Today we are talking about the Spirit of faith and I would like you to know God has packaged a raw encounter for you with the Spirit of faith that will put you in command of the issues of life.
1 John 5:4. No one can ever emerge an overcomer without faith. Not just faith, little faith can’t overcome. There are storms of life that little faith can’t handle. We need the Spirit of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. Today, this will drop on your life in a manner you will know it yourself and people around you will know you have it. Church Gist. They couldn’t enter the land because of their unbelief but my servant, Caleb who has another spirit with him, to him will I give the land. It is called the Spirit of Faith. Your inheritance will not be lost to the enemy. Thank you Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ precious name.
I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU HELPLESS. That is the sound from heaven for this month and we have that from John 14:16-18. The word ‘Comforter’ like we said literally means ‘Helper’. That He may abide with you. He, not it, He is a person. Church Gist. He is a permanent, present, help in trouble. You can’t forget Him at home. At work, He is in you. On the journey, He is in you. On the waters, He is in you. In the air, He is in you. In your shop, He is in you. In your business place and office, He is in you. In your home, He is in you. What a Helper! The Bible calls Him our present help.
That is why every believer should crave for a baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is your right. Acts 2:38. When repentance is genuine, the gift of the Holy Ghost is Auto. Acts 10:44. No one laid hands on me, He did. Holy Ghost, if you are anywhere come upon me now and He did. I was speaking in tongues fluently not in syllables. It is the auto right of everyone that is genuinely repented. Church Gist. Not you are hiding something behind the scene and you say you have repented. You have something in your pockets, under your pillow, is that repentance? When they have to pray for you ten times to receive the Holy Ghost, then there is a problem. Have you truly repented? Repent and be converted and then a time of refreshing will come from the Lord. It is auto. Somebody reading this Word this morning and your heart is open, you will be speaking in tongues right there. God doesn’t change.
It was the Word I heard that transferred to me the Spirit of faith. Not that anybody laid hands on me. God’s Word is pregnant with God’s power and grace. Without the Holy Ghost, nobody can navigate His way through this rough end time. It is going to get rougher and rougher. Church Gist. Evil men and seducers will do worse and worse. Matthew 24:8. To live an overcomer’s life, you need the help of the Holy Spirit. Everybody needs it. Little faith can’t handle the storms. Something is going to drop on you. The Spirit of faith will drop on your life and it will be evident.
Our series for our Sunday Services is UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY GHOST. Please note: What most people understand about the Holy Ghost is power. That is only one of the seven Spirits that was upon Christ. There are other diverse gifts and manifestations, for instance in Isaiah 11:1-2. Luke 4:18. The Spirit of the LORD equals the anointing or power. Revelation 5:6. He is the carrier of the seven spirits of God. Power is one over seven of those vital Spirits upon Christ that gave Him His dominion on earth and in heaven. 1 Corinthians 12:1-7. Church Gist. All these diversities of gifts, operations and manifestations are for our profiting. That is why the Holy Ghost is referred to as the Spirit of grace. Acts 4:33. Power and grace. All the other diversities of the operation of the Holy Spirit is defined as great grace. Hebrews 10:29. Power is only an aspect of it. It wasn’t power that gave Daniel Babylon, it was wisdom. It wasn’t power that secured the place of Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego but faith. “for they trusted in their God.” The word ‘trust’ is compound faith. The “If I perish, I perish” faith. We emphasize power to the point that we make the devil so important.
The end-time army will torment the devil through the manifold wisdom of God. We are not playing down on power, that is the language the enemy understands. We are not just to subdue the enemy, we must find our way to our Promised Land. Church Gist. We must take delivery of all that is our inheritance in Christ. This other multifaceted grace is required to get that done. My prayer is that you are getting out of here with a fresh release of the Spirit of faith on your life.
Why do we need the Holy Spirit? Man will always need help and He is our resident Helper. Church Gist. A very present help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1.
