There is a positioning required to secure an encounter with God. “I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day and I heard.” Many things may be said, it’s how much you are in the spirit that determines how much you can access. Church Gist. Revelation 1:10. ‘If we live in the spirit, let us walk in the spirit, you can’t tell when your moment is come.’ So stay tuned. Revelation 4:1…you can’t stay there to access it, you have to come up. So come up spiritually tonight in this concluding part and expect your last day’s portion to be fully delivered.
– Your last day’s portion shall be fully delivered!
You also know that there are times you open your Bible, nothing is happening. He said, come up hither and I will show you. You can’t stay there to see it. Church Gist. Revelation 4:1. So as you come out of the flesh, come into the spirit; come out of the natural mode to the spiritual to access what God has in store for us.
– No more downtime in your spiritual life!
– No more downtime in your walk with God in the name of Jesus!
– Jesus, over to you, reach out to everyone uniquely tonight in Jesus precious name!
This one thought should guide us in our journey, “if any man thinks he knows anything, let him know that he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.” 1 Corinthians 8:2, 2 Timothy 3:1-5. But no one can go farther than his meekness in his walk with God. Matthew 5:5, Matthew 11:29. Church Gist. No one can access deeper truth than his meekness in the sight of God. Psalm 25:9, Romans 11:33. So we need the Spirit of Meekness, we need the baptism of meekness to keep advancing in our walk with God.
Most believers are stranded because, “I’ve done all that God has said.” How do you know? So God is lying? You’ve done all that you know, maybe you have not discovered enough. The ones who failed exam didn’t fail everything. He got 40 out of 100. So he got some things but that was not pass mark. We need the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit to soar high in our walk with God. Church Gist. It’s not looking pious that shows a meek man. No! Moses, the Meek was very bold – “Pharaoh, stop there!” And God said that was the Meekest of all men on the face of the Earth. 1 Peter 3:4…It enhances our value in the sight of God. It can push more into us that will help us to accomplish more of His agenda in our lives. Please, lay down the crown of pride. It has never been known to add value to anybody. It usually erodes value. Lay it down, consciously so.
Some fellows, when you mention a Scripture, “oh, I already know that. I know that. I knew that 1920.” Romans 11:33. We were busy farming on our land in the Niger Delta not knowing that there was (crude) oil inside. We were very happy that we had cassava – very good harvest. But beneath that same land (that same ground) was oil. Church Gist. 1 Corinthians 13:9. Jesus, the perfect One is yet to come so we still know in parts and we are moving from one part to another, from another part to another part, another part to another part, shining more and more till the perfect One comes. Proverbs 4:18.
There is one Text on this Earth that is by research, inexhaustible – it’s the Bible. The more you find, the more you discover – you are yet to find. So come down. By His grace, I read the 4 Gospels the first 3 months I got born again. Not just read, I consumed. I could recite a whole chapter without having to cram or memorize them. I’m still learning, the Gospel is still speaking, speaking life. Seals are still being opened. Church Gist. How much you get out of any truth of Scriptures is a function of our depth of understanding of it. Mathew 13:23…same seed, same kind of good heart but different levels of spiritual understanding which goes forth to determine different levels of returns.
So the difference between an outstanding believer and the others is spiritual understanding. Not just understanding, the level of depth of understanding. Church Gist. So let’s open up in our devotions – “Jesus, I need my take away today. Jesus, I need my daily bread today. Jesus, I need fresh meal from Heaven.” 🎼🎶🎵 Bread of Heaven fill me till I want no more, fill me Lord…We need that Spirit of Meekness, an ornament of a meek and quiet Spirit to keep scaling new heights in our spiritual understanding and in the kind of results that we command by engaging the truth of Scriptures. Thank you Jesus!
Tonight for the brief time we have, I will be sharing with us on “THE ANOINTING FOR SACRIFICIAL STEWARDSHIP.”
Many are serving God but there’s not much to show for it because they have not hit the level that makes it show. You sow sparingly, you reap sparingly. You sow bountifully, you reap bountifully. First, serving God is a choice. Please, don’t ever feel forced to do it or you get nothing out of it. 1 Corinthians 9:17, Joshua 24:15. So serving God is primarily a choice. Church Gist. Oil is of no importance when there is no lamp. “🎶🎼Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning…” There must first be a lamp before oil becomes relevant. The Anointing is the Oil, your choice is the lamp. So the Anointing is of no relevance when there is no lamp. “🎶🎼Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning. Give me oil in my lamp I pray. Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning till the Bridegroom comes.” A choice first!
