Immortal, invincible, The only Wise God, Glory be to your Holy Name. The One who is greater than the greatest, Higher than the highest, Stronger than the strongest, Older than the oldest, Wiser than the wisest, we bow before You. Church Gist. Father we rejoice in knowing that you’re Our Daddy, that we belong to You. And that we belong to you Almighty, because We know You love Us, We know We are more than conqueror. Father accept Our Worship in Jesus name. Today, in the lives of all your Children, My Saviour please do something new. As your Word is going forth, let the power in the Word bring Healings and Deliverance and Victory and Joy to each and every one of Us. In Jesus Mighty name We have prayed. Amen.

Praise Ye the Lord! Now wave to one or two people, just wish them whatever you wish to yourself.

We are continuing with our series “GOING HIGHER” as we now move on to part 75. We will just look at 1 Kings 21:20. We want to let those of us who want to go higher in the Lord, we want you to realize we will have enemies. Last Sunday, I was encouraging you to go warn people that Our God is a God of vengeance. Church Gist. There will be people who will consider you a nuisance for warning them. Church Gist. They don’t want to be disturbed. They want you to leave them to live their lives the way they want to and let them enjoy. Don’t remind them that sooner or later they will die. Don’t remind them that death is not the main issue.

It is written that, “it is appointed unto man to die, after that judgement.” “Please don’t mention judgement to us, leave us alone. Church Gist. Let us keep on believing that we can’t die; we are in control, there is no hell, no Heaven, we are doing fine.” But you must warn them and when you warn them they will hate you.

I have given this illustration before: your Father is sleeping in an air conditioned room and He put a sign by his door – “please don’t disturb.” Church Gist. And then you discovered that the house is on fire and you rush to your Father’s room to go and wake Him up so He can escape from fire. As you get there, you see the sign boldly, “don’t disturb.” What will be your choice? Church Gist. “Let Papa keep sleeping because if I disturb Him, He will be angry with me. Allow him to burn to death so that I won’t become His enemy because if he’s upset, he is not going to pay my school fees.”

You will have enemies; take note of that. The world is operated on what the mathematicians will call a binary system. Church Gist. In the simplest way we can explain it is the way a computer operates: Light on, light off. So when you see your computer blinking, that’s what is going on: light on, light off. On is one; off is zero. That’s all you need; two numbers to solve any problem.

The world is operated on a binary system. What is the binary system of the world? Good and evil, light and darkness, friends and enemies. Church Gist. They come in twos. James 1:17 talks about God; He is good. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him. The Father of lights is pure light; no variableness or any kind of shadows. John 10:10 puts the two together. Church Gist. That’s one fellow on one side. Then Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” – enemy, friend. Superbly the two greatest words in the whole world would be LOVE and HATE. John 3:16

And how do you describe the one who has come to steal from you? And what he cannot steal he kills? Church Gist. And what he can’t kill he destroys? – other than hate? And you have to choose between the two. Matthew 6:24.

So if we are talking of going higher in the Lord, you just know you have to choose between the world, and Heaven. Those are other 2 words in the binary system. That’s why in 1 John 2:15-17. Church Gist. You just have to make up your mind because I am sure many of us will say, “But I have already chosen God, I love Him.” Well, as we go further we will probably discover whether you truly love Him or you don’t.

If you are truly on the side of God, you must have enemies. John 15:19. Your Christianity is meaningless if you are that kind of Christian that you don’t have any confrontation with forces of darkness. If everybody loves you, if all the agents of the devil love you, then we need to find out on whose side are you. Church Gist. This is because in 1 John 4:4, what does He mean by you overcoming? You don’t talk of overcoming if there is no competition, no struggle, fight. Matthew 5:14-16; Ephesians 5:8. If you claim to be a Christian and your level of Christianity makes everybody feel at peace with you, check your salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 makes it clear: there can’t be concord between light and darkness. You can’t belong to God and belong to a secret society. Church Gist. You cannot belong to God and people will not hate you even in your office. You cannot belong to God and be a compromiser. You cannot be a true Christian and the people around you will not know it.

When light is on, everybody pays attention. So you have a choice: either belong to the devil according to John 8:44; you know what the devil stands for – he that sinneth is of the devil. Church Gist. If you want to belong to the devil, belong to the devil fully. Let everybody know that you are really on his side.

