Our prophetic focus for the month as was read to us this morning is “I WILL RESTORE HEALTH UNTO THEE” and our Teaching Series for the month in our Sunday Services is captioned “UNVEILING HEALING WONDERS IN REDEMPTION.” Church Gist. And I like each one of us to pay attention this morning because by the Word of God today, every hold upon your health shall be destroyed! You are leaving this Service totally free!
Now, by way of introduction, it is important to know that by redemption, the price for our healing has been fully paid. 1 Corinthians 6:20. So by redemption, we have been purchased and we have been purchased to glorify God in our bodies among others. Church Gist. And one of the ways we do that is by manifesting health and vitality. Isaiah 53:4-5. So part of the package of redemption is our healing and vitality.
The same way Jesus saves us simply, He also heals us simply. Psalm 103:1-4. As He forgives and saves us easily and simply, He heals and sets us free easily and simply. Church Gist. Jesus Christ still heals all manner of sicknesses and diseases today including raising of the dead. We saw Him do it in the Scriptures and we are seeing Him doing it in our day and age. Matthew 4:23…not only that, He went about raising the dead.
- So it doesn’t matter what the case may be in anyone’s life today, you are coming out of this Service with your miracle in your hand!
But faith is a non-negotiable requirement in receiving our healing and that’s why the focus for our teaching this morning in particular is going to be The Healing Wonders in Faith. Church Gist. And there are going to be 5 principal thoughts that I want us to capture this morning.
- And I pray by the help of the Holy Spirit, as the Word of God infuses itself into our hearts, everything that has been tormenting your body before now will lose its grip in the name of Jesus Christ!
- Healing is the covenant right of every child of God but it is delivered only by faith. That means by redemption, the provision of healing is the covenant right of everyone that is a child of God. 3 John 1:2, Matthew 15:25-28. So healing is the children’s bread. Church Gist. It belongs to the children of God. It is the right of the children of God. It is the covenant provision for the children of God. Exodus 15:26…who are the ‘thee’ there? The covenant people of God.
Everyone that is a child of God has a covenant right to healing but it is important to know that that right to healing can only be accessed through the channel of faith. 1 John 5:4. One of the great contentions in the World is the contention of sickness and disease. It is a raging battle. Church Gist. 1 John 5:4…that means that it is through faith that our covenant right of healing can be accessed. What that means is simple. It means that without faith, we cannot access our rights. This is why we must believe in our healing rights in redemption. We must have faith in the right that God has given to us for healing in redemption.
Remember we saw earlier in the Book of Isaiah 53 how the Bible says “with His stripes we are healed.” Now that Scripture in Isaiah was looking forward to the cross. So the Bible tells us there, it said, “we are healed.” But in 1 Peter 2:24…now Isaiah was looking forward to what was to come. Peter was looking backward to what has been done. Church Gist. One was looking forward in expectation, the other one was looking backward at the manifestation of what Jesus had already done. The good news is this, the cross has come, the death has come, the resurrection has come. Therefore, you and I can look backward at what has been done. We are not expecting our healing provision. It has been made available to us already.
But faith is the spiritual currency that procures our healing and deliverance rights from every satanic attack. In other words, it is faith that we tender to collect what has been provided. It is faith that we tender. You know a currency is what you call in legal terms, it’s called a legal tender. You present it or you tender it for whatever it is that it’s available to be purchased. Church Gist. Money for example is called a legal tender. You take it and you tender money to collect whatever it is that you want to buy. So when they tell you that this thing is ₦5,000 and you bring out ₦5,000 to buy it, you have provided a legal tender that says that thing that you have paid for can be collected.
The good news is that Jesus has paid the price for our healing. Church Gist. But the legal tender for the collection is our faith. When you bring faith, you take your portion.
- From today, I see each one of us taking our portion of that healing right in Christ!
Even death bows to the authority of faith. When faith is in place, death bows to its authority. John 11:39-44. So even death bows to faith. That means that if you are still alive, your case is small before faith. If you are still alive, then your case is small before faith. Church Gist. When faith is available, even death is not a formidable obstacle. Faith causes death to bow.
- Therefore, whatever it is that has been tormenting your body, today, as your faith comes alive, I see it bowing supernaturally in the name of Jesus!
- Faith is a personal responsibility for every believer. It is a personal responsibility for every believer to build up. So we have seen that we have healing right in Christ and that right is accessible by faith. Church Gist. But the second thought is that faith is a personal responsibility for every believer to build up. You don’t just watch to see faith come, no! You consciously build up faith. Romans 10:17. So faith must be built up. It must be consciously built up.
