Biblical wisdom is about putting God’s Word to work. Matthew 7:24. Appropriate application of the Word is what makes you wise. Psalm 19:7.
– Now in the name of Jesus, the wisdom for settlement in all areas of our lives is released this morning.
– Grace for appropriate application of the Word that will lead to settlement and give us rest, receive it now in the name of Jesus.
Lord, all eyes are on you, we are here for you, we are here to hear from you. Lord, let your Word locate each one of us today and reposition us for settlement in Jesus name.
Every one who has heard the declaration of Shiloh, today shall be your Shiloh. Every barrier on your part is cleared. Church Gist. God is launching you into a unique year in 2024. The grace that brought you hitherto will take you through to 2024 and Shiloh will open that great chapter in your life in Jesus precious name. Again, the theme for Shiloh is: REDEEMED TO FLOURISH IN HARD TIMES. Psalms 37:18,19. No matter the heat in the environment, you shall be exempted in the name of Jesus.
We continue with our series this morning, ‘UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT’ Part 4. We have tried to establish the fact that the Holy Spirit is a multi dimensional Helper. He has different administrations, diversities of functions all to give us the help we need to make the most of our lives and secure eternity at the end. 1 Corinthians 12:1,4-7. So, these diversities of operations are designed to make us live a profitable life here below and enjoy eternity in grand style at the end. Church Gist. We need His help to make it happen. We’ve been examining some of those vital operations of the Holy Spirit and today we will be looking at the Spirit of sanctification.
No one can live a life that pleases God in his own strength. By redemption, we have a golden destiny in Christ. The Bible defines it as a glorious destiny. Romans 8:29,30. Zechariah calls it a golden destiny. Church Gist. Zechariah 4:1-6. It is impossible to live a life that pleases God without the Helper at work in our lives.
Christ was declared to be the son of God by the Spirit of holiness. Romans 1:4. So, everybody needs the Spirit of sanctification to sustain a sanctified life otherwise, it will be like ‘end of year restitution or resolution’ some of which endures for 4 weeks, some very strong ones, 8 weeks, very few last 12 weeks. Church Gist. “I will never drink again. Alcohol? Never in my life till I die” He struggles for the first month, second month he says “The thing is moving me”. Even Christ was declared to be the Son of God with power by the Spirit of holiness. Romans 1:4. People don’t know what they need that’s why they are in need. People will pray for power for signs and wonders but what is bothering them they won’t pray for it. The rod will not work in the hand of everyone but in the hand of sanctified people. The rod didn’t work in the hand of Gehazi, It is loaded with power but he was not a vessel worthy of it.
Everybody, Patriarchs, Apostles, Prophets, everybody needs the Spirit of sanctification to sustain a sanctified life.
– Now this morning I decree that release upon everyone’s life.
You see, when it is well with us spiritually, it becomes well with us ‘Everywhere-ly’. Romans 8:6. 1 Timothy 4:7,8. Church Gist. Behind marital tension, sir is spiritual deficiency. If it is well with your spirit it will be well with you ‘Everywhere-ly’. Romans 8:6.
– So, I see peace restored into homes. I see life restored into every aspect of your life. I see new life surging into your spiritual life, new life surging in your career, new life surging in your family life.
Prophetically, iniquity shall abound in this end time leading to the falling away of many.
We’re trying to look at: Why I need the Spirit of sanctification. Matthew 24:12. Church Gist. There shall be a disconnect. 2 Timothy 3:1-3. These are all end time characteristics unleashed by the devil to see to the falling away of many. That’s why everybody here needs the Spirit of sanctification to escape the horror of the end time.
We must remember that we are redeemed to be holy as God is holy. All these cannot be a reality without the help of the Spirit of holiness. 1 Peter 1:15,16. Matthew 5:48. He won’t ask us to be what He has not equipped us to be. He tempts no man with evil, His commandments are not grievous. If He said so that means we have enough resources within us to be if we choose to be. Church Gist. Sir, Christianity without a crave for sanctification is an adventure in frustration. Christianity without a genuine crave for sanctification, a sustainable crave for sanctification is an adventure in frustration.
– No one will suffer the siege of frustration in this house in the name of Jesus Christ.
So, if Christ needed the Spirit of holiness, you and I need it the most. This is why I believe there shall be an outpouring of the Spirit of holiness upon the Church in these last days both to remain spiritually in shape and to remain ready for the rapture. Church Gist. No matter the dimension of breakthrough here, it is not comparable with 1 day in Heaven where we are going to be for eternity to eternity.
