’re a little boy. What’s your secret?” I said, “ha! I laughed and said, it must be your prayer. He laughed. I am over 80 by the grace of God. On one occasion I travelled with small small boys, young men, some of them less than 40 years old and we travelled long distance – Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and I’m talking of ways far far away. We will go have a program in the evening, get home by 11pm and that’s when we will take breakfast and finally we will probably get on bed by 1am and by 5am I will phone all of them, “get up o because we are going to the next place.” Church Gist. By the time we came back and I said we will stop for one day in one particular place, the following morning I waited and didn’t see my children at morning devotion. I said, ah, what happened? I said, well may be they’re sleeping. By 12 o’clock I still haven’t seen them. They were still sleeping. They were all asking, Daddy how do you do it? …Because I made a bargain with God. I used to be knocked down by malaria fever every two weeks then I said to him, “heal me and I will serve you.” I haven’t had malaria fever ever since.
You promised that you will serve him with whatever he gives you, he will give you more. I am looking at some of you now who are younger than I who are already feeling older than I but things will change today. From now on you will be bouncing in good health. Those of you who think you want to do something for God only you don’t have the money, ah, money is coming. Church Gist. But when it comes, what are you going to use it for? To serve him. I’ve said it again and again, God is looking for treasurers. Don’t let anybody tell you there’s no money in this Country. It’s just that it is in the wrong hands. Take my word for it: this Year, wealth will change hands.
So praise Him mightily, continuously; serve Him, win souls, follow them up, bring them to the Church let them be established, bring them to the Holy Ghost Service let the power of God come and land on them, do everything you can to serve God. Church Gist. You see because if he fulfills his promise and he prospers you, repositions you and you will not use it to serve him… He can raise up and he can bring down. That’s my Daddy so I know him and I can tell you the truth.
I’ve never forgotten the story of one young man, “Daddy pray for me, tell God to prosper me.” So I prayed and one day he came running and said, hey Daddy God has answered your prayers. I said, is that so? He said, yes. What happened? He said one big man in Lagos called him and said, I have a 13 flat building. I want you to sell it at any price you want. All I want from you is, “…so much.” Church Gist. I don’t want to know how you sell it, just pay me so much. He told me that, I said, congratulations! 13 flats? He said yes. He said that building is worth at least 3 times what the man is asking for. I said that’s good news. 13 flats – I am sure you will give one of the flats to the Church. He said why? I said, I thought tithe na.” Ah! He said that’s the problem with you pastors – you’re so greedy. God has just given me a breakthrough; the first thing you want to do… I said I’m sorry Sir. He was angry. I mean, he stormed out of my office. Then he found a buyer for the building and went to the Landlord, “Sir, I’ve sold the building o. The amount you said I should bring, where do I deposit it?” The man said, you did what? You sold my building? At how much? He said, the amount you said I should bring. Church Gist. The man said, “whoever made the charm for you, the charm has failed. If I see you near my building…” He came running to me, “Daddy plee…” “Ah ah, leave me out of it, go and settle with God.”
I have not seen him for a long time but the last time I saw him he was still living in one room and a parlour in Mushin. Church Gist. God can raise up and he can bring down. The blessing that God will give you this year will be permanent!
3. You must stay connected to the one who has repositioned you. Stay connected to God because every river that detaches itself from the source will run dry. Church Gist. Every branch that is torn from the tree is going to dry up. It is the tree that supports the branch not the branch supporting the tree – stay connected.
You can’t believe that Solomon that God blessed so much could detach himself from God but he did. He did because when the money came he forgot what he said he wanted to use the money for. He began to use the money to acquire wives. Not too many, only 700 wives. Church Gist. He wasn’t satisfied with the 700 he added 300 concubines. I don’t know the kind of person that boy was because I don’t know how any man can minister adequately to 1000 women. By the end of his life, the same man who had everything he asked for plus several things he didn’t ask for, ended up by saying, Ecclesiastes 1:1-2, “vanity upon vanity,” all is vanity. I pray for you: you will end well!
Ecclesiastes 7:8. How you end is what is important. Stay connected. Some of the Elders here can bear me witness to the story I am about to tell you: we were in the Church – this building. Not quite as it is, it has been expanded. Church Gist. A man of God came from America to preach. As he was preaching, you know the way Americans do, running up and down, suddenly he came down from the pulpit and stood before one of us and said, “The Almighty God said, if you will continue to worship me, I will make you a millionaire.” The man shouted and we were all very envious. Why should he be the one that God has singled out? One of the poorest of us of course. I mean himself, his wife and 5 children, they were living in one room and a parlour in Mushin. Millionaire? I mean million Naira then, the Naira was 1.5 Dollar o in those days. Ah! I believe the wind will blow on our Naira too. Believe it or not, in less than one year, that man has become a millionaire.
I mean he has already bought a car for himself, a car for his wife, he got a flat, I mean we were all looking at him and we were all saying, “hey, this God is wonderful o.” But then all of a sudden, I won’t see brother in Church. Church Gist. What’s going on? Then somebody brought the news that brother had heart attack. Ah, he’s a very young man; heart attack? Everything is going fine for him.
So I sent the prayer warriors, go and pray for him, tell him he won’t die. But when he is well he should come and see me and he came. I understood you have heart attack. He said something happened. You see because when we were not seeing him in Church we followed him up. Oga, what’s going on? Church Gist. We were there when the prophecy came, God said if you will continue to worship me, I will make you a millionaire. Now you are a millionaire but we are not seeing you on Sunday. He said you know, business you see, my business partners some in London, Switzerland, we have to meet. You have to meet them on Sundays? He said, that’s when they are most relaxed. “Really?” Church Gist. Then God moved. It was a time when they were building Abuja so you will know how long ago and he had a contract. According to the condition of the contract, when he reaches a certain level they were going to pay him (I think) 200 million Naira. That was a lot of money in those days.
Two weeks before he got to that stage they cancelled the contract. That’s why he had the heart attack. I said to him, “okay my boy, I understand. Anybody can make a mistake, return to God and I promise you they won’t award that contract to anybody else. Church Gist. God is merely trying to get your attention. He’s trying to say, come back to me. Come back to him, he will restore.” But he never came back to God. Remain connected, worship him massively, continuously, serve him with everything that he may make available to you and remain connected.
