Welcome to the Inaugural Edition of the Founders and Assistant Ministers Academy (FAMA). It is my prayer that for every Ministry represented and connected here, that God will move us to our next level! Church Gist. Rebellion will become a thing of the past! Disloyalty will disappear! Every form of anarchy will not be in our camp! God will give us faithful sons and daughters in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
In one minute, we are going to officially inaugurate it, release the oil to speak as long as this platform remains. It is not a Church program, it is a Ministry program! That’s why one of the persons who led prayer is not a pastor serving under me, so we all here are accepted on this platform. In the last four years people have told me, “You have the stuff, gather upcoming Pastors (Young Ministers), the way God has helped and sustain you in this journey, also talk to them, minister and speak to them”. Church Gist. But I refused! And sometimes, I’ll tell them that I don’t have the millions and the billions, crowd and branch that other Pastors have! And then the Holy Ghost will tell me, ” A Pastor who has billions and millions, don’t they secretly copy your posts, articles and materials on social media?”
There was a time that Bushiri, the prophet in South Africa now in Zimbabwe lifted my article word for word and posted it on his social media page- I even went there and commented. This is a live broadcast! At least he would have given me that little credit. Church Gist. That’s the battle that you cannot win! No matter who is backing you, that is my post, you should give me that little credit! And the other people came and said, “Bishop Irabor is not lying, this training material on the social media belongs to him”. And that is a level- it’s a billionaire in his class!
My brother and fellow colleague, Prophet Joshua Iginla also took it in the days of his battles and challenges in the Ministry, he needed that article! And he also secretly took it! And God said, ” The people that you think are better than you, don’t they secretly take the things you do, speak and act! Church Gist. Why not gather them- friends, colleagues, sons, protégés and workers at every level and minister these things to them and let them run with the same fire.
Please feel at home, it is not an Answers Assembly platform! Church Gist. This is a Ministers’ Movement for a selected few either as a founder or an assistant founder, Minister in the making or an ordained worker- Deacon, Deaconess, Pastors, Elders and Head of Departments and assistants at any level.
It is not a father and son’s forum! One of the errors in the body of Christ is that whenever you attend a Ministers’ Conference, you automatically become a son! I can choose to attend a Ministers’ Conference anywhere, that does not make me the son of that Minister. For you to be a son is a covenant responsibility between a mentor and a mentee! That shows that you are responsible to me and I’m responsible to you! Church Gist. That’s what makes it a father and son or daughter relationship. Except you choose to submit!
Feel at home, because this platform is not to inherit sons and daughters, in fact, it is to strengthen General Overseers! As we strengthen the workers and Pastors, for wherever the General Overseers are, they will be strengthened- the work will be easy for them!
Thank you for coming! The program may be quarterly, everytime that we have a special program like anniversary and convention. It could be every three months. Church Gist. With all humility, I seem to be the link between ‘the old and the new- The fathers and the son’. There are certain things that we hear from them that we can talk to you about. And there are certain things that we can hear from you that we can tell them that we need to be put in place! We don’t only teach loyalty, we teach the reward of loyalty!
-I pray that this Movement will take every Ministry to the next level! Church Gist. We declare that this Movement will make the work easy for the set man represented here, to bless every leader, followers and workforce! By the release of this oil on the altar, we declare that this Movement will spread like a wildfire to the world, globe and the North, South, East and West!
Your Ministry will get to the next level!
Having declared the program open, I believe that God will open us to our next level! That you attend a Ministers’ Conference does not make you a son but, that does not mean that who is my son will choose not to be my son. Apostle Ezekiel Joseph is my son. I was in his Church last week, for his annual anniversary. I was there on Saturday evening after preaching at 8 pm and I came back to Warri from Abraka. Church Gist. And I went again after the first Service- I won’t do that for an outsider and for the person that is not responsible to me! I did it as a son to a father relationship, even if I die on the road, I died for my son! So when he led that prayer, he understood that, ‘I am not just in this program because they organised a program but this is the person that I submit to. Feel free, don’t be forced to submit!