But no one can live a sanctified life by chance. ‘I just found myself living right’. No, believers can only be sanctified by taking required scriptural steps. You can’t live a sanctified life by chance. 2 Timothy 2:19-21. So, it is not I just woke up and I became a doctor, you become a doctor by a process You can’t wake up and just become sanctified, you make a choice, you crave for the grace and you take responsibility to prove that you really want it.
No one can make Heaven by chance. One can only make Heaven by taking spiritual responsibility in the face of Scriptures. ‘I just found myself in Heaven’. No! 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. So, no one can make Heaven by chance. There are covenant criteria for making Heaven. Before we know it, people will come to believe that there is no Heaven anywhere, ‘This is heaven, let’s enjoy ourselves my friend’ They are moving towards that because if you can do anything and get away with it then where is Heaven? Why trouble yourself? ‘There is no Heaven’ The enemy is pushing the Church towards that end. Church Gist. Do you know what it means to build the Ark for so many years? ‘You say rain is coming. This man is a fool, the biggest fool in the world. I don’t know whether he has relations, what are they talking about it’ Suddenly, while they were laughing and making mockery, the flood came. No one knows the time but God never lies. ‘How can God take anybody to hell?’ No, He’s not taking you, you chose to. Did He put them inside the flood? He opened the gate to the Ark, they didn’t enter. They now said, “What rain can carry this thing, has it ever rained? People don’t even think. He now said the rain will come, it will come as a flood and carry that nonsense he is building” Like in the days of Noah so shall it be in this day, that’s what Jesus said, they were eating and drinking until the flood came…And God said, “Noah shut the door, they won’t come”. “Nonsense, you mean this water will get to my knees? It is not possible. How? How can the Earth take in water? I’m not entering any Ark. Are you trying to go? You’re stupid. Ok, you think water will not enter that Ark? Do you know how long he has been building it? Noah is a stupid man” Ok, the stupid man entered the Ark, the wise man was left behind and he began to float because he hadn’t learned how to swim before. He is not from Niger Delta. He began to float like Pharoah.
– In the precious name of Jesus, no one will toy with the reality of heaven.
Now, let’s examine some covenant demands towards living a sanctified life.
It is important to know that sanctification is God’s will for us. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5. You can’t afford to live after their manner (the Gentiles). You are a peculiar people, you are redeemed to be different. Don’t be ashamed to be different, you are redeemed to be different. That is the will of God. 1 John 5:14-15. ‘Lord, sanctify me by your Spirit’, He says “I hear” If it is the will of God, then it will enjoy express answer to prayers. Matthew 6:9,13. It is the will of God and it is there in the Jesus pattern of prayers. Church Gist. But how many pray that? How many of us truly pray that? We are just busy telling the story of when we got saved. Where are you now? Are you still saved? Heaven is real. Your God ordained, glorious, enviable, mountain top destiny is real but it takes this to access it. Acts 20:32. So, it takes sanctification to access the fullness of your inheritance.
– In the precious name of Jesus, every form of defilement by the imagination of the devil to frustrate anyone’s destiny is declared broken today. Somebody’s story is changing.
First, we are looking at covenant demands towards living a sanctified life.
1: One must continue to watch and pray not to fall into temptation. No assumption. Matthew 26:41. Jesus said to Peter, ‘Pray’ Peter said, “It’s not necessary, if anybody comes I will cut his head”. Jesus said, “Pray, all men will be offended by me”. Peter said, “Never me, I will rather die with you”. “Peter pray, before the cock crow this morning you will deny me 3 times” ‘Not me, you don’t know my name, my name is Peter, the rock. Deny you? Who will make it happen?’ Not a soldier, a small girl, ‘Peter you are one of them’ He said, “Never, I don’t know Jesus. We came here to kill Him together” and then he was swearing if he ever knew Jesus and then the cock crew, he saw his weakness. Church Gist. There is no bold face here. Everybody needs the help of the Helper to make it through. We must continue to pray, to watch and pray not to fall into temptation. Matthew 26:41.
If you watch the Jesus pattern of prayer, it is meant for daily engagement. ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ Matthew 6:11. So, everything there is meant for daily engagement to secure daily needed help. Not to be recited but to be prayed.
– God will turn your situation into a surprise because everything will keep turning into your favour.
But prayer does not only change things, prayer changes people. We saw Moses for 40 days and 40 nights before the presence of the Lord in Exodus 34:28-30. He returned with a transfigured body. It is akin to the mount of transfiguration that Jesus had. The experience he had in Luke 9:28,29,35. Transfiguration on the mount of the altar of prayer. Authority changed level. So, when we engage on the prayer altar we should expect transformational experience with God. Church Gist. Again, we need the Holy Spirit to be effectual and fervent on the altar of prayer. Matthew 26:41. We need the Holy Spirit to quicken our mortal bodies to engage fervently on the altar of prayer. Romans 8:26,27. So, He helps us on the altar of prayer to be fervent and effectual. Therefore, everyone should expect transformational experience from henceforth when we stand on the altar of prayer. 2 Corinthians 3:18. He changes us when we appear in His presence. Engaging with Him, we experience supernatural transformation in our lives.
