14th January 2016: The World Health Organization declares West Africa Ebola-free. The epidemic was reported to have originated in Guinea in December 2013 with the first case in Nigeria reported in July 2014 from a Liberian traveller- Patrick Sawyer who had arrived Nigeria and went to Canaanland, Ota before being admitted at a hospital in Obalende, Lagos State. Amidst so much fear over Ebola, Bishop David Oyedepo had declared in September 2014 from Psalm 91 that: “Ebola is cursed and goes back to the sea. The presence of the Ark of the Lord in West Africa rejects it. The Apostolic unction on my life rejects it.” Afterwards, testimonies emerged of Ebola recoveries even without a vaccine ready.
14th January 1501: Martin Luther enrolls to study at the University of Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany at the age of 17. He was a German Theologian who began the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century.
14th January 1739: George Whitefield is ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church. He was the Preacher who began America’s first Great Awakening. He was known for his open-air preaching after some ministers denied him the use of their pulpits.
14th January 2018: Archbishop Dr. Silas Owiti goes to be with the Lord. He was the Founder of the Voice of Salvation and Healing Church International in Kenya.
