The 8 Cs of Exponential Growth Part 1.
You may be seated in the presence of the Lord.
I’ve written 108 books and produced a Bible. Yea, I worked with Cambridge university press to produce a Bible which has 15,000 prayer points and so on and so forth. It may be out there, I don’t know, but I’ve been teaching on wealth creation. Church Gist. I did in the morning – looks like three quarter of what I’ll share tonight has to do with wealth creation. So, we brought some of the books such as “Coming Wealth Transfer” – God wants to transfer wealth to you. Anytime there’s crises in the world, it gives God the opportunity to transfer wealth to you.
Second book here says “The Laws of Wealth Creation” – why do unbelievers create wealth and Christians are struggling? It’s because some Christians do not know that laws guard wealth creation. It’s just like the law of nature. If I climb this building, and I say because of I’m anointed, I’ll jump down, I’ll meet with concrete justice because I’ve broken the law of gravity. Or, if I go to MPA and say because I’m a man of God, I’ll dive into the sea and I don’t know how to swim, I’ve broken the law of floatation which says, “anything without a hollow cannot float but anything with a hollow can float”. That’s why you’ll see ship wey be 10 floors, the thing dey float. Person wey no get hollow, just one person like this, him sink because he has broken the law of floatation.
Same thing with wealth, there are laws that underguard it. Once you obey the law; that’s why you now see unbeliever obey the law and they are increasing. This morning, we were blessed by the teaching – the need for you to have work of hand. You need to create your store house by owning your own company. Your children cannot inherit your job at MPA but they can inherit your company. Church Gist. You can put everything you know, everything you have in a company – company saves you from too much tax – so I wrote a book on reasons why you should have one. This one (raising his book up), I taught them how to perpetuate wealth – 7 steps in the pyramid of wealth.
Number 6 (in the book) was “shield your wealth”. Many don’t know how to shield it so they waste it. So today, musicians go dey sing about Benz, tomorrow there’s nothing. Today’s either Vanguard or ThisDay, they were interviewing Kola Abiola, I was reading it in the plane. His father left so many companies but there’s nothing left. Abiola Bookshop, Concord Newspaper, Concord Airlines, Wander Loaves, Abiola Farms, he had a telecommunications company, so many! All, disappeared including airline. Some of you never even heard of Concord, the thing just disappeared because it’s not enough to create the wealth. What’s important is to know how to save it.

Matthew 13:3-9
God’s desire is your success. He says, I wish above how many things? (All things). God’s highest wish (that’s what that verse means) is that you should succeed. I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health as thy soul prospereth – 3 Dimensional Success. Church Gist. Prosper (that’s financial), be in good health (that’s physical), as your soul prospereth (that’s spiritual).
2 Chronicles 26:5
God made everything he did to prosper. Another translation says to succeed. So it is the desire of God for you to prosper. Hebrew word there is “Barak”. For you to barak, for you to be prosperous, for you to make for progress. Exponential growth is different. It is going beyond incremental success. I’m taking you somewhere probably you’ve not heard tonight.
Incremental minds focus on something better. I’m an employer of staffs in England. I have probably about 65 staff, I don’t know how many I have in Nigeria because I have a few companies but the worse staff is a good staff. You say, “what are you talking about?” Good people are not easy to sack but they are not the best. You need extraordinary. Church Gist. So, exponential is not good, it is extraordinary. The reason many people live in the land of average is because they are satisfied with increasing, they are not satisfied with exponential. Exponential man focuses on making things different not fitting, no matter what name they called you because the day you choose exponential success, vision and way of doing things, somebody go carry gossip about you – “na yahoo he dey do, na jazz”.
They don’t realise you have a dream for exponential success. Mega successful people and companies have a mindset of exponential success. 17 years ago, 2004, a young man started something simple called Facebook. Today it’s 750 billion dollars richer. No company grows like that except it is exponential. 750 billion dollars no be beans o. It’s more than Nigeria’s income for 10 years, na hin one boy wey never reach 40 years old o, na him start. That’s exponential. The 10 biggest companies on earth right now did not exist 35 years ago, Microsoft is the only one that is even up to 35. Google started in 1996, how old is that? And Google is worth trillion dollars. Pastor Korede, the whole of the GDP of Africa is less than 2 trillion and Google alone is one trillion.
Such a mindset is required to confront ambitious moments that will arise – making exponential decisions. A man left China 15 years ago, cannot speak English, studied technology in one of China’s universities, lands in California, nobody wants to employ him because he can’t speak English. He manages to find one company called WebCo, joins them. They make telephone that can make people talk on video – 3 to 4 – he began to work on it and show them how that they can go beyond 4 people and make it 15 people. Church Gist. They accept him but Americans look down on him because he can’t speak English. He kept retraining himself. Gradually from when they had him as technician, he became technical manager to senior technical manager to Director, Technicals to Vice President, Technical. They still were discriminating against him. He kept working on it.
