WHEN I LOOK AT LANDS OF MINISTRIES LIKE REDEEMED, WINNERS CHAPEL, I BELIEVE THERE IS STILL A FOREST FOR THIS MINISTRY
MOST PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT TO GIVE BUT VERY FEW TAUGHT TO RECEIVE. RECEIVING IS A MAJOR PART OF GREATNESS
MANY PEOPLE HAVE SENT BACK GREAT THINGS COMING THEIR WAY BY THEIR MINDSET. THEY FEEL THEY DON’T DESERVE IT
MANY HAVE RECEIVED JESUS BUT STILL WANT TO DIE FOR THEIR SINS. YOU ARE QUALIFIED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
RECEIVING COMES WITH AGREEING THAT WHAT YOU HAVE CAN DO IT. STOP FEELING INADEQUATE
YOU HAVE TO KEEP PROCLAIMING YOUR VICTORY TO SUSTAIN THE VICTORY
TESTIMONY OF DELIVERANCE OF A WOMAN FROM A HUGE ANIMAL AS SHE KEYED INTO THE RECHARGE CONFERENCE
PASTORS, IF YOU ARE USING BENCHES IN YOUR CHURCH I CHARGE YOU TO UPGRADE! ANYTHING CAN CHANGE IF YOU ARE READY
THERE IS NO SUPERIOR HUMAN BEING ANYWHERE. WHAT MEN HAVE DONE, MEN CAN DO EVEN BETTER
A LOT OF PEOPLE NEED TO MAKE ENQUIRIES TO BREAK GENERATIONAL CURSES
WHEN WE USED TO GIVE CASH, I SELECT THE BEST OF MY NOTES TO GIVE GOD NOT TORN NOTES
THE WAY YOU DO A THING MATTERS TO GOD MORE THAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING. GOD DESIRES EXCELLENT APPLICATION OF THE THINGS YOU LEARN
WHEN I AM GIVING BISHOP OYEDEPO A GIFT THE PACKAGE ITSELF IS A GIFT APART FROM WHAT IS INSIDE
LET EXCELLENCE BE PART OF YOUR ATTITUDE ESPECIALLY TOWARDS KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP
TRANSFORMATION MUST BEGIN WITH ACTIONABLE STEPS. IT IS NOT THE HEARER THAT IS WISE; IT IS THE DOER OF THE WORD
BISHOP OYEDEPO SAID, “MOST OF THE TIME, YOU LOSE THE LIGHT WHEN YOU DON’T TAKE STEPS IMMEDIATELY.”
CONSISTENTLY APPLY THE THINGS YOU ARE LEARNING FOR YOU TO GROW OR YOU REMAIN ON THE SAME PLANE
– Pastor Yemi Davids on “THE COVENANT OF VICTORY” || Recharge Conference 2023 || Covenant Keeping God || Day 4 Morning session || 5th July, 2023 || Global Impact Church
Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV). One of the things you do to avoid wasting this Conference is action orientation – taking steps in time. It’s not enough to say, “I was there; it was a great Conference. Pastor said this, this person did that.” Beyond that, the transformation must begin with actionable steps. Church Gist. It is not the hearer that is wise; it is the doer. The painful thing is that you can be hearing and still remain foolish because you’re not doing what is said to be done. As generations go, it is those who apply the word that the challenges of life will not bring down. Matthew 7:26-27. If you look at it, was the rain the problem? Because those are the things people talk to you about at times. It looks like other people don’t go through the same challenge they have – excuses. The real problem is lack of obedience to the things that we are learning.
I learnt something from Bishop Oyedepo; he said, “Most of the time, you lose it when you don’t take steps immediately.” It’s like the pool of Bethesda or filling the water pots with water. Church Gist. You realize that if you come the next day and put water in the pot, will there be wine? It’s for that time. Let’s put actions to the things we are learning – prompt obedience.
Consistent application to the things you are learning. Church Gist. Not that prompt obedience – you take a step now and by October you are back to Pre-Recharge. No! You remain on that plane.
