- Bishop David Oyedepo at Covenant Hour of Prayer || 20th June 2022 Lord Jesus thank you again for proven answers to prayers as we saw in our services yesterday. Receive our thanks in the name of Jesus. Now we are here at your feet to hear from you, let no one return without a word from you. Amen.
Destiny answers largely to mentality. Proverbs 23:7, 4:23. The outcome of our life is a product of our thoughts, so we need the right mentality to secure our desired future. No one ever arrives at a future that He can not see. Genesis 13:14-15. The eyes of our mind must see through scriptures what God has ordained for our future. Church Gist. You can’t see it? He can’t give it. What you can not see, God cannot give. Faith delivers only on what is expected. Hebrews 11:1. It must be expected before it becomes evidence. What is not expected, faith can not deliver. Faith thrives on the believer’s expectation. We must have an expectation before we can enjoy His manifestation.
This week our exhortation is captioned, ENGAGING BIBLICAL MENTALITY FOR PROFITABLE STEWARDSHIP. In stewardship, we must possess a sower’s mentality. Every spiritual labour is recognized as a seed in the scriptures. Proverbs 14:23. Galatians 6:7-8. Engagement in spiritual things makes living most profitable. You don’t reap things, you reap life. You reap things by which all men live. You reap joy, you reap peace, you reap strength, you reap prosperity. It is life. Anna and Epaphras were sowing spiritual seeds of prayers. Luke 2:37. Church Gist. Anna served God night and day, which was prolonging her life. She lived with a husband for seven years only and has been serving the Lord since that time. Colossians 4:12. Prayer labour is an investment. It is a seed we are sowing into matters of the spirit, we are sowing into what the spirit of God is doing in our time. Praying kingdom advancement prayers is a matter of the spirit.
While seed sown may not bring forth overnight, the harvest time is always sure. Mark 4:26-29. Every genuine spiritual seed secures a future harvest. Galatians 6:9. The harvest comes in terms of life and life more abundantly. Church Gist. Engage in praying kingdom advancement prayer with a sower’s mentality. Hebrews 6:10. One of the ways we minister to the needs of people is on the prayer altar. God never forgets, He records to reward. God records our input to reward us. 1 Corinthians 3:8, Galatians 6:8. Life is the most valuable asset to every living soul. When life is threatened, everything else loses value. Let’s invest on the prayer altar with a sower’s mentality.
Matthew 6:6
Reward is not making requests. Making requests is answers. Reward means you are serving God in your closet on the altar of prayer. He will reward you openly. When you make requests, you receive answers, when you serve God you receive rewards. Matthew 6:9-10. Church Gist. He showed us the pattern of the prayer that He rewards. Kingdom focused prayer. Matthew 6:17-18. We pray and fast for the advancement of God’s kingdom, He sees it in secret to reward us openly. Let’s possess a sower’s mentality, it will keep us actively engaging on the prayer altar.
1 Corinthians 15:58.
Epaphras was labouring steadily and in all labour, there is profit (Proverbs 14:23). A mentality will keep us going, keep us thriving in our kingdom advancement endeavours. What an awesome God we serve.
Doing the right things has no lifespan. Doing the right things has no expiry date. Even nature teaches us, 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 because God is the creator of nature. Breathing is the right thing to do to stay alive. It has no expiry date, when you stop breathing you expire. When you vow to stop eating, you have vowed to go out of life. Doing the right things has no expiry date. You may not like going to the toilet but you have no choice. Somebody cannot say I have not slept for two years. Church Gist. If you have not slept for two years, you are a dead man. There is no way. That’s an exaggeration. It is what you must do to keep the body refreshed. It doesn’t matter if you are President of the largest nation in the world, you will need to sleep. You don’t sleep, after some time your brain will go upside down. You look at your wife and say “where are you from?”.
Serving God is the right thing to do. Everything you will ever need is in it. May you receive grace never to back out.
Prayers: Lift your hands and receive that grace to maintain a sower’s mentality in your stewardship. It is not lost, people may not see it now but it will soon grow. The blade will soon show up, soon the fruit.
You are investing in a glorious future, get excited about it. No one ever emerges as a Captain in Aviation without logging an adequate number of hours. See every hour of genuine investment on the altar of prayer as been logged until you emerge a captain. You don’t emerge a captain by how many years you have been in Aviation. Church Gist. You emerge a captain by how many hours you have logged in the air. You are not a captain by walking around town, you are a captain by flying in the air. That is how to become a Captain. Many Captains will arise here by logging hours in pushing kingdom advancement endeavours on the altar of prayer in their secret places. That is the way it walks. God is marking.
This week will mark the end of every form of barrenness in everyone’s life. Physical barrenness, spiritual barrenness, this week will end it. Business and career barrenness. Every negative medical verdict, God will reverse it.
The week is declared your week. It shall be a most fruitful week for you. May the blessings of the Father speak in your favour. May it cause you to prevail where others travail. No weeping, no wailing, no mourning. God has turned your mourning into dancing.