Fathers who inherit sons and daughters have an inferiority complex! I can walk into Omega Fire Ministry, I am not a son to Apostle Johnson Suleman, and I have never been a protégé, and I will never be one! But I can walk in and sit down, learn and go!
I am a member of Goshen Club, Pastor Mentorship Club under Pastor Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry. I’ve been there once or twice. I flew from Warri to Lagos and attended that meeting but that does not make me a son to him. But I have been blessed by the Ministry! I need to say this very well because as you come around, come with this mind that, “I am coming for an interactive segment, it is a fellowship and a Ministerial platform!” Whether you are a son, friend, mentee or a protégé! Church Gist. I was at my son’s place after a one week meeting in Canaanland, the father-son thing is not easy for the two parties!
Before I came this morning, I still sent a text message to the person that I submit to as my mentor in the Ministry here in Warri, Pastor K.K and told him that we are having this meeting! I credited his account! I still gave my monthly seed on the first of November. This is just the fourth day of November. Church Gist. I told myself that the seed cannot be too much, I also said to myself that since I have given money on the first day of November that I should send a recharge card of twenty thousand naira.
I informed him that we are having a Ministers’ Conference and this is the first of its kind, I need you to speak a Word! And then he responded immediately! If he does not respond, he is not my mentor and father! Church Gist. And if I do not also recognise and connect with him for his covering and blessing over this meeting, I’m also not a protégé and a son!
We are not here to talk about mentors that will read your text and will not respond, we are talking about your Calling and Ministry. Unlike the Deliverance Ministry, the Teaching Ministry goes with time keeping! Whether you are a prophet or a teacher, whoever you are, everyone needs faithful workers and followers!
I’m seeing most faces who are not my members but most members are also here. I’m seeing more Pastors, elders, deacons and deaconesses from other places. Church Gist. It means that revival has started for a deacon and readiness to leave their business to be here, it means that revival has started! And the revival will last in Jesus’ Name!
So, it is good that you establish your Calling and your Ministry. I’ll break it into two parts, the first one is the place of a Call in Ministry, then the second aspect will be the seven kinds of calling that cannot be faked!
THE PLACE OF A CALLING IN MINISTRY Romans 1:1. One of these days, I pray that all the things that we will teach from January to December, I will have it in a book like this, so that Ministry will be easy. Anytime that we want to prepare a Message for service, it is always a challenge!
Any General Overseer who preaches everyday is a General Overseer with an inferiority complex! Church Gist. This is our anniversary and this is the first time that I am preaching but I did a little Charge on the five ways to praise God- You praise Him by testimony, Thanksgiving, dancing,
Sacrifice of Praise and the Vows and offerings.
Apostleship is by Calling! You may have the Call, but you may not understand the timing of the separation! The Calling may be there but if you miss it in the area of separation, it is a challenge! If the Calling is wrong, the season of separation will also be wrong! Church Gist. It takes a right Calling to come into alignment with the season of separation. When you are sensing a Calling or that God is telling you about your Calling, don’t run from The Calling!
That The Calling comes now does not mean that you should separate now! The Calling may come now and separation may take place in twenty years. There are two kinds of Calling- The Pioneering Calling and The Supportive Calling!
A genuine Call is a foundation for a genuine Ministry! Those that have the Pioneering Call are people who are called by God to start their own Ministry. That you are not a founder does not make you inferior! Church Gist. These are the Reverend Tom Amenkhienan of Christ Embassy and Bishop David Abioye. That does not make them a lesser Minister. As a matter of fact, how many Ministers in Nigeria are richer that Reverend Tom and Bishop David Abioye. How many founders can do the things that those two people do! It pays to stay in your Calling!
To be a supportive Minister is not a reduction- It does not reduce anybody. If I have a choice, I say this with all humility without lies, I will still want to be an assistant Pastor! Church Gist. If God will say that, ‘It is in your choice to decide, there is no pressure from Heaven, no close marking and warning from Heaven’, I go just dey chop my life dey go!