Excellent application: Genesis 4:1-4 (NKJV). One of the things that turned my life around many years ago was the story of Cain and Abel. Genesis 4:1-4 (NIV). I am not even talking about offerings (though) it’s a part of it; your approach to anything that concerns God matters. Most people do things and they wonder why there is no fruit. The way you do a thing matters to God more than what you are doing. An Usher, an Associate Pastor, they gave you an assignment to do and you’re doing it lackadaisically? God dislikes it. Anything that has to do with him you give it your best shot. Church Gist. I saw the difference between Cain and Abel. You’re singing? Give it your best. Preaching? Give it your best. Anything that has to do with stewardship, that has to do with God? Give it your best shot. Don’t serve God “Cainically” serve God “Abelically.” When I learnt this many years ago, when we used to give cash, I will select the best of my notes to give God. I will never give him all those torn notes; it’s conductor you give all those ones to – in those days.
If your attitude does not change, your walk with God cannot produce the best. Add excellence to applying these things. Genesis 4:4-5 (NIV). It’s not, “Lord give me favour.” Can you behave favour? Cain’s face was downcast because he did not obtain favour. When you’re in this mode, you’re in a dangerous mode because that’s when you start fighting people or some times, fighting a system. Church Gist. The question is, who are you angry with? Is it Abel’s fault for God to look on him with favour? People get to this mode, “I’ve been there for many years…” But how have you been? The lesson this thing taught me is: may somebody else’s steward not reduce your own to nothing. So just strive to be the best. I am not saying you should try and out give somebody. Just give your best because Abel just “spoiled the show” for this man. Genesis 4:6-7 (NIV). This changed my life.
When I am giving people gift or anything, I try to package it well. Let excellence be part of your attitude. When I am giving my pastor a gift I don’t just … The package itself is a gift apart from what is inside. Honour God in worship. Even when you’re going to Church, the way you dress is everything. Everything you do, remember Abel. Unfortunately, Abel was very naive and his brother killed him. May be I should ask somebody this morning: why are you angry? Church Gist. If you had done it right, would your result or fruit not be better? Who are you angry with? It’s either you are behaving like Cain or like Abel. When God gives you anything, treat it like God gave it to you. Clean it up, let it be heavenly. We honour God with everything. Don’t do anything for him like it’s for your neighbour or your younger person. He will just look away. He loves you, he doesn’t hate Cain but he looked away and favoured Abel. This happens from Genesis to Revelation; you see those differences there.
Somebody was honouring Jesus, a disciple was saying they should have used that to give to the poor like his master does not deserve it, it’s too much for him. Jesus said shut up; they will remember this one. Pastors in the house, I know we are all works in progress but whatever auditorium you have or facility, give it your best shot. Paint it, repair the benches if you are using benches though I charge you by the end of next week you should not use benches again. Where there is a will, there is a way – upgrade! It’s not money, it’s vision then there will be provision. Anything can change if you’re ready.
There was a testimony we got that a woman was in her own salon and she was part of the afternoon prayers yesterday. A huge animal (I think Salamander) fell from the ceiling of the salon in Isolo not that it is in the village. When I saw the picture this morning I was shocked. How can this thing be in the ceiling? Whether it is spiritual or physical, it’s deliverance.
I was talking about Covenant of Victory yesterday. 1 Samuel 17:48-49. When you’re confronted with a challenge we said, say it and then do it.
Goliath represents humongous problems, ministry challenges, family matters, but the first thing is, say your victory. Matthew 9:21. You need to say it. Then you now take steps; some of those steps are scriptural steps. We talked about singing, praying, giving. Take your own step of the covenant then it provokes God’s part of the covenant. There are other steps that matter to you which could be opening a new foreign account, registering your business, applying for courses, enquiries. Some people are afraid to make enquiries. Just ask the consultant, “how much is this thing?” Like Pastor Godman said yesterday, many of those frying pans needs to be broken. In our family we have broken many not just fry pans but fry pots; many things I grew up with and thank God for mentors. Think differently; my mindset is: there is no superior human being anywhere. What men have done, men can do even better. I may not know how it will happen but the moment it is stirred up in my heart, I launch out and everything begins to just match up. There is no nation I cannot enter except God didn’t send me there. I will start asking for the visa process.
I was at the Airport one day, I came from a trip and I saw a particular plane, “United Airline.” I liked the plane and I said I must enter this one before 3 months time. I entered about 3 weeks after. So when I’m watching CNN and I see something, a particular nation I feel I need to see this place, I go for it and it happens. It’s just to make enquiries. It breaks generational barriers. You make enquiries – how much do they sell the land in that place? If you hear the first one you can shout, by the second one you loosen up, by the third time you start shaking your body. A lot of people need to make enquiries to break generational curses.