One can be taught how to build his faith but no one can build the faith of another for him. You can be told this is what to do to build your faith but it is your responsibility to build it up. Church Gist. Remember, in the physical, that no one can build another person’s muscles for him. You can watch muscle building everyday. Your muscles will not be built by watching it. It is taking action to build your muscle that builds it up.
In the same vein, we also discover that while the faith of the one that is praying for you is important, your own faith is required to receive your healing. So don’t just rely on the faith of another. Remember that your faith is required for you to receive your own portion, to receive your own miracle. Mark 6:5-6. Church Gist. He (Jesus) couldn’t do mighty works in His place (in His hometown). Why? Because of unbelief. Not because mighty power was not available but there was no faith available to receive it. This is why the faith of each individual must be consciously and deliberately built up.
Like we have in the physical, we discover that our physical heart is required for our physical life. In the same vein, we discover that faith is the anchor of our spiritual life. Like you need your own heart to stay alive, you need your own faith to live your life. Everyone requires his own personal heart. You can’t rely on the heart of your wife, you need your own. Church Gist. You can’t rely on the heart of your husband, you need your own. You can’t rely on the heart of your father, you need your own. You can’t rely on the heart of your mother, you need your own. In the same vein, everyone needs his own faith. Habakkuk 2:4. So it’s our personal responsibility to build up our faith. Don’t wait for the day of battle for your faith to be built up, consciously build it up.
- From today, I see grace coming upon each one of us to build up our faith!
- The faith that heals and delivers is domiciled in the heart. Faith is not of the head, faith is of the heart. Romans 10:9-10. So faith is of the heart. Church Gist. The organ in which faith can be found is the heart of man. In other words, until it is of the heart, it is fake. Faith must be of the heart.
Matthew 9:20-22. She had settled the matter in her heart, if I can get there to touch His garment, I know that I shall be whole. It was not trial and error. You see, there are so many people who are trying God. No! God calls us to trust Him not to try Him and that is why we must come with faith that is of the heart. Church Gist. This Woman did not have to have a discussion with anybody. She said in her heart…Matthew 9:22. So that statement in her heart was the evidence of her faith and the product of her faith was the miracle that she then received.
So you see faith is of the heart. Now listen to this carefully. While only God can see the heart, all men can see the victory of faith. Only God can see the heart but all men can see the victory of faith. 1 John 5:4. God is the only One who can see the heart but when the victory of faith comes, everybody can see it. Church Gist. This Woman had faith in her heart but when her miracle was in her hand, everybody could see it. So don’t just say “I have faith in my heart, it’s just that nobody knows.” No! The evidence of faith is the victory in your life. What that means is that faith is not theoretical, faith is absolutely practical. It must produce evidence. It must produce fruits in the lives of those that have it.
So if I say I have faith, then it must show by the victories in my life. This is why what we believe in the heart is what empowers what we say with our mouth to come to pass. What we believe in our heart that’s what empowers what we say with our mouth to come to pass. Church Gist. So it means that when there is no faith in the heart, what you say with the mouth will not come to pass. The victory that will be seen by all is determined by the faith that is hidden in one’s heart.
This is so important. So you and I must recognize that it will take faith domiciled in the heart to command the victories that we require and when it is inside the heart, the victories will show. Church Gist. That’s the evidence. That’s the proof. That’s the result of the fish that is loaded inside our hearts.
- I pray this morning that by the very Word that you are hearing, your faith will come alive!
- I said, I pray that by the very Word you are hearing this morning, your faith will come alive!
So you find people who are saying things and they are not seeing it. Why? Because it is the faith in the heart that determines the victory that is seen. God’s Servant said that many years ago, some brothers gathered and they were casting out a devil and they said, “in the name of Jesus, come out.” Church Gist. And the devil rose up and gave one of them a dirty slap. You know why? It’s not how loud what you say is, it’s how strong your faith is. When your faith comes alive in your heart, victory begins to show up in every department of your life.
- From today, I see victory showing up in every department of your life in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
When my wife was pregnant with our second child, suddenly she began to have this situation and she was told that her blood sugar was very low and she would have some spells of dizziness. And one day I was with her and I saw her falling down like fainting so I caught her and I sat her down. The next thing again, I saw her fainting again. This time I reacted from inside me, I said, stop! She opened her eyes and burst into laughter. I said, stop! And she burst into laughter and she smiled and looked at me and she said, “ah, other people will ask what is happening? You are shouting, stop.” I said, “my stop means it’s enough. Church Gist. No more fainting.” Stop! Inside my heart, there was a reaction and with that reaction inside, I ejected that shout, stop! And that was the end. No more fainting. No more dropping. You see, it is what is in your heart that determines the effect of what comes out of your mouth.