2: One must continue to pray for the enduement of the Spirit of holiness. Isaiah 55:1. No one can be empowered by the Spirit by wishing. You come craving. John 7:37-39. So, you can’t, I can’t, we cannot partake of the diverse ministry of the Holy Spirit without a genuine crave. Psalms 63:1,2. You can’t see His power without a genuine thirst and longing. Everybody needs the Spirit of holiness.
– This morning, by a genuine thirst and longing, everyone shall be endued afresh by the Spirit of holiness.
We need that to make every other thing work in our lives. Luke 11:13. So, He is ever there to release the help. He knows we are helpless without Him. When we cry indeed and truthfully from the depths of our hearts, He endues us with it. 1 Corinthians 9:11. We can’t be sanctified without the Spirit of the Lord coming to play. Malachi 3:1-4. The Holy Ghost is God’s refiner’s fire. His mission is to refine the redeemed of the Lord to live a life that pleases God. Acts 2:2,4. He came suddenly. He is the one that Malachi prophesied about, He will come suddenly and He will come as a refiner’s fire and He will refine the sons of God, the redeemed of the Lord to offer sacrifices that will please God so they can live a profitable life. Church Gist. We need Him to refine any rotten area of our life. The devil can’t come in without provision being made. Ephesians 4:27. We need the Spirit of holiness to subdue the spirit of filthiness like we need light to subdue darkness. There is what the Bible calls the spirit of disobedience in Ephesians 2:2. There’s another Spirit called the Spirit of obedience that helps us to walk in the ways of God. Ezekiel 36:27. Without the Spirit of obedience, the spirit of disobedience will be having a free day, he will be totally in charge, he will be directing you in the way you don’t want to go because the Spirit that can resist him is not there. Isaiah 59:19. So, we need the Spirit of obedience to subdue the spirit of disobedience. Ephesians 2:2. It operates wherever there is air except you go into a vacuum. He is the prince of the power of the air, his mission is to work disobedience in people so they can counter against God. That’s what he does. 1 Corinthians 10:10. ‘My husband, stop murmuring’ He says, “Stop that! God should know what I’m going through” It’s not you, it’s one spirit that is manipulating.
We saw a playlet yesterday at Covenant University of this man who was believing God for a breakthrough. He had an harassment on his house. His landlady said, “I’m sending you out, police or lawyer is coming” So, there was an evil spirit wearing black and tapping him from his back. The wife now in the Spirit began to speak. Every time the wife is speaking and she says ‘In the name of Jesus’ the evil spirit will bend and finally the spirit left…and so most of the things you think you are doing, no…you are being manipulated. Church Gist. How can someone be working consciously against something that will bless him? They say ‘Don’t murmur, murmuring destroys’ He says ‘I must murmur’ You ask, ‘Do you want to be destroyed?’ He says no, but why? He doesn’t know.
– Every foul spirit loitering around your life, I curse them in the name of Jesus. The battle is over. The battle over your life is over in the name of Jesus.
It is the same Spirit called the Spirit of the fear of the Lord that keeps believers from evil. Proverbs 16:6. Isaiah 11:2. The Spirit of the fear of the Lord engraces people to depart from evil. He helps to destroy the taste of people for evil.
-Therefore, in the name of Jesus, be filled with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord. In the same vein, be filled with the Spirit of obedience.
All these are forces that help us to live a life that pleases God.
3: One cannot manifest the nature he does not possess. ‘By their fruit, we shall know them’ Matthew 7:18. Can anybody stop a dog from barking? Can we stop a sheep from bleating? Can anybody stop a pig from wallowing in the mire? In the same vein, to be godly implies to possess a godly nature and we understand that the Word of God is the carrier of God’s nature. 2 Peter 1:4. So, we partake in divine nature from Scriptures. John 1:1-4. The farther we are from the Word, the farther we are from divine nature, the farther we are from godly nature. So, imbibing the Word is imbibing divine nature and when divine nature is imbibed which is the nature of God, living a godly life becomes easy. Psalms 119:9-11. So, it is by the Word that we imbibe divine nature that helps us live a godly life. It is by the Word that we are cleansed. Ephesians 5:26. People today don’t have time for the Word, they don’t have time. They are running in empty tanks so they have to be pushed. Can you push a car without fuel to start? Church Gist. You can’t carry human nature and not be a victim of human corruption. We escape corruption that is in the world through lust by imbibing divine nature to counter it, to subdue it.
