29th May 1981: Brother David Oyedepo begins a a weekly teaching fellowship meeting called ‘Faith Liberation Hour’ about 4 weeks after he received the ‘Liberation Mandate’ on 1st – 2nd May, 1981.

29th May, 1993: Pastor David Olatunji Abioye is consecrated as Bishop. At just 32 years and 2 months old, he is the youngest Pastor to be consecrated as a Pentecostal Bishop in Nigeria.

29th May 2022 : Prelate Emeritus Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kalu Uche was abducted along with two other Clergymen, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri, Right Reverend Okechukwu Michael and then Prelate’s Chaplain, at the Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State, along Enugu-Port Harcourt highway.  The Prelate Emeritus, Methodist Church Nigeria was released after the Church paid N100 million ransom to their captors who were alleged to be ‘foreign herdsmen from Mali and Sudan’.

29th May, 1967: Pope Paul VI names 27 new cardinals, including then-Archbishop of Krakow, Poland, Karol Wojtyla, who later became Pope John Paul II.