God can’t make a choice for you. A prophet can’t make a choice for you, your pastor can’t make a choice for. It’s a choice! Deuteronomy 30:19…and because it is service that attracts and provokes His blessings, “I lay before you serving me or not serving me, make your choice. Thou shall serve, I will bless – make your choice.” If we get that down…anybody who feels that God compelled Him to answer a call, he is lying. Never! They told a young man, follow me. Church Gist. He said, ‘I won’t follow you, don’t you know that my father died? Or you didn’t hear? You don’t hear news?’ (Laughs) Jesus left him. He said “we are going to pass this village.” Never! You look like somebody going to Jerusalem, you can’t pass here and then Peter said ‘let’s call fire down from Heaven.’ Jesus said, ‘stop that, you don’t know what spirit you are made of. Each one has a choice, let’s go through another way. Luke 9:51-55. So God does not force a man to serve Him sir. No! ‘Why are you standing idle all the day long? Go to the vineyard and work.’ He didn’t say, I will take you there. Go there if you choose to.’ Matthew 20:1-9.
So serving God is a choice. Nobody forced me to be running crazy after Jesus. I made my choice. So the blessedness of stewardship begins with a choice. The blessedness of stewardship in the Kingdom begins with a choice – a delightsome choice not a coerced choice. Church Gist. A delightsome choice! Joshua 24:15. So the Anointing of stewardship becomes only relevant to individuals who have made a choice to serve Him. Before I got baptized in the Holy Ghost (it’s not as easy as we are having it right now, in our time, there was a lot of debate. Do you need the Holy Spirit? When you are saved, you are saved. The Holy Spirit entered you, you can’t say Jesus is without the Holy Spirit. We had a lot of evangelical confusions then. So, it took me some time before I got filled with the Holy Spirit and that was 1975), but I have been running around serving Jesus with everything inside me.
One of my fellows came to me some years back (some 3 years ago). He said, 1971 or 1972, he was coming to the Fellowship and he said ‘sir, you know, you always come early, earlier than anybody else.’ He said, ‘you saw me and you called me.’ You said ‘hey, young man come here. Your level of commitment to God is what will determine your ultimate accomplishment in life.’ 1972! Church Gist. I have not been baptized in the Holy Ghost. Are you following? 1973, I chose to partner with Jesus to raise Him a Church in a village at the age of 19. It’s a choice. So, it begins with a choice. Serving Jesus begins with a choice. The Anointing comes to empower you for effectiveness in stewardship but your choice is the baseline. Your choice to serve God is your baseline.
I encountered destiny in stewardship without being anointed. Amen! I was just passionate for Jesus and they said to me, “the light you brought to our village, let it shine around the World” and it’s shining today. So, it’s a choice. Nobody came to me and said, look there must be a Church here. I said “is there a Church?” They said ‘none.’ I said not even Catholic? Church Gist. Not to berate Catholicism or anything but they were everywhere and so I expected them to be there. They said ‘no’ and I said ‘Jesus, let me not leave this place without your name being planted here.’ I was going to be there for 72 days only.
When the choice is made, stewardship becomes a delight. You are not struggling, it’s time for fellowship – you are excited. It’s time to minister to some fellows in need, you are elated. Church Gist. It’s time to run around to make things work, you are excited. When the choice is genuine, stewardship becomes a delight.
‘ANOINTING FOR SACRIFICIAL STEWARDSHIP.’ Isaiah 42:1-4. ‘My servant, I have put my Spirit upon you. He chose to serve Me, so I put my Spirit upon him, so he will not fail nor be discouraged in the pursuit of his assignment. Church Gist. I have put my Spirit upon him, he shall not fail nor be discouraged.’
– That’s the Anointing you are receiving tonight!
– You will never tell the story in your life ‘when I used to serve God!’
– You will never back out all the days of your life!
– In season and out of season, you will remain constant in your walk with God!
That Spirit of Servanthood is the Spirit behind scaling unlimited heights and the gateway to a world of supernatural breakthroughs as we saw in Christ. Philippians 2:5-11.
– You are going places!
– While I live, a number of you will have a hundred thousand people in your employment!
– Some will emerge as national breadwinners!