- I pray for somebody here today, your faith will be quickened alive!
While faith in the heart can deliver on its own, what we say without faith in our heart holds no water. Church Gist. Faith in the heart can deliver on its own but what we say without faith, it holds no water – it carries no power. Acts 19:14-15. So what you say without faith holds no water.
- Today, again I pray for each one of us that our faith will be quickened back alive!
- Strong faith is what is called trust and this is what brings a believer into rest while God takes over his battle. Strong faith is what is called and it is this dimension of faith that brings a believer into rest while God takes over his battle. Church Gist. Romans 4:18-21…what does that mean? That talks about coming to a place where nothing shakes you. You are completely at rest. That’s where Abraham got to. The point of rest, the point of assurance, the point of settlement.
- I see somebody today being quickened into that realm!
We know that it is when you hold your peace that God fights for you. This is so important. Church Gist. We must understand that until your heart goes to rest, God does not go to work and what gets your heart at rest is faith in your heart. That’s what brings God to battle on your behalf.
- For somebody hearing my voice this morning, by the Word of the Lord that is quickening your faith, I see God fighting your fight!
You see, that is what brings a person to the point of rest. Hebrews 4:6,9-11. So there is a spiritual labour that is required to arrive at that place of rest. What is that labour? It is labouring in the Word. 1 Timothy 5:17. Church Gist. Labouring in the Word is what brings us to the place of rest. That means that the more addicted you are to God’s Word, the more fortified your faith will be and when your faith is fortified, in the day of adversity, you are settled. Psalm 125:1.
When you enter into the realm of trust which is the realm of rest, you are unshakable. No matter what is happening around you, you are too sure (you are too assured) of what it is that the outcome of the battle is. Now listen to me, you know many people watching sports have a lot of agitation in their heart. You are watching, you are anticipating, you want your team to win and there is a lot of pressure. Church Gist. But if you know the game has been played and you know the score of the game, the pressure has been deflated. You are watching the game but you know the outcome. So you are at rest. You see, the Word of God is the outcome of the game. When you have read it, you know the end so you are at rest. Nothing shakes you, nothing intimidates you because you are at rest.
Years ago, God’s Servant began to share from the Word of God (Genesis 6:3) about the 120 year covenant. And he began to show us from God’s Word how that we have a covenant of 120 years. 120 years, that is what God has provided for us. So I took myself and I began to count myself. I am among those that will have the 120 year covenant. So I didn’t just say it abstractly. Church Gist. I checked when it’s my 120th year from the day of my birth. It is 2103 – that’s when I will be 120. So except the trumpet blows, 2103, I am supposed to be on ground unshakable, unmovable.
So 2015, I have shared the testimony before. I was driving early in the morning to Covenant Hour of Prayer on high speed on the road. And I know I’m going to serve God and one of the things that God does for those who serve Him is that, He said, “the number of their days He will fulfill.” Suddenly, the car turned and began to face oncoming traffic. 18 wheeler trucks were coming in my direction. The truth is that my heart did not shake. I was alone in the car, I didn’t even shout. Church Gist. I looked at the cars coming, I simply said, ‘Jesus.’ You know why? It is not yet 2103. It is still 2015, I can’t go. It’s not my time to go. So I knew that it is impossible for me to be in any accident. And the time I’m going, I have also determined from Scriptures how to go. Because there is time to go and there is how to go. You know the how to go? Jacob gathered his children beside his bed and the Bible said, “he began to tell them the things that are to come and when he finished telling them, he gathered his own leg, put it on the bed and yielded up the ghost.” That means that he released his own spirit, nobody took it from him. That means that if nobody could take his spirit, nobody can take my spirit. Is somebody hearing what God is saying?
You see, when your faith comes alive in what God has said, you become unshakable in the time of trouble. Is somebody getting what God is saying? So when that doctor tells you “well (adjusts his spectacles) and tells you, well, from what I can see, you have 6 months to live.” Tell him, “well-done, you are not the one that has my timetable. My timetable comes from above.” He said, “my times are in thine hand.” And the One who has your time gave you the time. You are to go back to the timetable and look at it and say, “what does the timetable say?” If the timetable is different from what the doctor said, “doctor, I am sorry. Church Gist. I know you are educated but you are wrong. You are sincere but you are wrong. You may know what you are saying but you are wrong. Why? The One who created me and created you that has my time in His hand has given me the time. Is somebody getting what God is saying? That’s what gets your heart unshakable.
- From now, nothing will shake your heart again!
