The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association(UUEA), like many other churches and movements, is very personal to the calling of Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai. This explains why it’s difficult to discuss this great Ministry without talking about the Founder; Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai is a doctor by profession, with a divine mandate. He is the Founder, President and Visioneer of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association(UUEA), which is headquartered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State-Nigeria. He is also the President of the Nigerian Council of Gospel Ministers (COGMON) and also doubles as the National Chairperson of the Think-Tank Committee of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
Rev. Uma Ukpai was born on the 7th of January 1945 in a village called Asaga in Ohafia, present Abia State Nigeria.
Rev. Uma Ukpai is married to Pastor (Mrs) Philomena Uma Ukpai and they are both blessed with 9 children, out of which 1 was adopted. Unfortunately, Rev. Ukpai lost 2 of his children.
The Founder ( Reverend Uma Ukpai) is an International Evangelist who conducts crusades all over the world. He is a co-author with Billy Graham and other great men of God on “The Work of An Evangelist”. Reverend Uma, was the first African main speaker at the world Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) World Convention ’96, Miami, USA.
The Association:
Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association(UUEA), as reflected on its mandate, exist to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Nigeria and beyond by all scriptural means in the power of the Holy Spirit, to encourage worship of God and promote fellowship among believers.
In clear terms, the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) portrays that
“when you believe in God’s voice speaking to you through his servants, you come into a new status and cannot be limited by any force of darkness and in believing, you enable God to back you up. God has put a dream inside of you. But you need to know how to approach God’s throne”. “Your sense of value determines what God can give you. The Word of God is self-intriguing but without faith it is of no use”.
The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) is a non-denominational, multi-dimensional Ministry that uses various platforms to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Association started like a movement that it is now, in the sitting room of its Founder (Reverend Uma Ukpai) at Plot A, Unit 106 Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, with just few members and overtime, the Ministry has birthed many visions.
Having been in existence for over 50 years, the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) has continued to birth other ministry-arms in its bid to touch lives in fulfillment of its divine mandate.
The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), houses and uses the following platforms to reach the world for Christ:
The Uma Ukpai School of Theology is a College that provides a platform where people from various spheres of life, especially entrepreneurs are taught Biblical principles of business.
Uma Ukpai Polytechnic: established as a centre of excellence and research to train and become the citadel of innovation for the growing Nigerian economy
Victory Cathedral, a weekly non-denominational fellowship of believers.
The UUEA Press, the publishing arm of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.
The King of Kings Hospital, equipped to carry out free or considerably subsidized medical outreaches for the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA).
The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association is part of the listed Founding Fathers’ Churches and Financiers of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
Uma Ukpai Eye Centre which offers low cost, affordable and accessible eye care/treatment to the public on vision matters.
Daily Nuggets: on this platform, the wife of the Founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association(UUEA), Pastor(Mrs) Philomena Uma Ukpai runs daily Word Disposition.