The Archbishop of Canterbury was sharing with me, a couple of weeks ago, when we met in London. He said he met a man somewhere in Africa. He had only a 130 wives. I said I like that man. That’s the kind of man I like. Let people know where you belong to; show it. Church Gist. I hate a man who says he has one wife; and then, there are so many concubines outside. Come out into the open; let’s know on whose side you are. Or, if you choose to be on the side of the Lord, 1 Peter 1:14-16, James 4:8, I want you to know that you have to seek Him diligently; not casually – Hebrews 11:6 – with all your heart, your soul, strength, (Deuteronomy 6:4-5).

The Almighty God made it clear: there is no room for lukewarmness. If you want to be on the side of the Lord, be on the side of the Lord. Revelation 3:15-16. Listen to me: the worst kind of Christians are those who are holding with one hand to God and one hand to the world. Church Gist. Why? They bring reproach to God because people will say, “But you say you are a Christian.” You know the children of this world occasionally will come to somebody who is a Christian looking at his behaviour and say, “But you call yourself a child of God.” that is the most painful statement anybody can make concerning you. In other words they are saying, “Look, we know we belong to the side of the devil; but you are supposed to belong on the side of God. Church Gist. How come you are behaving like us?” if anybody had ever said that one to you, you should run and hide and refuse to come out until you know your salvation is genuine.

You must have enemies. Why? Because your light is going to irritate their darkness. John 1:5 – put that in plain language: there is a confrontation between light and darkness and light wins; and darkness doesn’t like it. John 3:19. Church Gist. If darkness loves you, it doesn’t matter what title you are bearing. You can call yourself, “Most Superior General Overseer”, you are still a child of the devil. This is because the Bible made it abundantly clear: it’s by their fruit we shall know them. Hebrews 1:9 made it abundantly clear: you want anointing? Church Gist. You must not only love righteousness; you must hate iniquity. Love and hate. Love righteousness; hate iniquity. Then you are ready for anointing.

There is no middle way. You are either in God or out of God. James 4:4. You are a friend of the world? You are an enemy of God. I am making this thing as plain as I can. I pray the Holy Spirit will let you get the gravity of what I am telling you today. Church Gist. You cannot be a true child of God and live like the child of the devil. It is not allowed. But I have good news for you, you know: if you choose to be 100 per cent on the side of God, your success will irritate the failure of those who are on the other side. It will challenge them when they see God rewarding you for diligently seeking Him; they will be irritated. Genesis 26:1-17. It pays to stay in the place of holiness. Church Gist. It may take some time before people will realize it but God will prove Himself faithful in the lives of those who will say, ‘No no, I am not compromising. I am staying permanently with my God.’ and sooner or later, those people who say, ‘Get away from us’ will come to you and say, ‘Please, we come to bow.’ Genesis 26:26-33. They will come and say, ‘You were right all along.’ I’ll tell you a story and we pray.

A son of mine was employed in a bank as a cashier because that’s the limit of his qualification. Then one day, the Chairman of the bank sent him on an errand: from Yaba to Apapa and gave him money for taxi. And it was in the days when Naira was still powerful. Church Gist. He gave him One Naira for taxi to and fro. He waited for taxi; couldn’t get one on time, so he took a bus. And went by bus, came back by bus and spent only One Shilling. One Shilling means 10 per cent of One Naira.

When he arrived, he went to the Chairman and gave him the change. ‘Sir, taxi didn’t come so I took a bus.’ Oh God! That day he was ridiculed. Everybody laughed at him – ‘SU, foolish Christian, what’s wrong with you? You are sent on an errand, you delivered the message, the money they gave you…’ Church Gist. He said, ‘… if Oga says keep the balance, that’s a different matter. This is how much I spent.’

About a year later, the Chairman decided that it is time for his bank to have a branch in Ilorin. And he sat down and said, ‘Who can I trust 10 per cent?’ Church Gist. Then he remembered that boy. And the Cashier became a branch manager. Those who were laughing at him didn’t laugh on that day. They knew he was right all along.

I am praying for those of you who would decide from this moment onwards that you will be 100 per cent for God. No compromise at all; that you will love righteousness, you will hate iniquity. May the Almighty God anoint you with oil of gladness above all your fellows. Church Gist. As for those of you who claim, ‘I am a good fellow, I am not fighting anyone, the fact that I am not a Christian doesn’t matter…’ It does. If you are not for Christ, you are against Him. So you have to choose today: you are either for God or you are for the devil.
