We thank Him because He made things happen. How many of you were privileged to be part of the week of spiritual empowerment? Tell your neighbor, ‘you don’t come for week of spiritual empowerment? Sunday Sunday is your own.’ Glory to God! Church Gist. We heard testimonies, very humbling testimonies, you will wait till only Sunday. When we were small, there used to be a tablet we call ‘Daraprim’ they give every Sunday. There are Daraprim Christians. It’s a Sunday Sunday, your parents will give you so that you don’t have malaria. I don’t know whether it still exists. Sunday Sunday tablet. They give every Sunday so that you won’t have malaria.
There are Daraprim Christians; they come only on Sundays because that’s the only day God comes. Most people who have testimonies mostly mid-week services not even Sunday but today, God will change someone’s story in the name of Jesus. Give Him a big hand you may be seated.
I will take a charge and then we share God’s Word. Nothing gladdens the heart of God like soul winning. Matthew 16:26. A soul in the sight of God is of more value than all the wealth of the world put together. God is saying that He values souls so much that He gave His only son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God values souls so much that when He was to leave the Earth, He made a statement, He said, ‘You, this is the commandment that I give unto you, Mark 16:15.’ That was the last commandment that even in the natural, the last statement of any man when he is about to go is regarded as the strongest of all statements. Jesus said, ‘this is my commandment to you.’ Church Gist. So, it is not an admonition, it is a commandment. John 4:35-36. You have been procrastinating for too long. God said, ‘lift up your eyes, the whole place is ripe, put in the sickle, they are ready to come.’ You say where are they? Around you, there are people. Somebody is sick, tell him Jesus heals. Every mortal man who is not born again has one issue or the other. God told us in this commission, each one should win one soul for His kingdom but somebody is not interested in winning souls yet you are saying, ‘why don’t they preach Heaven here?’ We are preaching Heaven now, and the Heaven we are preaching, many do not want to comply with that preaching. Let me say this to you: you can never graduate not writing exams; you can’t make Heaven not winning souls. You say, ‘I want to be a graduate but I don’t believe in exams, you will never be a graduate.’ ‘I want to make Heaven but I don’t believe in winning souls,’ you will never make Heaven otherwise good works would have made people to make Heaven. But Jesus said to Peter, James, John, and Paul, go and preach the Gospel, this is the greatest commandment. Church Gist. Until you keep that commandment, you can’t be a commander. Not winning souls is the highest level of wickedness, it is more wicked than armed robbery. Ask me why? An armed robber that repents and changes will make Heaven. The thief on the cross made Heaven. A believer who does not win souls is worse than an armed robber. Judas was a believer, he didn’t win souls. Church Gist. Judas and the thief on the cross which one was worst? The man who was a thief accepted Christ. An armed robber who comes to Church and accepts Christ will make Heaven. A believer who is like Judas is only asking for money will miss Heaven. So, choose between Judas and the thief.
You’re condemning people and say, ‘don’t mind that armed robber’, but the armed robber may change and go for soul winning. How many will win souls?
- As you obey this simple instruction, may God reward you in the name of Jesus.
God will send a soul your way before this week is over in the name of Jesus but or those of us who are officiating, you are free to be in a service group. For instance, you’re in choir, you can be on the choir but don’t climb this altar if you don’t have your soul. No ministering on this altar even if it’s for the next one year until you show your soul, not that you say I have won, proof of your soul! You’re an usher, don’t stay in front. Any service group who has not won soul, go and stay any other place. In all churches, not headquarters alone; free to be in the service group but you must not appear where people will see you. Since you don’t want to bring anybody for Christ! If you’re in choir you will not sit on the front row, you will not officiate worship or praise. Even if it’s two people who won soul, let the two people only be doing it other people will join them; beginning from the third service. The person for third service say, ‘do you have soul?’ no way, change the person. No pastor should ever preach on any altar without soul winning. Are you hearing me now? Don’t take any prayer if you don’t win souls. It’s the greatest commandment of God so if you don’t value that commandment, what are you coming to preach? Preach to who? We are in Church, if I don’t win souls, I will not preach. But I’ve won, not ‘soul’ but ‘souls.’ They’ve gone to Bible school; not old ones, based on this teaching. And I will still win more before this month is over so that when we get to Heaven, I will leave you. I won’t leave you, we will all go together. Won’t you win souls? If you’re the most wicked person, don’t win. How many of you are very wicked? How many of you are not wicked? Some of you did not put your hands. So you have small wickedness, you have small not wickedness, you are between the two because you didn’t lift your hand for not wickedness so which one are you now? Wicked wickedness. Please win souls. Shout hallelujah!