– I pray that no one toys with the Word of God again. I pray that time for the Word will be precious in your sight.
So, feeding on the Word is one way we imbibe divine nature. Jeremiah 15:16. John 17:17. So, the Word of God sanctifies, it infuses divine nature that helps us to live a godly life. Also, we know that the Word that sanctifies requires the Holy Spirit for access. We are limited in access without the help of the Holy Spirit. John 14:26. We need Him for access. We need the Spirit of God to be fervent and effectual in prayers. We also need the Spirit of holiness to live a holy life. We need the same Holy Ghost to enhance our access to the Word that gives us access to imbibing divine nature that helps us to live a godly life.
– In the precious name of Jesus, no one here will lose his destiny to the enemy. No one among us will miss his steps to Heaven in the name of Jesus Christ.
You know, we live in a world that is going through stress but the Bible says with the fear of God you have access to the secrets of God that shows you the way out at every point in time. Psalms 25:14. Sanctification is everything that makes Christianity beautiful, wonderful, fulfilling and empowering.
– May we all receive that fresh enduement in the name of Jesus Christ.
Today is our Covenant Day of Marital Settlement. God has called us to settle us.
– Everyone here shall be supernaturally settled.
The question is, how many are interested in settlement? Because we do a bit of counseling here on family issues. Some are not prepared for settlement. You say one thing they say 10 things and what they are saying is not in Scriptures. Church Gist. They are not prepared. What you don’t seek you can’t find and what you don’t learn you can’t know. What you don’t know you pay for it. How many are interested in settlement? They are in crisis but are they interested in settlement?
I read 8 books in preparation for marriage. There are people in crisis today who have not read one book in their life. They just put their hands in their pockets, ‘Nonsense, you must leave this house today’ Satan says you are right, ‘Today, by the time we come out from Church you are leaving here. You say, ‘Please, I’m sorry’, he says, ‘For what? You are leaving today. I’ve made up my mind, my father told me before he died…’ His father is an herbalist, ‘If any woman calls you a fool, send her out’. ‘You call me a fool? My father told me…’ His father is not saved, ‘If any woman calls you a fool send her out the same day’. He says, ‘I’m just going to Church, when I come back. No matter what papa says, you know today is Marital Settlement, I’m not going to agree’ You know I would be stupid to think that everybody cares about what I say. No, I won’t be that stupid to believe that. Church Gist. I know you are writing but I don’t know what you are writing and we don’t check the note. You can say ‘I don’t agree with this one. There are many people in crisis, they are not looking for the way out. They are just out to justify themselves against God, against their partner. ‘My wife is the most stupid human being in the world’ I say where did you get that? Where was the appraisal done? ‘My husband, anybody who submits to my husband has killed herself. My husband has no brain’…and you said you agreed when you went to the altar. Are you interested in solution? Come and learn. Matthew 11:28.
– Every acrimony, every upsetting situation in anyone’s home, I command an end to it today and I decree restoration of peace and harmony in every home in the name of Jesus.
Interestingly, your ministry is a leading voice on hitch free marriage by revelation so, you have every right to plug into it. You check behind all the tensions. The spirituality question. They say the Word says so, ‘The Word for what, I know what I’m talking about’ A disregard for the Word destroys the future. Our future is secured by the light of the Scriptures. Hosea 4:6. They go into captivity because of lack of knowledge. Church Gist. So, people without a regard for knowledge are not ready for a solution and to prove that, they don’t even do anything to see that they are looking for solution. They won’t talk to anybody sir because they know more than anybody. They know more than everybody so they won’t talk to anybody.
We had several sessions with our counselor before we got married. It is not a waste of time. You are gaining insight as to how to handle the things ahead of you. There are parents who will not allow their sons and daughters to go for counseling. ‘What are you looking for? Are they collecting money from them?’ So, you’ve had the same thing repeat itself. They say ‘If they can’t marry you here without counseling we go to somewhere else’ You can be going like that for life, gasping. A simple thing, simple light.
– Again my prayer is that today must mark the end of every form of marital siege in anyone’s life. It shall be the dawn of a new day for you and for your family.
Now, marriage is a good thing and every good thing is our entitlement in Christ including a timely, peaceful, joyful, fruitful and a settled married life. Genesis 2:17,18. Luke 11:13. Psalms 34:10. So, it is your right.
– Therefore, the siege of marital delay is cursed.
