We begin our series for our Sunday services today captioned Walking In Dominion Over Sickness And Disease. God’s agenda is to perfect all that concerns us including our health, that’s what we call dominion over sickness and disease. “I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health” (3 John 2). God’s utmost will for us here on the planet earth is to prosper and be in health. Church Gist. So He has this total health agenda for us in redemption. He already paid the price for our total health. We have been bought from the market of sickness and disease to glorify God in our body and in our spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:20. Don’t let any devil make you think or believe that dominion over sickness is not a reality. Did you see sickness in Christ? He is the author and finisher of our faith. Was any of the 12 disciples reported sick? No, just by being around him and around you. Now, He is inside you and I. Where can sickness hide? His environment could not be intruded by sickness. Now, He is inside you. How can sickness intrude your life?
– In the name of Jesus, the encounter of today will establish your liberty.
By way of introduction, the end time Church is ordained to walk in dominion in all spheres of life. Including dominion over sickness and disease, before Christ comes. God speaking said “I will restore health onto you and I will heal you from all your wounds” Jeremiah 30:17. Isaiah 33:24. Before Jesus comes to take home His bride without spot or wrinkle or anything of such. No blemish separating them entirely from the world and that’s where you belong.
If you were not there last Friday, please try to get hold of that teaching. Your mouth is ordained a weapon as a believer. If you are born again, your mouth is not just for eating and drinking, your mouth is ordained a weapon of war. Church Gist. Luke 21:15. Isaiah 33:24. They shall not say “I am sick”. By always saying “I am well”, they are well. By always saying “I cannot be sick”, they are made well.
Remember the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They may look ordinary but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:5. Church Gist. Please understand that God’s Word is the all purpose balm that heals all sickness and disease. Jeremiah 8:22. Jesus is that Great Physician and the Word of God is His balm.
Matthew 8:16. There are many sicknesses without any physical way of knowing what they are but they are there. They say they have checked you out and nothing is wrong but you know there is something wrong with you. They are oppressions of the devil. They answer to the authority of the Word because darkness must bow to light. When light steps in, darkness must bow out. Church Gist. Darkness answers to the authority of the Word. The Word combines the deliverance from all oppressions of the devil and healing of the physical body to whatever area, they must have damaged. You are walking free.
Please don’t let anyone despise the weapons placed in your hands. Having seen God prove Himself over and again through diverse testimonies, let your faith come alive. You saw how Goliath despised the weapon in the hand of David. “Am I a dog that you come to me with a staff and a sling in your hand?” 1 Samuel 17:43. Church Gist. He said wait a minute, you will know that you are less than a dog. I will remove your head from you today. With that seemingly ordinary weapon, Goliath fell flat.
– That Goliath attacking your destiny will fall down flat.
There are certain forces behind sickness and disease and in this series we will be identifying some of them and then go on to the treatment in dealing with them.
The Spirit of Fear
One of the baits of the enemy is the spirit of fear. Fear opens the door to the devil and he comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. Job said the things I fear have greatly come upon me. Everybody is a victim of his fear. It is what we fear that befall us. Job 3:23-25. Church Gist. All that job feared came on him. Fear was conquered as Jesus rose from the dead. Hebrews 2:14-15. Jesus came to deliver us from fear. So fear is not part of your package in redemption. Fear has no legal right over your life if you are a believer.
-Therefore, in the name of Jesus Christ I command every torment of the spirit of fear to get out of your life forever.
Fear is a tormentor. Fear has torments. 1 John 4:18. When your love for God is in place, fear is displaced. Church Gist. When your love for God is intact, fear cannot survive. Love is one great cure against fear. Keep your love alive and fear will be gone. Praise God!
-In the name of Jesus, I decree your freedom from the torments of the spirit of fear from this hour.
And then we have: The spirit of deformity or disability. We saw the story of the Woman in Luke 13:11-16 who was bent over. Church Gist. The Bible said she had a spirit of infirmity for 18 years so it is not a spinal cord issue, it is a demonic oppression. Jesus said: “Woman, thou art loosed!” The devil left. Most deformities are direct orchestrations of the devil.