He kept telling them, “you can create a system where people can meet 100 people using a phone”. They looked at him, they said, “it’s not possible. Microsoft could not do it. This company could not do it. You want to do it?”. The man created a system where 1000 people can meet using a telephone. He had to go, borrowing money. Some people just trusted him, loaned him money. Boom! The company rose to 300 million. Just when you thought it was big deal, covid came. And when COVID came, there was no way for churches to meet, companies to meet without ZOOM.
Today, within 2 and half years, ZOOM went from 300 million to 115 billion dollars. Whether he know how to speak English or he no know, who cares? When you blow, people wey no fit call your name, “ehn, edopolo, odopolopolo”, dem go call am. Church Gist. The man now, suddenly the world wants to know who he is. When he came in, they actually booked to see some of them. They said they don’t want to see him. Suddenly, New York Times, people are now saying, “without a doubt, no one can yet match the standard, quality, the level of ZOOM”. Everyone who tried, once they go pass 20 people in the system, the picture will be wobbly. Exponential thinking, attitude and success.
The biggest problem of the Nigerian person is not applying himself. We have the capacity, even in church, sometimes churches don’t have the exponential attitude. There are churches I’ve been to preach and I don’t want to go back even if they offer me the world. You just see that they take what you have shared with levity. They do not get the message, they are not hungry. A conference like this should make you sleepless. If they told you that the CD is not (I don’t know how much they sell CD, we don’t sell it in England – I don’t sell this teaching. You have to go online and pay to watch it because anything people buy cheaply, they treat it cheaply). Anything they call it, you say, “hitherto, I’ll take”.
Many do not have hunger and yet they want success. They think success in the first place is driving a big car around Japa and Efurun with siren in front of you. That’s not success, that’s noise. Some also think it’s when you wear designer shoe. You show like this, they say “eh! Guy don come!” Church Gist. Exponential success. Anything with momentum does not just move, it accelerates. The only limit is set by yourself. The worst discrimination in life is self discrimination. A fixed mindset tends to hold people back from success. You ask some people, “why are you not doing well?” They reply, “I have no man”.
The man by the pool of Bethsaida, Jesus asked him, “why are you in this place?” He had already rehearsed the answer. Have you met people like that? They’ve already rehearsed the answer to give as to why they are where they are.
“Why are you here?”
“I have no man”
The one standing before you, is he a woman? The King of all kings was standing before him, the Son of God was standing before him and yet his answer was, “I have no man”. He said, “even when I want to move, others are faster than me. They get to the water when an angel comes to stir the water”. Church Gist. When you lack exponential thinking and you give excuse, you stay in the same place. Your mind becomes fixed. Some of us, not that we’re not making progress, it is incremental instead of exponential. We plan incremental – today we are four, tomorrow, we plan to be six, tomorrow we plan to be seven. That’s increase.
Everyone can become blessed. You can be wealthy, you can grow, your ministry and business can grow but you need to recognise this – that my attitude can determine my altitude. Many have seen addition to their lives but what we are talking about is not addition. We’re talking Exponential Success. Some have experienced some degree of multiplication. Exponential Prosperity is possible. You just need to do what people did right but do it in a way that will experience exponential wealth. You find a problem and solve it. Don’t follow passion, don’t find a passion, don’t say “I’m pursuing my passion”. Find a problem, that’s all.
You know, I was one of the people that used to teach people, “pursue your passion”. Don’t pursue passion, no pursue passion. Na passion make some people go sit down for some place say, “one day, I go blow. My passion na music”, carry guitar up and down. Put the guitar aside. Find a problem people are facing and solve problem. Church Gist. Even in ministry, people are drawn to a church that has answers to certain issues. Nobody goes to the church of rolling stones. Find a problem. Mark Zuckerberg is solving a connectivity problem, the man who created ZOOM became the saviour of the world in the area of communication. People were holding weddings on ZOOM. Graduation of universities, on ZOOM. Everything was ZOOM, ZOOM,ZOOM.
He found a problem. They mocked him when he noticed the problem. In finance, it’s not difficult for you to receive the first million God wants to bring into your life. It is how to now move exponentially to levels beyond that, that matters. Make a decision today. For example, to experience exponential wealth, you must make a decision, “I want God to prosper me. I want to be wealthy so I can make a difference. I also want to work hard to make it happen”. Then you begin to work hard. You don’t sit down and just be singing and cross your leg like the girl who was in the plane with me this morning – Teni. You cross your leg and you’re singing, “I wanna be a billionaire”. No, no, no, you go, you work. Even Jesus worked. He said, “my father worketh and hitherto, I do”.