We are looking at the Spirit of faith this morning, our anchor scripture comes from 2 Corinthians 4:13. You can’t have it and not know. I am going to be showing us the characteristics of faith to let you know whether you have it or not. I got this awesome treasure from heaven in July 1986, as Hagin was ministering that baton was passed on to me with the capacity to believe all things no matter who doubts it. Without the Spirit of faith, we will not be in Canaanland. It was outside of our plan. This tabernacle will never be built in one year without the Spirit of faith. You don’t know how much you are losing ground to the enemy without the Spirit of faith. Church Gist. There are things you hear, there are things you see yet you can’t move. Help has come your way finally. Today is your day. As the Word is going on, the same power that fell in the house of Cornelius will fall upon your life and will turn you loose in the realm of the Spirit.
Faith is key to victory over the battles of life. This is why faith shall continue to be under increasing attacks in the end time. Luke 18:8. 1 Timothy 4:1. Luke 21:31-32. Habakkuk 2:4. So when your faith fails, your life ceases. Failure comes, defeat comes. Sorrow comes, depression comes. Church Gist. It takes the Spirit of faith for your faith to remain intact and waxing stronger in battle. The end time storms will require more than just faith but strong faith. Ephesians 6:16. Everybody needs the shield of faith to live a life of more than a conqueror.
We also discover from scriptures that the Spirit of faith is the master key to a world of exploits. Accomplishing impossible tasks without sweat. Hebrews 11:33. Through faith, not through skill or expertise. A friend of mine came in here years ago and said “How do you pay for all of this?” and I said Faith! He said “Faith?” I said Yes, faith is a universal currency. It holds the same value in every nation of the earth. You can’t devalue faith. Faith will deliver the same result, anywhere you are. Unbelief will make you suffer defeat no matter where you live. No matter your skill. Everybody needs the Spirit of Faith to live the overcomer’s life. People are in need because they don’t know what they need. To step into your Promised Land, you need the Spirit of faith. We possessed this Land by the Spirit of faith. Not by strength, not by connection. We knew nobody and we sought to know nobody. Faith has the capacity to triumph on its own. Church Gist. Daniel was the beloved of the King but he couldn’t help him. He has mistakenly signed that he should be thrown into the den of lions. He couldn’t sleep all night. Daniel was his darling but he couldn’t help him. You get to a point in your life where no human hand can help you. Hebrews 11:33-35. What you have there in Hebrews 11, they call it the Heroes of Faith. They are all men with the Spirit of faith at work in them.
Nobody has access to any gift of the Spirit without a desperation and a thirst. You need the Spirit of faith to make your way through this life. Everybody needs it to navigate their way through this wicked world. To quench all the fiery darts of the enemy coming to your life, you need the Spirit of faith. It doesn’t crouch before fierce opposition but rises up to the occasion any day, any time. We saw the Spirit of faith at work in Moses, he dared Pharaoh from start to finish and triumphed all the way. Church Gist. It is time to dare your Pharaoh and bring him down. It is time to dare your Goliath and bring him down. The Bible demands that we contend for the faith once delivered to the saints. Jude 3. Seek for it, you need it. Luke 1:17. There is a mystery here. It is the Spirit of just men being passed on to people from generation to generation. Only those who have it can give it. Acts 3:6. You can’t have it and not know.
We were going to enter 75 new nations last year, there was no budget for it. There was no item on our budget for it. So how do we enter? On foot? Yet we entered 83 nations. The Spirit of Faith will act on any Word from the Lord at any time. There was no budget to build the Faith Tabernacle, we didn’t even have the time to do that. He commanded the construction on the 17th of September, we will dedicate it 18th of September the following year. How? What built this Tabernacle was more than our entire budget for the year. Yet we didn’t borrow, we didn’t beg and nobody here was under pressure. There was no demand on anyone. Church Gist. Nobody was called on the phone yet He did it. We need the Spirit of faith to operate in the realm of more than a conqueror. Because He gave it to me freely, I release it to every open heart freely this morning. Receive right there a fresh baptism of the Spirit of faith.
The Spirit of faith at work in any man can impart on many at the same time. We saw the Impartation that took place in Numbers 11, it came upon 70 others. God took it from Moses and put it upon seventy elders and they prophesied and seized not. Church Gist. Numbers 11:16. Philippians 1:7. Romans 1:11. It takes faith to be established. It takes faith to keep abounding in the works of the Lord.