-Therefore, in the name of Jesus, every disability under the sound of my voice this morning, I command that devil to loose its grip off you. Your sight is released in the name of Jesus. Your hearing is released in the name of Jesus. Church Gist. Every failing organ is back to life because at His name every knee bows. Therefore, every spirit of deformity, disability bows today in the name of Jesus.
Now, let’s begin to examine how the Word empowers us for dominion over sickness and disease. As mentioned earlier, God’s Word is the Balm in Gilead and Jesus Christ is the Physician there. Matthew 9:12-13.
-God’s mercy will answer for your rescue today.
“I will have mercy.” Psalm 107:20. Whenever the Light of the Word breaks forth, one’s health springs up speedily. Isaiah 58:8. At the instance of light, darkness backs out. So when light breaks forth, health springs up. Please, watch! The breaking forth of light is not of the head, it is of the Spirit. Church Gist. The entrance of the Word into your spirit is the breaking forth of light and that shatters the work of darkness out there. Therefore, open up. Revelation 1:10. The Word will only break forth in your spirit, so stay in the spirit when you are hearing the Word. When you are reading the Word, ensure that you are in the Spirit. It’s the way to catch it. Praise God. Proverbs 4:20-21. It imparts on every part of our system – Spirit, soul and body.
-Therefore, by the Word of the Lord this morning, you are returning home with your total health package.
We have this graphic illustration here in Job 33:21-25. It was a description of a terminal disease. Church Gist. No matter how much the enemy has done in your life; when the Word enters, there is restoration, rejuvenation and you are restored back to your former days.
-In the name of Jesus, somebody is experiencing rejuvenation this morning. Whatever damage in your body has been caused by disease and sickness, the effect is wiped off this morning because that Light shines in darkness and darkness can’t handle it. John 1:5.
What is in the Word that heals?
1. The Word is medicinal.
Proverbs 4:22. If you don’t seek, you won’t find. Matthew 7:8. You seek to find and when you find, you are refined. Seek to find. The answer is there, find it. Church Gist. Lay hold on books in your quest to find. When you have found it, there shall be a reward and your expectations shall not be cut off but you must seek to find. Proverbs 24:14. You don’t wait to find, you seek to find. You don’t cry to find, you search to find. Many people have been challenged in their health, they have never made any effort to find so they remain in their situations. You seek to find.
A man got hold of the Book – “Keys To Divine Health” in 1986 in one hospital here in Lagos and on page twenty because he was afflicted with high blood pressure, hypertension and was on admission in the hospital where the daughter was a doctor. Church Gist. After he found that thing on page twenty, he said: “Mehn, I’m going home.” They said: “At your own risk!” He said: “My risk!” He discovered from that page that satan is not a gentleman. You can’t hang around and be begging him: “Let me go!” He left in 1986, I saw him in 1996. “Lord! High blood pressure is nowhere to be found. I’m hale and hearty.” He said it with his mouth. I never knew the Man. Only those who seek will find. If you don’t want to remain sick, seek.
Why do you go from hospital to hospital? To find who has an answer. That’s why you go about and you carry the answer in your hand. You’re looking for the answer on the street. The answer is in your Bible, it is in the bag you carried to the hospital, but you have not found. Don’t settle with sickness, it is not a friend. Sickness is an enemy, it is not a friend. Don’t play with him. Church Gist. Not that: “You know, my doctor is in Ghana, is in Burkina Faso, he has gone to China.” They say: “Doctor, where are you?” He says: “I’m on leave.” Before he comes back, what happens to you? It is not a sin to seek medical attention. What I’m saying is this, there is a cheaper way out, find it. It is not a sin to borrow, it is a weight. There is a cheaper way out. Jeremiah 15:16. Nehemiah 8:10. “Thy Words were found and I did eat them and it became the joy and rejoicing of my heart.” That means they became restoration of my strength because the joy of the Lord is our strength. You find it, your strength is restored.