We are still in the month of the WONDERS OF HIS WORD and today we will be looking at WORD-BASED PROSPERITY (PART 2). In Hebrews 1:3, God’s Word can never fail. In Matthew 5:18, every Word of God has the capability to fulfill itself. God’s Word can’t fail and can never fail. That you don’t believe does not mean God’s Word will fail. God is too faithful to His Word, 2 Timothy 2:13, because everything was created by the Word of God. Genesis 1:1-31, John 1:1-3. All the treasures of the Earth are by the Word. Church Gist. All the resources of the Earth were created by the Word. Prosperity is not for a few set of people. Ecclesiastes 5:9; Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:12. God is not partial, we are all equal in the sight of God, and each one determines his placement after salvation. In Job 22:21-24. It is the depth in the Word of God that you have that will determine your height in prosperity. Hear me: Prosperity does not start with giving it starts with you having the Word revealed to you. I didn’t say I prospered when I had money, I prospered when I got an encounter with the Word. Is that clear sir?
There are two ways people follow, everybody follows each of the two ways: either God’s ways or man’s ways. Isaiah 55:8. Man’s ways: he has his own pattern of doing it. God has His own pattern of doing things. God said if you follow my pattern you get my kind of result. Do you know that the Earth is too blessed for anyone to remain poor? Church Gist. I was studying, and I discovered they researched on the Earth is so blessed for anybody to be poor. Salvation ALONE has initiated you into the realm of covenant wealth. 2 Corinthians 8:9. Do you know no matter how Christ has paid the price you have a part to play? Everything in the kingdom gives you a responsibility. As free as salvation, your responsibility is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. He won’t do that for you. And everything has a pattern in the kingdom of God. If I want to operate in power, I must fast and pray. The key for health is to feed on the Word of God. The key for prosperity is revelation of the Word. Job 29:4; Job 1:3. I have insight to prosperity that many preachers do not have idea about that’s why this Church is prosperous. Have you ever been in this Church and we ever raise a prayer point on money? Never! Yet we are one of the richest churches on Earth. This is a blessed Church why? There’s something I know that many don’t know. When you encounter the truth, you triumph without sweat. The revelation of the Word of God determines how you prosper. Job 22:22. You can’t know the truth and remain poor. Deuteronomy 8:7-9, 18. Church Gist. You prosper in the kingdom of God by operating in the covenant. So you need to understand what the covenant is. A covenant is an agreement between you and God with terms and benefits. God is the covenantor, we are the covenantees. God is saying, do your own part, I am committed to making my own part work. Every time you say, ‘God prosper me, you are saying God I have done my own part.’ God’s part is eternally settled. Many are praying for God to do His own part when they have not done their part. Do you see where they miss it? You don’t ask God to bless you financially when you have not done your part.
The covenant is the platform for financial empowerment. Proverbs 10:22, Psalm 127:1-2; 1 Samuel 2:9b; Romans 9:16; Romans 9:11. It means my strength, my expertise are not enough under the hand of God. No matter what I think I know, if I say God is not involved, I have a limit. One thing about the covenant is that it cannot be broken. Psalm 89:34. So you need to find out what the covenant is. Jeremiah 33:20-25. Church Gist. If you wake up every morning and you see day break and night comes, and no demon, no force, has been able to alter it, if you do your part that is how it will be. Have you ever heard me say, ‘Let all the witches gather in the world, I will never be poor?’ How many of you heard that? Now I am standing on the integrity of this Scripture, that as long as I do my part, since the devil cannot be able to turn 8:20am to midnight, God is committed to making it happen. If it is not working, you have not done your part. Economy can’t break the covenant, that’s how powerful it is when you commit God’s integrity.
- I pray for someone, that whatever God has said concerning you as you obey and do your part, things will work for you in the name of Jesus!
What is the covenant? Genesis 8:20-22. The covenant is that my duty is to sow seed, God’s own is to give me the harvest. How He gives me the harvest is not my problem. If you think covenant does not work, where did we get harvest of property in this Church? In Nigeria or United States? Covenant is powerful; it can bring it from anywhere, that’s not your own business. Did we sow any seed there? Church Gist. No, that was not where we sowed. But did we bring the harvest from there? You can be in Nigeria and God can open your doors anywhere. In case you doubt and say no, with the way the country is hard, Nigeria here, no ministry in Nigeria has ever had such a testimony; not even in America. That’s how powerful the covenant is.
Christians keep missing it, they don’t want to do their part yet they want breakthrough. Harvest is always bigger than the seed, hope you know? Let me share this to you: we sowed a seed some years back, close to 700,000 dollars but the harvest we got is far more than that. When we sowed the seed, it was close to 700,000 dollars, I won’t tell you where we sowed the seed, God instructed me; but it was that seed we sowed that brought the harvest of the Alabama property. Church Gist. Insurance of that property, not the worth of the property, is 7 million dollars. Insurance is your money, you can collect it, not Nigerian insurance. It is only in Nigeria where insurance does not work. So we already have 7 million dollars; not the building. Are you angry? We have not done our part and we are blaming God.
One time I was travelling, life story, and I have a safe where I put dollars for my mentor. After I have removed tithe, I said carry every foreign currency I have, drop inside the prophet offering. Now, the money I sowed, I was travelling in a strange country. At the airport, where I was walking to my boarding gate, somebody ran after me; an unbeliever, doesn’t go to Church. That was my first day I was meeting him. He said, ‘Pastor, wait.’ Church Gist. He introduced himself and told me that he loves me so much and doesn’t miss my program. He said hold on and dipped his hand into his bag and brought one bundle, clean bundle. What I sowed, was almost 10 times the bundle he gave me. I sowed the seed here but I got the harvest in a strange land. How God will bring the harvest is not your business. God said, as long as you see the day and the night, forget it. If you have not gotten any harvest, you have not sown any seed. Say I hear!