Every spiritual gift feeds on the Word to sustain impact. No matter how precious the gift is, it will wane. It will fade. It may soon disappear as if it was never there. Every spiritual gift feeds on the Word to sustain impact. The Word is the only food of the Spirit that keeps the spirit man alive and active in our lives. You don’t collect a gift and disappear, you sit on the Word to sustain the impact of that gift on your life and for those around you. This is where the failure comes in, people have received Impartation again and again but they starved the treasure to death. John 6:63. You need to feed it with the Word to keep the life in it on or you snuff life out of it. Church Gist. That is why they get it again and again and it is not working. Particularly the Spirit of faith will die without being fed on the Word. Instead of disturbing your life reading the Bible over and again, read materials of men of faith. The Spirit of faith in them will keep gingering faith in you.
Every man or woman of faith you come across in this world are Word addicts. You starve that treasure to death without the Word. 2 Timothy 4:13. Daniel 9:2. Every single man of faith that will sustain relevance and impact must be a Word addict. Not just reading the Bible, but reading books that interpret the Bible by authentic authors with proof. Church Gist. I need to put this one down for you to understand it, that the gifts oftentimes are released but they die in the lives of those who receive them. This one will not die in your life.
Psalm 45:1-4. You keep riding prosperously and in majesty because of the truths that you are building up in your life. Church Gist. Everybody should take note of that. It doesn’t matter how busy you may claim to be, if you are not in the Word, you start losing your worth. Matthew 4:4.
Eight Characteristics of The Spirit of Faith.
Please understand that today is our Covenant Day of Breaking Generational Curses and faith is a vital requirement for breaking those curses without struggle. Church Gist. You quench all the fiery darts of the devil – generational, diabolical, physical, at your command. Let’s look at those characteristics.
1. The Spirit of Faith engraces us to believe the unbelievable thereby empowering us to accomplish the impossible.
Acts 24:14. Philippians 4:13. You cannot believe all things and not be over all things. He enables you to believe all things so you can do all things. Because if you believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23. That is one of the big things of the Spirit of Faith. You can imagine, that the Holy Ghost came into my room and said it was time to get the aircraft. You don’t know the name, you don’t know the price, you don’t know the cost or anything and you are able to say it. Church Gist. It takes the Spirit of Faith to believe all things and then no pressure. The plane arrived six months after and we have been flying since then to show that it is not by chance. Without any pinch, you buy one first and see what it costs to run it. We were going to build a hangar, they allocated land to us in the airport. We called one of us to come and do the construction and he came back and said “God told me to do it”. We only asked you to construct it because we want somebody we can trust. He said don’t rob me of my blessing. To believe all things is to be empowered to do all things. To believe what God says you have committed Him to do it. Luke 1:45.
2. The Spirit of Faith speaks the unspeakable.
Matthew 10:20. It speaks the unspeakable. You saw the way, tiny David was blowing hot before Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:42-50. God just simply confirmed the Word he spoke through the Spirit of Faith. It is the prompting of the Spirit of Faith. Daniel 3:17-23. Speaking the unspeakable, that is the ministry of the Spirit of Faith. Church Gist. “September 18th 1999, this Tabernacle shall be dedicated” What is speaking there? The Spirit of Faith. Nobody who knows anything about building in this World will think of that. “Two months, too much!” What is speaking there? The Spirit of Faith. You won’t lose any more ground to the devil in your life. Receive a fresh release of the Spirit of Faith upon your life.