-Therefore, in the name of Jesus, I decree grace to be a genuine seeker of whatever is missing in your life, receive that grace today!
2. God’s Word is surgical. John 1:3. But we saw how God made Eve out of Adam. Genesis 2:21-23. All that in an instance, no recovery, no opening, no ‘let’s wait a bit.’ On the spot, Eve came. On the spot, Adam was sleeping. Church Gist. God made it happen. It was a divine surgery. Malachi 3:6. So His Word still carries out surgeries today. Praise God! Without any opening, his Word still carries out surgeries today.
– Therefore, every damaged part of anyone’s system will surrender to the surgical power of the Word.
When the Word steps in, every broken part is put together. Amen. That man’s ankle bones received strength. Who gave the strength? Jesus. Acts 3:6-8. Church Gist. That woman that was bent over, it was surgical, surgical operation. Luke 13:12. It’s by the Word He carries out surgeries. “Woman, thou art loose” and immediately she was made straight. God’s Word is surgical.
– Whatever they said is impossible by their knowledge, God’s Word will fix it for you today. Thank you, Jesus.
The Master Surgeon is in the House. His Word is sharper than any two edged sword. He will open it up and close it up without any…no issues. I taught that in one of our meetings in London many years ago and then, this woman went to bed because I said just like you have anesthesia before they carry out any operation on you, that God will show up tonight and He did and He showed up so dramatically. Church Gist. This lady had a fall when she was a child and had carried that waist trouble all her life, but in the night, the Master Surgeon showed up and with some two nurses in that vision and they were drawing things out of her ribs, yellowish things like spaghetti. She woke up in the morning, free forever. Now, watch the miracle. Church Gist. The Master Surgeon was saying what time is it? 5:30 am, looked at the time, 5:30 exactly is when she woke up. That was it, she shared her testimony in that Convention. God hasn’t changed.
– Whatever requires repair shall be put back in shape. His power will make it happen for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. The Word of God is creative. If it’s beyond repair, He will create a new one. Genesis 1:1. Malachi 3:6. He’s still creating today and we saw that creation came by the Word. “And God said and God saw. And God saw everything that God said and behold it was very good.” Church Gist. God’s creative power is transmitted by His Word. Whatever His Word says, He creates. Whatever God says, God creates. So if it’s not repairable by surgery, it is replaceable by His creative power.
– So whatever has gone beyond repair in anyone’s life is declared replaced this morning.
– Your eyesight is replaced now!
– Your hearing is replaced now!
– Whatever went wrong, irreparable, with your feet, is replaced now in the name of Jesus Christ!
– Whatever went wrong with your reproductive system is replaced now in the name of Jesus Christ!
That happens as you put up your faith. Acts 3:16. Faith in His name. Put your faith out. God’s Word is creative. Church Gist. He will recreate any damaged part of anyone’s body this morning and that includes your own!
Those two blind men came to Jesus, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” He asked them, They said yes, “Now, get it” and their sights were restored or call it replaced. Matthew 9:27-29. Church Gist. It went dark, went blind, was over, but Jesus recreated it and they got their sight back.
4. The Word is prophetic. In Ezekiel 37, we saw that illustration in the valley of dry bones. “And I prophesy as I was commanded and the bones came together. And as I beheld, flesh covered the bones. Church Gist. I kept watching and skin covered the flesh.” He said, “prophesy again to the wind and I did as I was commanded and breath came into them and there arose a mighty host unto God.”
– No matter how deplorable your state of health may be, God’s prophetic Word, when you take heed to it, will restore you back to perfection!