You heard next Saturday we are having 8 marriages. We’ll be here someday and hear 20 marriages and 30 marriages holding the same day. Every child of God that so desires has the God given right to be settled in marriage. Psalm 68:6. ‘What are they talking about? I don’t believe in it’ What are you bragging to? Bragging at God? What can you do to Him?
– Today you are coming out, that captivity is being broken today.
Proverbs 18:22 . So, it is a manifestation of God’s favour upon the redeemed.
– You will be gloriously settled. Every unsettled home, today is declared settled.
But to actualize our glorious marital destiny;
1: One must be saved and remain in love with God. It is only those who love God that can love their neighbours. Without a heart for God, you can’t have a heart for anybody else. You can’t claim to love somebody and you’re slapping him. Is that love? Or carry something from the kitchen to hit him. People don’t know the secret of love. Love begins with love for God. Matthew 22:38,39. People who truly love God will love their spouse. Those who don’t love their spouse don’t love God, sir. Isn’t that a secret? It’s not mechanical love. ‘I love you’. A number of my friends outside the country will say, “My wife is the best wife in the world” and tomorrow you hear that they’re divorced. Church Gist. They are all funny drama. ‘I want to thank God’ It’s not real, the thing is not from inside and after such introduction, ‘No, take care’ The same person under few hours…and love is the cord that binds marriages today so, when there is no love, it is a marriage of inconvenience. Love is the cord that binds any home. Sir, when there is love you can’t imagine a divorce, you will seek a solution. When there is love you can’t chase out your spouse and it is raining outside and to where? ‘Anywhere he likes he can go’ Sir, without love, every marriage is at a risk. Don’t wait for the other party to be in love, you be in love.
That man we saw in the playlet yesterday was out of touch. Only the wife was on…but when the two are in love, you have a gorgeous, beautiful, blissful, blossoming family life.
– I decree the enduement of the Spirit of love upon us.
So, be born again and stay in love with God, it will secure your family life, secure your future. Romans 8:28.
2: Everyone going through marital challenges should seek for light from the Word for their desired breakthrough, particularly through anointed books on the subject matter. Light is light no matter where it comes from. Whether you are generating it by gas or by petrol or by diesel, light is light, power is power. So, seek for materials on marriage of individuals with testimonies of marriage and settle with it, then you’ll find your breakthrough without stress. Church Gist. Only those who seek for solutions find them. I became a life long student of Yonggi Cho since 1985 to the point of photocopying a whole textbook because it could not be found anywhere and the owner wanted it now. See the effect today. What you won’t learn you can’t know.
Please, settle to learn the way forward in your marriage.
– You are going forward. That storm is over.
Study if you want to be free from shame. Study, seek for solutions from the Word. 2 Timothy 2:15.
3: Rebellion against covenant on marriage can keep any marriage under siege for life. ‘Husband love your wife’ You say, ‘What for? I can’t love her, No’ Ephesians 5:25. You find yourself speaking things that are outrageous that could even cost you eternity. ‘Even God can’t love my wife’ and you know God is love. ‘God even you who say you’re love you can’t love my wife’ You’re going beyond bounds. Ephesians 5:22. “Wives, submit yourself to your husbands in everything” ‘No, no, I know where I’m coming from’ Where are you coming from? ‘I know my father’s house’ Stay there now…people just flagrantly despise the truth and worse so make away with it. Church Gist. You can’t play down on the truth and triumph. No one plays down on the truth and triumphs. Ephesians 5:23-25. You know when we were growing up, you read some Scriptures like this you quickly turn it over saying, ‘No, I don’t want’ Then you go to the book of Psalms ‘Fight them that are fighting against me’ because you don’t want to hear that. ‘This is a hard saying, who can hear it?’ Simple things…
– No one here will fail.
Ephesians 5:25. No documentation of error. ‘Not 2 years ago you said this, 3 years ago you said this, 14 years ago, hear what you said, you think I’m not documenting them? Today na today. I’ve heard enough’ If Christ were documenting your errors will you ever have access to pray? If He doesn’t write away your past can you have access to heaven? When He said ‘Love your wife as Christ loves the Church’ No matter the heat, write it off as if it never happened. Then you are ready for solution.
– Somebody’s story is changing. May all those documentation in your hand if you have, may you receive grace to destroy them today and not refer to them again in Jesus name.
4: Commitment to Kingdom advancement endeavours secures one’s marital destiny. All these things that others are dying to get shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33. You won’t struggle for peace at home, joy in your marriage. You won’t struggle to get gloriously married. Church Gist. You are pursuing God, He is delivering all things that pertain to you in response. Exodus 23:25,26. That means you’re married. You can’t talk about barrenness when you are not married.