My wife out of concern in 1986 when WOFBI was going to start, she said to me “The School will resume next week, where will they resume?” out of concern. I asked her is it your school? The owner of the school will know where it ought to be. Then He opened my natural eyes, I wasn’t sleeping and pointed to a building on Katsina Road. I didn’t know that was the road but He told me the building is beside one church which I knew. He said that is where the Bible School will be. I got to the office and called one of the staff to go to the place that is where the Bible school would be. He got there and met the owner in front of the building. He said “Sir, are you the caretaker of this building? He said No!” Are you the owner of this building?” Do they stand in front of the building to rent it? He said “No! Jesus is the owner, I am the caretaker.” What? He was dressed in the Northern overall so he was naturally a Muslim. Church Gist. He said, “We need it for Bible School.” The man said “Bible School? Then it is free.” Same Monday. The Spirit of Faith is ever at rest in the midst of the storms. We had admitted students but there was nowhere they would resume. Amen! The Landlord registered as a student. He ended up an Elder in the church. Without the Spirit of Faith, you will not move. You will just say go and check whether that place is available. Go to that place, that is where the Bible School will be. Somebody is going to be led to where his next level blessing is. As you take the steps of faith without doubting in your heart, it shall be delivered. You are going places.
3. The Spirit of Faith makes incredible moves.
Hebrews 11:7. Go forward! To where? To the Red Sea? Exodus 14:14-15. Hebrews 11:29. “As you pastor this one Church, shut down there.” What? Is it not said in our place that a bird at hand is more than ten thousand in the forest? He said to throw away the one at hand and go for the invisible one thousand in the forest. Church Gist. No counsel! If you doubt it, you lose it. Every doubt spurs a defeat. We came into the forest and we began to impact the world. The Spirit of Faith will always deliver. It is your turn. Receive right now a fresh baptism of the Spirit of Faith.
With that faith in you, moving to deliver to establish souls is not an issue. No! It is not! You won’t move without faith. Faith is always making incredible moves.
4. The Spirit of Faith is ever at rest in the midst of the storms.
Christ was fast asleep on a pillow while they were crying that they were perishing. Mark 4:38-39. Ever at rest in the midst of the storm. I told you a story that one time we were on our way to Kano and then we had an issue after 30 minutes in the air. I walked into the cockpit to see what was going on. I saw the pilot sweating, he had a bald head like me and sweat was coming out like water. What is going on? He said we just lost one engine. I said relax. Church Gist. I don’t know anything about aircrafts but relax and make a turn back to Lagos. I mustn’t tell those fellows on the plane because I might lose them before the plane. I offered them snacks. They had no idea of what had happened. There was no thought of what should happen when I live. I am not living anywhere. I had rest, unbelievable rest, unexplainable rest, undeniable rest in the midst of the storm. That was May 4th 1998. We triumphed over the storm by the Spirit of Faith that gives rest.
We were flying from Cyprus to Tel-Aviv and there was a big bang. Nobody knew the source of it in the plane in the air. The plane went down. I said Peace be still. Some were in heaven already. There was no flicker of fear. That is the Spirit of Faith. In the name of Jesus, everything that jitters you in the place of challenges, I command them to get off you. Church Gist. Ever at rest in the midst of the storm. It puts you in command of the supernatural, the Lord will fight for you as you hold your peace. Exodus 14:14. If you don’t hold your peace He leaves you to it. It is a new day for you.
5. The Spirit of Faith dares the undareable.
How can a natural man dare a fiery furnace? Not even kitchen fire. Fiery furnace, one gruesome way of execution in those days. No one ever came out of it. The Spirit of Faith dares the undareable. They dared it and damned it. How dare you confront Pharaoh, the King of the world at that time but through faith, Moses will say “Pharaoh, stop there. How long will you be stubborn?”. Daring the undareable. You carry three million people into the forest, how are they going to eat? Daring the undareable. How much food did they carry? They had no time to carry food, they were carrying treasure. They had never seen money in their life. God was feeding them morning and evening without planting or reaping for forty years. How do you supply water for this multitude? Church Gist. Borehole? When the cloud moved at any time. You are still digging the borehole and the cloud has moved. A Rock was following them. The Rock that never fails, let me hide in you. In you there is power. The Rock was following them and supplying water for three million people. For their washing, for their drinking and everything. Their clothes didn’t wax old on them, He was supplying them clothes. They were passing through forests because they didn’t allow them to pass through their cities. Their legs were not swollen. Everything about them was taken care of. Daring the undareable. No game of the devil will scare you again.
6. The Spirit of Faith silences the enemy.
We have said it before that it quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy. We are going to kill everyone tomorrow except you tell us how to come out of this trouble. Church Gist. Daniel said give us time and the secret was revealed unto Daniel and that ended the wickedness of the wicked. Daniel 2:19. Today, God will silence all the attacks of your enemies.