God’s Word is prophetic. 2 Peter 1:20-21…This is it, surer than any word from the topmost prophets in the World. More sure! Tried in fire seven times – zero impurity! When you say what God says, God backs it up to bring it to pass. Luke 1:45. Church Gist. Every statement here (the Bible) is as told by the Lord. It’s of no private interpretation. “My mouth it has spoken – God said, and my Spirit it has gathered them.” So every Word here is from the mouth of God. So when you say what God says, He backs it up to perform.
“Blessed is she that believeth; there shall be a performance by the hand of God. There shall be a performance of those things that were told her from the Lord.” Church Gist. When you believe the prophetic Word here, God is committed to perform it.
– In the name of Jesus, whatever pertains to you in this Book that you’re not experiencing now, I decree your access in the name of Jesus!
2 Peter 1:19…So it’s not a thing you hear and feel one kind. You take heed. ‘This is me, God is talking to. This is for me.’ “You take heed as unto a light that shines in darkness until the day dawn. You take, you lay fast hold on it until it delivers. (That’s how prophetic word work – you lay fast hold on it until it delivers) until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts.” Church Gist. It will speak at the end no matter what. When you take heed unto it and you won’t let go, it will deliver. That’s the way it works.
– Therefore, in the name of Jesus, the medicinal power of the Word will deliver your healing!
– The surgical power of the Word will repair your damaged parts!
– The creative power of the Word will replace what is irreparable!
– The prophetic Word will restore whatever belongs to you!
All you need is take heed unto it and then He shows up.
5. The Word quickens our human body. John 6:63. It quickens. It brings to life. It makes alive our system. Church Gist. So when you receive the Spirit of the Word, it imparts on your body, it imparts on your health and that’s going to be your experience from now in the name of Jesus!
Romans 8:11. It quickens. It’s the same Spirit. Church Gist. “The Word that I have spoken to you, they are spirit and they are life and that Spirit quickens our mortal body, causing it to come alive – stay strong (and) agile.”
– No more weakness!
– No more feebleness!
– No more weakness!
– No more feebleness!
There are some that are not sick but they are not well. Early in the morning they are yawning. They haven’t done any work. They slept in the night. They drag and drag. No! No! God’s Word carries quickening power. Church Gist. It carries what? Quickening power. But it doesn’t drop on people, people go to search for it. You go to find. You seek to find and you find to have what to show in Jesus name!
Today is Our Covenant Day Of Rescue. From the Psalms we read at the beginning in Psalm 124, “the snare is broken and we are escaped.”
– May today be that day in your life!
– Every trap set for you that’s making life unbearable in any area including your health, the snare shall be broken this morning!
May I start this way? How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? Hebrews 2:3. Our escape begins with salvation of our souls. Only the redeemed have that covering for an escape. 1 John 5:4. Please don’t assume salvation, experience it. Don’t appropriate salvation, experience it. Church Gist. The devil knows that he has but a short time; he’s gone out on a rampage to do more wickedly than ever. Everyone needs a covering and salvation is a capital covering against all assaults of the enemy. Don’t assume salvation. Don’t appropriate salvation, experience it. 2 Corinthians 5:17. God is out to rescue His people from the power of the grave.
– Today is your day! Jeremiah 31:11-12
– Whatever agents of the devil that’s holding down any aspect of your life today, God has come down for your rescue!
In Psalm 102:19-21…That’s what He has ordained for His people.
– Everyone appointed to death, today is your day of rescue!
In Hosea 13:14, God has covenanted to rescue us from the power of the grâve. “I will rans0m them from the power of the gr@ve. I will redeem them from dĕǎth. O dĕǎth, I will be thy plagǔes! Church Gist O grave, I will be thy destrǔction! Repentance shall be hid from My eyes.” That’s God with a vow. “I will rans0m them from the power of the grâve.
– You have escaped!
“I will pun!sh dĕâth on their behalf.”
– Today is your day!
– No one under the sound of my voice will d!e young!
– No one will bǔry any of their children!
Please listen to this. A cry for mercy is our hotline for rescue to heaven. Everyone that cried for mercy Church Gist when Christ came down here got it. Every cry for mercy will always arrĕst His attention for intervention.
