9th March, 1983: Saliu Aliyu Olayiwola (Testimony, Mr Jaga) is born. He is a Gospel Singer with a blend of Apala and Fuji which he brands “Fujipop”. He is the pioneer of street gospel movement. JAGA stands for Jesus Associate God Ambassador”.

9th March, 2010: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeals for calm following sectarian massacre of more than 500 Christians on Sunday, 7th March, 2010 near the Nigerian city of Jos, that sparked international shock and outrage.
Residents of 3 predominantly Christian settlements: Dogo Nahawa village, Zot village and Berom community near Jos said Muslim herders from surrounding hills launched what appeared to be reprisal attacks in the early hours of the day following sectarian clashes which killed hundreds in January, 2010.

9th March, 1845: The First Church Missionary Society (CMS) Church at Badagry opened for worship. The building is also the first-storey building in Badagry, Lagos State. The foundation of the building was laid in 1842 and the house was completed in 1845. The ancient structure was erected by Reverend Henry Townsend and was occupied by Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the first African CMS Bishop.

9th March, 1831: Evangelist Charles Finney concludes a six-month series of meetings in Rochester, New York. He preached 98 sermons between 10th September, 1830 and March, 1831. The meetings, which have been called “the world’s greatest single revival campaign,” led to the closing of the town’s theater and taverns, a two-thirds drop in crime, and a reported 100,000 conversions.