But all of these things we are saying come because the Word is inside you. It is the Word that brings you to the point of rest. God’s Servant said years ago, he was sleeping and he saw himself in a coffin in the dream. And inside the dream, he began to speak. He said, “satan, you must be stupid because there is no knowledge or counsel in the grave. There is no knowledge, there is no counsel in the grave. Church Gist. You must be stupid.” Instead of shaking and shivering and then succumbing to the assault of the enemy, inside of him, the Word that was with him began to speak and brought the victory. You see that’s what gets us to the point of being unshakable.
- I see each one of us today receiving grace to subdue the enemy!
- Faith is not just believing God but it is obeying God to prove that we believe Him so that we can commit Him to make good His promises. So faith is not just believing God…James 2:18. It is obeying God to prove that we believe Him. So there are things God demands, there are things that God has spoken and when we engage with it in faith, we begin to see Him answer on our behalf.
For example, He says, “is anyone afflicted? Let him pray.” Church Gist. Hezekiah obeyed that instruction and he prayed and God overturned his affliction. Isaiah 38:1-5.
We see also that His Word makes it clear that we are to take the Holy Communion by faith and when we do that, that will renew our strength, our health and our vitality. John 6:48-58. I remember the testimony of one of us who said, he was right there in India spending ₦200,000 every week on bone marrow cancer and a Communion Service was taking place here. And he took the communion with biscuit and fanta and as the Word of God was going on, He said, as God’s Servant stepped down, he said, “He’s stepping into our room.” And they took that communion and by Tuesday (that was on Sunday), cancer had disappeared. Just obeying Him to prove that you believe Him.
How about the Anointing oil? The Bible gives us that admonition to anoint ourselves with the Anointing oil. Isaiah 10:27. We heard a testimony this morning in the Second Service – powerful testimony. A brother by the mercy of God, we had gone out for a crusade in AIT, he gave his life to Christ. He was an occultist. He gave his life to Christ in that crusade and he came to Church during the last Anointing Service and he said that he took the Anointing oil and by inspiration, he took a shot of the Anointing oil. Church Gist. He went back home, he had been having this affliction for many years. He went back home, his stomach began to rumble. He went to the toilet and excreted a catfish. That was the end of the affliction just by doing what God says, by obeying what God says. You see, every instruction from God is for the liberation of man. As we engage with it, we enter into liberty.
- Somebody is entering into liberty today!
However, it is important to know that where you need to, call for help for your healing. James 5:14-15. Church Gist. The good news is that this month in particular, God has decided to descend in our midst to settle every case concerning your health and my health.
- This month shall be your month of liberty in the name of Jesus Christ!
Now, today is our Covenant Day of Breaking Generational Curses. It’s important to know that curses are often generational in nature. Church Gist. They can last up to 3-4 generations, that is, 300-400 years. We see that very clearly in Scriptures. Genesis 15:13-16.
But it is important that we must beware of self-inflicted curses. Don’t allow yourself to become a victim of curses that you inflicted upon yourself particularly by mocking the move of God. Church Gist. However, while curses are real, all curses including generational curses are reverted when one is born again. Galatians 3:13-14.
Therefore, today, every curse is a direct work of satan and his agents and we are empowered to overcome by the power of faith in the finished works of Christ. Church Gist. That means that everywhere you see a curse, that’s a work of the devil and by the faith alive inside of us now, we can subdue the works of the devil.
- Therefore, the good news today is that today, every curse upon any life shall be shattered permanently in the name of Jesus Christ!
It’s also important to know that Kingdom stewardship is one of the ways to activate the blessings of God in our lives. Church Gist. And when blessings come, curses are nullified. Exodus 23:25-26. So the blessing nullifies every curse. It nullifies every curse.
- I see every curse in any department of anyone’s life being nullified in the name of Jesus!
Therefore, everyone of us should expect all traces of curses, satanic, generational or diabolical to be broken off our lives in this Service by the power of the Word and the prophetic declarations that will come in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Remember, no one can curse who God blesses. So as blessings come your way today, every curse shall be shattered! It doesn’t matter how long it has been (100 years, 200 years, 300 years, 400 years) no matter the length, one word from God can silence the generational curses of life. Church Gist. Therefore by the prophetic blessing coming your way, every curse in any department of your life is destroyed in the name of Jesus!
But take note of this as we close this morning that new birth is our access to the blessings. For you to be able to absorb the blessings that are being released, you must first be born again. Acts 3:26. So it is when you turn that it becomes your turn. Church Gist. Until you turn unto God and turn from sin, it is not yet your turn for blessing. Therefore the charge to each one of us is simple, ensure that you turn to Him and then it becomes your turn from Him.
- I see each one of us experiencing the intervention of God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