– As you cry for mercy today, heaven will come down!
Christ never turns His dĕǎf ear to a cry for mercy, because His will is to have mercy: “I will have mercy.” Church Gist He is that ever-compassionate physician. A cry for mercy will always secure His attention.
– This morning, no one here will miss it!
When you cry for mercy, it cancels out your areas of err0r. God overlooks your faults to intervene for your rescue.
– Somebody is getting it!
Bartimaeus cried, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” They said, “Quiet.” He said, “Quiet what? Jesus!” Jesus stood still. He said, “Call him. I can’t turn My dĕǎf ears to a cry for mercy. Church Gist Call him! What’s the matter? What do you want?” “To receive my sight.” “Your sight? Get it.” The cry for mercy will always arrĕst His attention.
Mark 10:46–52. Bartimaeus cr!ed for mercy; he got it and returned back with his sight.
– Somebody’s returning with his package as you cry for mercy!
Remember He said in Matthew 9:13, “I will have mercy.” A cry for mercy will always arrĕst His attention for intervention. “I will have mercy.”
Matthew 20:29-31. “And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two bl!nd men sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cr!ed out, saying, ‘Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David!’ And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace; but they cried the more, saying, Church Gist ‘Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David!’ And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, ‘What will ye that I shall do unto you?’ And they said, ‘Lord, that our eyes may be opened.’ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.” A cry for mercy will always deliver.
– Today, your rescue is established!
There is no issue of concern in our life that the mercy of God cannot clear. Mark 1:40 – 41. “And there came a lĕper to Him, beseeching Him, and kneeling down to Him, and saying, ‘If Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean.’ Church Gist And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth His hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, ‘I will; be thou clean.’ And as soon as He had spoken, immediately the lepr0sy departed from him, and he was cleansed.”
– Whatever appears like lepr0sy in your life that makes you smĕll among people, that makes people wonder, “Are you a human being or not?” He will clear it morning!
There was this w!dow that had only one child, a son, and the son was being carried out to be bur!ed. In Luke 7:11-15, when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her.
– He will have compassion on you and me today!
– Jesus will have compassion on you and me today!
Now, it was supposed to be a closed case. He was in the coff!n. They were following the mother to the buryi!ng place. The only son of a w!dow. Jesus had compassion and reversed it.
– Whatever case seems to have been called closed in your life, Jesus will reopen it today!
– His compassion will clear any concern!
– And it will clear that in your life!
Now, this is one thing that will help us: every child of God is redeemed a vessel of mercy. Every child of God. Romans 9:23–26: “And that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared unto glory, even us, whom He hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? Church Gist As He saith also in Osee: ‘I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, ‘Ye are not My people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.'”
Now look at that verse 23. We have been redeemed as vessels of mercy. We are redeemed to enjoy the mercy of God when we are cornered. We are redeemed to invoke the mercy of God for our rescue. Every child of God is a vessel of mercy. Church Gist He is entitled to the mercy of God at any point in time. Let’s take advantage of that this. It is for us who are children of God. If you read that scripture very well, a cry for mercy will deliver in the life of any child of God.
– That cry will deliver in your life this morning!
Most times we want to celebrate our rights, but when your right is not speaking, call for mercy. That means something must be wrong in what you call your right. Call for mercy to clear the m3ss, and then you’ll be out. Church Gist Call for mercy! It will clear the m3ss that may be hidden within your rights. Call for mercy! And you’ll get it! Everyone that called for mercy from scripture that we read got it.
– You will get your own today!
– It will clear every m3ss around your life!
– It will clear every m3ss in your health!
– You will get His mercy today, and it will rescue you from the p!t, in the name of Jesus Christ!
– That shall be your experience in the name of Jesus!
Just before we close, this is what the Lord spoke to me concerning the month. Focus for August 2026, “Word therapy for healing, health and wholeness.” So, it’s a month of word therapy. Church Gist. You are being told what to do to get what is missing.