– You will scale unlimited height with that Spirit working in you.
– It’s your turn!
We all know in the natural, when one withdraws from service, he or she is automatically off the payroll of the organization. Also, no one qualifies for promotion or change of level after resigning from a job. Church Gist. All the fringe benefits and allowances are withdrawn. In the same manner, when a believer steps out of service, he gets grounded.
– You will not be grounded!
What the Anointing for servanthood does is not just to serve but empowers us to serve God acceptably. Hebrews 12:28. It empowers us to serve God acceptably, that is, to serve God faithfully. You don’t need no supervision. It keeps you on key when people see you or they don’t see you. Serving God cheerfully, no downtime – it’s the Oil of gladness. Christ was still smiling on the cross. Church Gist. What a grace! Today, you will meet me in paradise. You are grinning under pains – the Oil of joy. To serve God diligently (I must work), ‘my meat is to do the work of Him that sent me’…to serve God tirelessly, keeps you going…he shall not fail nor be discouraged till the task is accomplished…and serve God sacrificially. John 10:17-18. Sacrificial stewardship is impossible without empowerment.
They were hungry and He sent them to go get food. Before they came, they found Him actively engaging with the woman at the well and somebody brought Him food. He said ‘no, I have a meat to eat that you don’t know anything about. My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me.’ Power! Sacrifice! In Mark 3, they thought He was mad because there was no time to eat. Church Gist. So His very dear friend came to come and take Him off – unusual strength, unusual vigour. Sacrificial stewardship is impossible without the empowerment of the Spirit. We saw this in the example of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego for instance. How do you look down on fire and say ‘we are not careful to answer you. We rather die than worship this thing.’ It’s impossible…Those proclamations were powered proclamations. Daniel 3:16-18.
You heard Paul say “by the help of God, I continue to this day.” You can’t continue without His help. Sacrificial, tireless stewardship requires help from above. 2 Corinthians 11:23-27…there’s no way to go through that and still be on course without being empowered. I like you to see the need for this empowerment. There are discouraging things all around here and there. To stay the course requires empowerment. Church Gist. When the going went tough, Peter gave in. Mercy restored him. ‘I will never turn back even if it means dying with you.’ A small girl – ‘you are one of them.’ He said ‘never.’ For by strength shall no man prevail.
Please open up for this empowerment tonight because you are going somewhere! Church Gist. The altar of sacrifice is the altar of turnaround.
– You are leaving here moving into realms of turnarounds without end!
– Before you recover from one, another one has taken place!
But that happens on the altar of sacrifice. He calls it our reasonable service. Roman 12:1. It’s the most profitable way in stewardship – making oneself a living sacrifice unto God. Serving God as a seed like David said “a seed shall serve Him, it shall be accounted to him for a generation.” When you serve God sacrificially, it impacts on your generations after you. Psalm 22:30. We need empowerment. Church Gist. For a seed to grow, it has to go under the belly of the Earth and messed up by the moisture underground and the heat and breaks up before the micropyle will come before the crop will grow. It takes empowerment to subject yourself to that which has to be done willingly and cheerfully.
To be dead to self and alive to God requires empowerment. Church Gist. Many have served God committedly, some have served Him diligently but very few have stepped into the realm of sacrificial stewardship.
– That’s where you are going into now! Sacrificial stewardship!
I was among the vendors of Kenneth E. Hagin books here in Nigeria with utmost delight carrying it on my shoulder – no vehicle, nothing. I never knew about commission so I didn’t feel cheated because I didn’t know. There was no commission doing what I was doing, I was excited doing it. “These books have blessed me, it will bless you also. Come on now, have your copy.” Church Gist. Amen! And hear what God said to me one day, He said “when I found you as a faithful vendor, I made you an author.” You see, you need empowerment not to look back in serving God, to be pro-His interest. You want others to come out of defeat, out of failure, out of depression, He’s counting.
So for our leadership across board, various Churches and campuses and the NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) platform, get committed. Make God’s business your business – your business will never go down. Make God’s business your business and your business will keep going up and growing up. Make God’s business your business. Don’t hiss and murmur, ‘another meeting again?’ For what? Quit ‘na’! Murmuring will mess up your stewardship. Church Gist. Complaining will complicate your matter. He said ‘I have told you never to say the burden of the Lord because if you say this word, He said, your word shall become your burden.’ Don’t let serving God become a burden. Let it remain a delight.