7. The Spirit of Faith puts the believer in command of situations and circumstances.
Mark 9:23. Mark 10:27. Whatever is possible with God is possible for delivery with our faith. Whatever God can do, faith can make happen. Can God give you a job tomorrow? Yes! Can Faith give you a job tomorrow? Yes! Whatever God can do, Faith can make happen. He puts you in command of situations and circumstances. “It took me six days to create the world and the fullness thereof. I will not need two months to complete an ordinary building. Two months, too much”. Whatever God can do, faith can make happen. Luke 1:45. Church Gist. Whatever truth you have received and believed faith can make it happen. If God can do it, faith can make it happen. Can you be confirmed pregnant this week? Can God do it? Then faith can take delivery. It is your week. Can God make that sickness clear off your body right now? Then faith can make it happen and so it has happened. Can God rescue you from the siege of diabolical curses, hereditary diseases, generational assault? then faith will make it happen and it is happening right now.
8. The Spirit of Faith engenders spontaneous response of faith to issues or challenges.
You are not premeditating, you are not planning, spontaneous response to issues and challenges of life. Acts 3:6. I told you a story one time when I returned from a trip and my wife said she had a miscarriage, I said it cannot happen. Can I have my food please? Church Gist. That was the end. No discussion, no how do you feel. You don’t feel anything more than what I said. Spontaneous response, you are not dragging. Something is breaking forth in your life. You are winning the war.
Finally, it is important to mention that every gift of the Spirit requires a right heart for access. Acts 8:19-22. You can’t partake of the Holy Ghost without a right heart. Every gift of the Spirit is primarily for service. If you are not out to serve God, you will serve the gift so He won’t let you have it. It is not for merchandise, it is for stewardship. Simon wanted to be selling the gift. Church Gist. Without a right heart, you don’t have access. In the precious name of Jesus, I pray that each one will set his heart to return with this treasure. Jeremiah 17:9-10. God is looking at your heart to determine what He puts in your hand. May our hearts remain right with God.
Today is our Covenant Day of Breaking Generational Curses. Please note: curses are real. The good news is that all curses including generational curses are reversible.
– Today, every curse upon anyone’s life and family shall be reversed.
– Every contrary handwriting which is against you, He will take it out of the way today.
Galatians 3:13. The curse of the Law has no more legal right on your life. Everyone listed out there from Deuteronomy 28:14-16, they have no more legal hold on your life because Christ already paid the price for it. Church Gist. Therefore I decree the effect of the curse of the law broken on anyone’s life today. Colossians 2:14. Everything came to an end at the cross. All curses of the law came to an end at the cross, so you are free.
What do we mean by generational curses? Every cycle of evil in one’s lineage such as addiction, business and career frustration, marital spell, barrenness or infertility, scourge of indebtedness, hereditary disease, name it. They are all curses. Proverbs 26:2. Every cycle of evil is an indication of a curse behind the scenes and they are all off your life today. When one is saved and remains saved, he or she is delivered from all curses including generational curses. Church Gist. They are free from it. Numbers 23:8. When Christ came, He came to bless us and blessing is the cure for curses. When God blesses us, no devil can reverse it. Acts 3:26. The day we turn to Christ the curses are broken. Therefore every curse hanging over anyone’s life is declared broken today.
If you check the catalogue of curses from Deuteronomy 28:14-66, they all can be categorized into three: sickness, poverty and death. Those scriptures just paint the picture of poverty, sickness and death. Therefore those three evils are off your life today. All we require to see these curses broken off our life is faith. Church Gist. Mark 11:43-44. You break curses by faith. Have the God kind of faith. Engage the force of the Spirit of Faith and then you break all the curses that may be hanging around your life.
While salvation secures believers from curses, serving God and the interests of His Kingdom is what sustains us under the blessing. Exodus 23:25-26. Church Gist. Everyone reading this should expect all curses, diabolical, hereditary or generational to be broken off their lives in this service today. It is your turn at last. The battle over your destiny is declared won today.