Now watch these few lines. God shall be putting His word, spiritual pills and tablets into our hands to go and administer the same as is required from time to time. Nurses don’t go about from house to house to help their patients administer their recommended medication. Church Gist. Individuals are required to take such responsibility. God gives the pills of the world out to everyone and it is expected of us to go and administer it. So, you are the one to go and engage with it. God sent His word that is; He gives us the pills of the world to be administered for our healing, health and wholeness. He has given it. We are to go and apply it.
You have heard that God’s word is medicinal, go and apply the message. You have heard that God’s word is surgical, Church Gist. go and engage with it. You have heard that God’s word is creative, go and engage with it. It is prophetic, go and engage with it. It quickens, go and engage with it. Go and engage with it. Nurses don’t go from house to house to administer drugs or medication.
What is in the word? The power of God. He gave them power and authority. The healing power is there. Anything you need is there.
· Therefore, receive grace to take responsibility!
All that came to hear Him and to be healed were all healed. Luke 6:17-19. The healing virtue of Christ is domiciled in His word. So, do not read for pleasure. Read for treatment. Church Gist. Study for treatment. Study to tap into the healing virtue in it. Whenever we release our faith in the word, the healing virtue flows. When your faith comes alive, the healing virtue flows.
· I see that healing virtue flowing in your life in the name of Jesus!
So here is the mystery. Christ is the great physician. All of us who are ministers are nurses. All we do is to dispense what He has recommended. Hello, this is your drug. God bless you. Bye-bye. Church Gist. See you another time. You use it or you dump it. Nurses don’t go about administering it. Ministers don’t go about administering it. Wake up and take responsibility!
Something happened in Lokoja 2009. Somebody was traveling and then his fuel finished at the filling station. I mean, they had closed or whatever. So, he parked there and then a trailer came by with a container. Church Gist. The container fell on his car and crushed him. Another bus was in front; the trailer hit the bus and 18 people died in it. Now, watch what happened… Life story. The man was here on the platform to share his testimony.
Now, listen…. While driving by in the morning… Now, the thing happened about 3:00 a.m. in the morning, but it was until 9:00am before the rescue team came. By the time the rescue team came, he was confirmed dead. So, they took him and the 18 others that died in the other bus to the morgue. Church Gist. Now a member of the church from Kaduna was driving that morning. So, he saw the winner’s sticker on the wrecked car. He said, “No, I need to see where this person is.” So, they took him to the mortuary and by the time they got there, there was some shaking in his hand. That was his rescue.
Now, watch… Before the accident took place, he was listening to one of the breakthrough seminars and he heard me say, “There are no champions without stories of challenges to tell.” Wake up! Now, he was hearing that in his unconscious realm. Church Gist. “Wake up! There is no champion without stories of challenges to tell.” Wake up! Can I tell you what happened? That word entered into his spirit. The spirit cannot be crushed by accident. So, the word in his spirit began to speak. How many understand what I’m talking about? I called for that testimony yesterday to reflect on it.
Please open your spirit. All this one you are cracking here won’t work. It will disappear. But from his spirit he was hearing. There are no champions without stories of challenges to tell. Wake up! There are no champions. He stood here on this platform. Church Gist. When they got him to the hospital, they said it will take 6 months, he said, “No, I’m going now. Now, by time he woke up… By the time he was back, the tape… You know the radio cassette… The tape wound round his hand. It was the only hand that was not affected. The word entered, the tape came out. What is the tape doing for the tape to now wind around his hand? Please let your spirit man come alive.
Today, we just announced that you should get “I’m a winner” sticker. You think I’m selling stickers? No! If you like, do not get it. That’s your problem. What am I doing with stickers? You better wake up! Church Gist. If that man was not passing by, that would be the end. If he didn’t see the sticker, that would be the end. Can I tell you this? God sent me after the same manner that he sent Moses. The hour has come to liberate the world. Moses came to liberate Israel. He sent me to liberate the world.