– And by this empowerment tonight, I see you step into that realm where every assignment where you are, becomes a natural delight!
– You are singing as you are doing it, you are smiling as you are doing it in the name of Jesus!
Very interestingly, serving God secures our active partnership with Him which makes you an unbeatable believer. Romans 8:31. When you are after His business, you have secured His companionship, His partnership, His presence. Church Gist. It makes a world of difference. There are certain things that ‘that’ presence does. Among others:
1. Noiseless breakthroughs. Psalm 24:7. When you are walking in the company of the King of glory, all barriers lift up their heads. Noiseless breakthroughs! The sea saw them, it gave way – they were not pushing it. Let me tell you what I mean. Mark 16:15-20, 2 Timothy 2:6. Church Gist. So if He is confirming the Word with signs following through the Word that you preached that He sent you to do, then the signs and wonders begins with you.
2. This partnership gets the individual wiser by the day. Proverbs 13:20, 1 Corinthians 1:24. So walking with Jesus which serving God secures, gets the believer wiser by the day and can I tell you what? That’s not just wise talk, great statement. No! The wisdom of God is creative. Psalm 104:24, Hebrews 11:3. Church Gist. Walking with Jesus which is what serving God secures, engenders creativity, innovation and inventions which will pervade the World this end time from the Church of Christ. Paul, the Apostle defines it as the manifold wisdom of God in Ephesians 3:8-11. Someone will just see virtue in this strand (pointing to a flower vase) and creates a fortune from it. So there will be waves of creativity, innovation and inventions as men and women begin to walk with God in their quality sacrificial stewardship.
Now, a man by name R.G. LeTourneau, a French roadside mechanic, was an avowed servant of God living by Matthew 6:33 as his golden rule. As a roadside mechanic, God gave him an insight to invent the largest Earth moving equipment of his days called the digger – which supplied over 50 percent of the equipment used in World War II. Today, you have R.G. LeTourneau School of Technology all around America. Church Gist. As an illiterate, he was teaching in the University. God will appear to him and show him how to join the wires. Sir, serving Jesus pays the most, serving Jesus pays the unmatchable. Serving Jesus pays the incomparable.
Michael Faraday was a lab attendant when his master passed on, Humphry Davy was his name. He took over the laboratory. Michael Faraday was a die hard addicted Servant of God. He was a preacher in his Church. Anytime he went for an experiment in any city – “where is the Church here?” Church first. He had 2 years formal education; barely taught himself how to read and write. He was named the Man of science of the 19th century. The Man of science – the Man who never went to school. God first will put you first. You can’t make God first in truth and in deed and be last.
– So, I see front liners here!
– I see emerging giants here!
– I see men that will scale unbelievable heights here!
– I see young ladies and young men that will go places that is far beyond their wildest imagination!
Just stay humble. Even the sky is not the limit. Just stay humble. Church Gist. Possess a quiet and a meek spirit and watch how God will keep decorating your destiny in a grand style.
– So tonight, receive the anointing for sacrificial stewardship!
– Receive the grace to serve God as a seed!
Luke 13:19. So the tiniest one when he becomes sacrificial in his stewardship, emerges a giant beyond people’s imagination by being dedicated. Now why do we need this Anointing as I close? Mark 4:27-29…it’s sacrificial but it comes in phases. The result comes in phases not ‘gbim’, it comes in phases. As you stay sacrificially in your stewardship, the result keeps coming in phases. Mark 4:28. It comes in phases. Church Gist. That’s why we need the power not to be discouraged when we are yet to reach the full corn stage and it keeps coming and coming. After the full corn, we resow again. Then another corn comes – the plantation is getting larger and larger. It keeps you going.
Now listen, what we saw in Kaduna was breakthrough as a Church. In case they are right, we were the largest Church there in the North. What we saw in Lagos was breakthrough but what we saw in Canaan is another level of breakthrough above Lagos. Now, it’s not the last one that we are going to see. So we’re now seeing another one in the Ark. We have seen Him go around 146 Nations so He will clear the remaining. Church Gist. They are all in phases as long as you stay on the ground. The phase will keep coming and coming one after another. Unfortunately, many people among us growing up as believers just packed up after 7 years. Not death, just disconnected. It’s a marathon, we need this Anointing to keep going. Zechariah 4:6. We need the Anointing. People don’t know they need the Anointing. They want to use their skill, their expertise, their experience. No! It’s limited.