You can live anywhere in the world except God didn’t send you there. You can live in Kazakhstan, Afghanistan if God sends you there but there is nothing that is impossible.
3. Receive it: you are qualified by the blood of Jesus Christ. Many people don’t know how to receive things. It’s as simple as you’re greeting the person, “you’re looking very nice,” and they say, “don’t deceive me.” Some say, “It’s not me, it’s the grace of God.” Like they don’t deserve it. Can’t you say, ‘thank you?’ Church Gist. The prodigal son, I salute him. When the guy left, he said I will tell him, “I am not worthy to become your son, make me as one of your servants.” But when he got back they made him a son. Some people will reject it and say, no, I don’t deserve it. So when great things are coming your way you have sent it back by your mindset.
Receiving is a major part of greatness. Do you know what it means for Joseph to stand before Pharoah? The gap is very wide. We have presidents now, one term, 2 terms. Pharaoh’s of those days is a life time and they are gods. In fact when they die, they join the other ancestral gods. Joseph was not an Egyptian. Church Gist. They called him from the prison to stand before Pharaoh. If you’re not careful you will use shyness to spoil everything. You’re humble, but you’re bold. He (Joseph) stood and talked and they promoted him. The same thing with Daniel.
Most have been taught to give. Very few have been taught to receive. One pastor was sharing about receiving and said somebody was asking him, “what’s your shirt size?” He told him the shirt size and the shoe size – in case he does not know the other sizes. Many received Jesus but still want to die for their sins. That’s one of the challenges in Africa today. Many of the messages we preach is still like we have not been redeemed. Church Gist. Many people want to purchase it. So you find somebody preaching on, “favour,” they raise offering for favour. They preach on deliverance and you give a seed for deliverance. Almost like you are paying for that thing. It’s bad! Giving is not wrong but what are you trying to do to pay for your sins? He paid for it, now use the name, the angels, the Word.
There are some seats if they give you and you’re not careful you will be sitting half way. Sit, then thank God and ask him for grace to stay well on the seat but sit because opportunities are coming your way this second half. Church Gist. They say, can you do this? (Reply -) I can; I’ll get back to you tomorrow. Call your friends, partner with them. Don’t say our own events company we only do for 27 people; we can’t do for 2,700. You can do it but ask God for wisdom.
When I look at those lands that ministries have like Redeemed, Winners Chapel, I believe there is still a forest for this ministry. Church Gist. There is a forest and there are many forests. We will get our own forest. This one is a trial for the forest. Matthew 5:14. Say it, do it, receive it.
Receiving it also comes with agreeing that what you have can do it because some times the reason people don’t receive it is that they are feeling inadequate. How would you use a sling and a stone to bring down Goliath? If you weigh that with the challenge, you will believe you can’t have victory. Church Gist. So the talents, gifts, network you have is enough. When you understand that dimension you believe that God can use you at any level. You have to receive what God has given you.
Pastor Godman shared his testimony with me yesterday night. One of their members works in Guinness and her nanny said she wants to be sewing clothes at home. So they bought her small machine and she sewed one Bubu for madam as a gift. Madam wore the Bubu to office meeting. Office scatter: “who sewed this Bubu for you?” Before she knew what was happening, they ordered for 200. The nanny was sewing. After some few months she had to go and meet the Oga: I have to resign (from Guinness). They said why? She said Bubu. Church Gist. They gave her 3 months with full pay to go and think, “are you okay?” She said yes. Now that nanny is collecting times 10 of her money. They have 10 industrial machines. People are ordering from all over the world. It’s like madness. 30,000, 40,000 Bubu.
– May God send me that kind of nanny o! The house help that will change my story.
4. Keep telling it; keep saying the victory: Genesis 17:5 (NKJV). You keep proclaiming who you are. The telling it perfects it. Church Gist. The saying seals it. Many stop with the receiving or with the doing and they now stop speaking and the thing seems like it is hanging. You have to keep proclaiming it and the victory is sustained.
– This decade belongs to us in the name of Jesus! Allow God use you for his glory!