Then, be frugal with yourself. Don’t spend everything God has given you. Put it back, invest it. That’s what we taught this morning. That’s how you become exponential. Any billionaire you know today, 87% of today’s wealthy men are self made or rather, they did not inherit wealth because as a matter of fact, I can tell you, that in the history of Nigeria, I know only 3 or 4 families that have created 4 generations of wealth. Church Gist. Others, their children will blow it. The fathers made it, the children spent it. There are some cases – the fathers made it, the children maintained it, the grand children blew it. There are names we will mention here today and you will say, “where is the money?”. Big names from here, from anywhere. Eastern Nigeria – Ekeledilichukwu, where is it? It’s gone. Western Nigeria – Darosha, S.B Bakare, Abiola, all those names. Where are they?
One of the names I just mentioned, Darosha, was a returned slave, very wealthy, he drew water from Iju to Victoria Island, the government could not do it. He was the one who created Water Works from Iju to Victoria Island. His great grandson just sold the last house. Instead of exponential, this one is expiry.
So, what is Exponential Success?
Its your ability, your level to rise beyond imagination. It is influenced by hard work. It is when you take an opportunity everybody has and you exceed everyone. So, Jesus tells us of a farmer who went out to sow seed. He was using a method in farming which we call “broadcast” because I used to have a rice farm. Church Gist. Not a big one, just 100 acres and we could do broadcast. Broadcast is when you throw the seed and you could do deliberate one where the machine is planting it in rows so that when you come to harvest, it’s easier to harvest. My rice farm has two massive harvesters. It harvests it, cleans it and bags it as it is driving.
But this man is broadcasting, he throws the seed. Some seed fell by the way side, just like the word, and it died because it was by the way side. Birds, demonic entities – birds can be symbols of demonic entities in the Bible. The man who had baked bread on his head and birds ate it after 3 days. Some people do not progress because they leave room for demonic entities. The second group – the seed fell but it was on stony ground. You know, there are some people, no matter what you teach, they have an excuse. You tell them, “solve problem!” They say, “na problem we go solve? Just give me money jor. Which problem? Wahala dey o. I just want the money”. And so, with their stony ground, they reject what could have been a fire brand in their spirit to make them change and so they don’t see solution.
And so, the seed that was dropped on their stony ground dies because there’s no moisture, food, nutrient. I planted 7 plantain trees in front of my house where I live in Lekki. The one by the water, BOOOOM! Grew immediately, 4 metres. The one that is away from the water is still there, this size (demonstrating the shortness of the plant). The third set of seeds Jesus mentioned, He said it fell among thorns that have choked it – the cares of the world. Church Gist. You know, some of us, we just took the baton from our fathers. We run the same thing. We wake up in the morning and rush to work, come back home and have some food, watch television and go to bed. The cycle is repeated. The same thing wey your grandpapa do, wey your papa do, until your head come change like my own change colour. And you didn’t sit down and say, “wait a minute, there has to be another way. Life can’t be like this”. That was the third seed.
But then, there was a fourth seed. The fourth set of seed fell on good ground. But then, that’s where we are going tonight. Even the one that fell on good ground, they did not produce the same thing. One produced 30 fold. You see, in rice farming, you keep the best seed. They all come from the same bag, you put them in a bag. You protect the seed from rodent, from insect, you spray chemical there to make sure nothing destroys the seed because the seed determines your harvest. Now you now took the seed, you threw it on the same good ground o but one seed come decide say, him just wan increase, him no want exponential. So it grows to 30 fold. They are in the church – 30 fold people.
They received the same word from Pastor Korede, 30 fold. No matter what the pastor preach, 30 fold. They write a song around their 30 fold, “I’m satisfied with…”, they are always suspending their happiness till they reach heaven. Wetin happen here? When Jesus said, “in this world, you will have 100 fold!” Church Gist. Suspending, so they settle with a 30 fold. I came with a mandate for your release. They were taken from the same bag, they were spread by the same sower, they had the same level of seed but you see, volition, nature also reacted to the seed same way because the principle of seed increase is this, “when seed falls to the ground, gravity pulls it down (the root), nature pulls the fruit up”. But this one said, “no push me too much o. I just want to survive”. 30 fold.
It is the 30 fold thinking that pushes young men and women to yahoo yahoo, looking for quick solutions. It is the 30 fold thinking, you’ll be hearing of people killing a human being, looking for somebody’s hand and head, carry am go meet babalawo. Then the babalawo come say, “if you use this one, na N10 he go dey produce”. Meanwhile, they’ve wasted the life when there is an answer. Just apply yourself. The seed chose not to rise beyond the 30 fold. Then, there was a second one. You see, 30 fold is addition. 60 fold is multiplying. There is the 60 fold level. It did better. The same scripture says, “the seed fell, some came out 30 fold, some came out 60 fold but there is the one that came out 100 fold”.
In Genesis 26, when Isaac sold, the Bible says he had a 100 fold return. You have a benefit. Did you know? You have the benefit of Grace.