Your struggles and sweat will never guarantee kingdom wealth if you are not obedient to what God is saying. Matthew 6:7-34. Jesus preached on 3 topics in those verses of Scripture. If you read verse 7-15, he talked about prayer. Church Gist. From verse 16-18 Jesus talked about fasting. Then, from 19-34, see the verses, plenty; he talked about prosperity. The verses of prosperity were more than prayer and fasting. Haggai 2:8. God’s riches are available to those who practice the covenant. Malachi 3:17-18.
HOW DO I PROVOKE THIS COVENANT TO WORK FOR ME?
God does not determine when you prosper, you determine it; hope you know? Prosperity is not in the hands of God, it is in your hands. If I do nothing about my prosperity, I will be at the same level till Jesus comes.
1997, after we came out of Bible school my wife and I, I looked at our life and said, we can’t go to ministry like this. Church Gist. If we go like this, it is going to be tough. I must know the secret of kingdom wealth. After we were taught in Bible school, I now sat down on my own and said, ‘Lord show me the secret of kingdom wealth.’ I picked 2 books and I started fasting for 7 days. I was not fasting for breakthrough; I was fasting for light, for me to have revelation. While I was fasting, my eyes opened to depth that it is impossible to prosper if you don’t give. So I told my wife, today giving becomes part of us. And we had only 50 naira home and abroad, bank and unbank. Married man, I was not single. 50 naira not 50,000; I’m sure nobody here has only 50 naira. And that day I determined how to walk out of poverty. I sowed the 50 naira, that was where I broke the back bone of poverty. If I never sowed that 50 naira, I would have been poor till date. If I kept waiting when things get better, they will get worst. Church Gist. Let me tell you this truth: things will never get better with you until you change YOUR own life for the better by being a sower and not a stingy Christian. There’s no gift of things get better. I know some of you won’t like it.
1) You must be a faithful tither: that’s the foundation. Malachi 3:10-12. There’s a man who is very controversial. He said that he believes shongo more than God. Such a man you should know that he was not a Christian, but yet he was criticizing tithe. Some of you were following him, yet he is not a Christian. Church Gist. That man is an atheist or a juju priest. Some of you were following him, you say this guy can say the truth. That’s a demon. Most of the people preaching we don’t BELIEVE in tithes, they are demons. You will not listen to men of God, you listen to demons, agents of the devil. The baseline for prosperity is tithing. Tithing is the only covenant insurance recognized in Heaven and preserves the blessings of God upon your life.
2) Give quality offering: Proverbs 11:24-25. Don’t give only when you feel like, sow consistently. Giving is love in action. John 3:16; Galatians 6:7. You have to sow seed of money if you want money and don’t be weary in well doing, Galatians 6:9; Matthew 2:11. Church Gist. Every time you come to WORSHIP, you must open treasures, otherwise your worship is not complete. You must worship God with treasures not with trash. If you worship God with trash, then don’t expect treasures. Any worship without treasure is fake. Let giving become part of your lifestyle.
Financial breakthrough will only respond to seed sown not prayer and fasting. Don’t wait for things to change; you provoke it by continuous covenant exercise. Mark 4:26-29. The farmer who puts seed to the ground does he pray? God said sow your seed, forget it. I don’t pray for money, I sow seed, it comes out. This is where Christians miss it, that’s why deliverance ministries are very poor. Church Gist. They will not teach this one, they will say come and do deliverance, 7 days against pocket leaking demons. The key for power is not the key for prosperity. If you are faithful enough to give, God is faithful enough to bless you. When you’re due for harvest, God will not deny you. However, your consistency in your covenant walk determines how fast your due season will come. If you are not prospering, your giving has stopped. This is my area; I can sleep and preach prosperity. Even though I am sleeping, tap me. I can preach prosperity without looking at note for one week because I tasted poverty and I sat down to get the secret of kingdom prosperity. Church Gist. If I don’t prosper, with the way I am talking, politicians alone can kill me in this Church. Politicians when you tell them the truth, they get angry.
A man in this Church was sowing to me every month. One day, he did something bad and I sat him and said this thing you are doing is wrong; don’t do it again. He got very angry and left this Church. Years back he came back for me to give him money. Church Gist. I told him the truth because I knew my right from my left. He was looking pitiable and had no money to pay transport. I had to write cheque and give him. I could tell him the truth because I was not depending on his money.
If you don’t give me money God will bring somebody from somewhere and speak to him say, ‘go to that man, the anointing on him will bless you.’ Somebody in London said God spoke to him to transfer 8 figures to my account, that his prosperity is tied to that man of God on television. After he gave me everything about his life turned. He has never attended physically in our Church. Prosperity is you who determines it.
PRAYERS:
Ask God to give you a willing heart so as to always give cheerfully and then you ask God to bless you for all the tithes and giving you have been doing.