Please know that the giant in you does not jump overnight. It comes in phases. The level is changing from one phase to another, another phase to another. Church Gist. But you have to remain on the ground. You have to remain planted for the level to keep changing. Thank you Jesus! John 7:37.

When I saw grace on Hagin, I coveted it and God delivered it. I saw feasible grace on Copeland, I coveted it and God made it happen. I am not a man of much strength but I have an undying heart for God and for the interest of His Kingdom. It’s an unusual grace I have enjoyed over time and it’s freely given to me and is said to be made freely available to whosoever is interested. Now can I tell you this? If we share same depth of heart for God, satan will pack out of our environment. Paul said to that Church “you are all partakers of my grace.” Any grace you see that you genuinely covet for the purpose of serving Him, He lavishes it on you. Church Gist. I have not had a rethink once since I signed that covenant in 1976. ‘Have you had challenges?’ Plenty of them. You will read that in my biography – my share of challenges but ever smiling over them. Challenges make champions. You can’t emerge a champion without challenges. You are challenged to emerge a champion. Amen! I have seen death severally. Death like this (demonstrating), just one second more.
I didn’t know the name but I said “Jesus, whatever made Hagin, Hagin – I want it.” Church Gist. All because I saw depth, I saw life oozing from him and God granted it.
– Yours is granted!
– You will never serve God as a burden anymore!
– The patience required to maximize the returns on stewardship, receive it now!
The patience required! Hebrews 6:12. It takes patience for faith to deliver maximally.
– The patience required for maximum returns on your stewardship, receive it now!
– Grace never to look back as you serve Him, receive it right now!
– Grace not to succumb to the mockers around you, receive it right now!
– Grace to remain stronger by the day in your pursuit of God and His interest, receive it right now! Church Gist. And so shall it be!
– I have never begged, you will never beg!
– You will never beg!
For the labourer is worthy of his hire. It’s not full time or no full time, it’s serving God. I told that my lecturer ‘I am a full time Christian and a part time student.’ You can’t serve God and not be paid. No! Church Gist. He said “the labourer that reaped your field whose wages you kept back by fraud cries.” God does not withhold what belongs to those who serve Him.
– Therefore from now, in the name of Jesus Christ, you will not miss your pay!
When God pays, His pay covers your needs. Not only material, your needs physically, your needs spiritually. Luke 22:35. Did you lack protection? No! Church Gist. You lacked peace? No! You lacked joy? No! You lacked health? No! They lacked nothing.
– Now, I therefore decree that your stewardship will be so openly acceptable!
– It will wipe away every form of needs off your life!
– To my young daughters and sons who are on their NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) and those who are preparing to go, just position yourself for the visitation of God in terms of His manifold wisdom that engenders creativity, innovation and inventions!
– Many will never need to seek for a job!
– You will create jobs for many in the name of Jesus!
For all of us in our various working classes and working places, position yourself for this manifold wisdom of God according to the eternal purpose of God before the end of the World. Church Gist. His eternal purpose is to unleash His manifold wisdom, to bring us out of the needs (the horror) of the World by creating a way for us where there is no way.
– In the name of Jesus, I decree the rise of an army of employers of labour!
– Now the labour market is full – looking for outlets. Church Gist. In the name of Jesus, I decree that many people among us here today will emerge major employers of labour in the name of Jesus!
Now, I can put this in your pocket before I go. Tithing is a mystery. The earlier you get it, the better for you. Tithing is a mystery. Many have tithed to unbelievable greatness in life. Tithing is a mystery. John D. Rockefeller began tithing from a paycheck of 7 dollars 50 cent a week and emerged the first American billionaire in history. (Speaks in tongues) It’s a mystery. Church Gist. The Church does not need it, you need it. I was not a pastor of a Church when He taught me. You need it. You need it, I need it. Amazing testimonies in this Place, in this Commission – strange testimonies.
I know someone who started his tithing here at 40,000 and the multi millions he does today in this same Place. Awesome God! Now, among the blessings that comes along, is access to divine ideas. Malachi 3:10…and when windows are opened, it’s rain that comes and what that rain does is to make your quick understanding ‘peew’ – light! Church Gist. You better position yourself, these are mysteries of life.
– I see you scaling heights!
– You will not miss it!