When I was an assistant Pastor, I go misbehave on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday morning, Church go still full. I go chop on a Sunday morning before I go to Ota. You know why? It’s not me, but Papa Oyedepo. Church Gist. To reside from a Church is to become a source by yourself is to disconnect from the Source! So at that point, if you misbehave on Tuesday, e go show for Sunday. As an assistant Pastor, if you misbehave on Saturday night and Sunday morning. On Sunday morning, you will still see the crowd, the crowd came not to the ‘branch’ but to the brand.
In the branch level, people don’t come because they believe the branch Pastor, they come because they believe the brand! As a branch Pastor, you are not working with a Church, you are working with a brand! Church Gist. Even if you are not called by God and they give you a branch, the Spirit of the founder that has made the place to become a brand will just help you where you are, but when you become a founder, you become a foundation digger!
Foundations are not transferable, you may break away from people but you can’t keep them except you are genuinely called by God! Members may love you as a branch Pastor, but they don’t believe you to follow you! But if the branch Pastor is not wise, he will mistake the love that people have for him as faith and confidence in him. You will just think that they believe in you. No! They love you! The question now is? Are you called into a Pioneering Ministry or a Supportive Ministry?
Can I say this very clearly? The percentage of Pastors who are suffering in Nigeria is more with General Overseers than assistant Pastors! When it comes to Full time Ministry, the percentage of Pastors who cannot feed and foot their bills is more with founders than followers.
You know why? If you miss it at these two levels of Calling, it is difficult to survive! You can’t be a supportive Minister and you will go and found a Church. Who will back you up? Church Gist. And if you are a Pioneer and you choose comfort, fear of the unknown and stay under a Supportive Ministry, they will sack you! Our wrong alignment is the reason for our lack of accomplishment! Know where you are called into and stay there. If you become a founder when you are not supposed to be a founder, you will attract founder’s demons that you don’t have the capacity to survive!
In these nine years, I have seen something that could kill me, that could bury twenty Pastors in two weeks, they will just be dying one after the other I have seen devils, I have seen demons, but the only thing that kept me going is the fact that I didn’t miss it when it comes to these two platforms- Pioneering Ministry and Supportive Ministry!
How do you know that you are a Pioneer and you are functioning as a Supportive Minister? You will be doing things that the Ministry doesn’t want, you will be having queries and problems every day. It is a sign that you don’t belong there but you are afraid to step out! You will also be in the Ministry and there will be no result to show for it- you will be doing it by your energy, sweat and strength of the flesh!
My administrative Pastor, Pastor Kanayo told me, “Daddy, we will need an additional generator to support the two that we are using, such that when we are can use the bigger one for the lighting, he said that we can get from either a member so in order to support for the all night vigil”. Church Gist. And then in my heart I said, “At nine years old, we will ask a member for a generator or even ask a member for one.
I told him that I have heard him.
Then on Tuesday, someone walked up to me and said, “Papa, what do you want me to do for this anniversary?” I said, “My daughter, I am shy, anything you want to do, do it!” she said, “Please daddy, anything that God tells you to tell me to do, I will appreciate it”. And as I was leaving, I remember what my administrative Pastor told me about the generator. And I walked up to her and said, “ I was told by a Pastor that we would need a supporting generator.” Church Gist. As I told her, she shouted, “Jesus!” and called a sister close to her and she confirmed that the anniversary gift that she intended to give to the Lord a generator that can carry everything in the Church! She told the sister, “You see! You are not the only mommy G.O, I am also one!”
Hear me! As small as that generator may be, about five hundred thousand naira, you still need it as a sign that who sent you are still with you, because there are many founders buying generators on credit.
There are many Churches that sellers come on Sunday to tell them, “Round up, let me go! Just pay me! That’s why I tell Pastors when they are starting a new Church, if you buy everything, how will you know that God sent you?
You don’t save to start Church; you develop stamina to start Church!
The journey of the Church is stronger than savings! Only stamina can survive it, not savings! You have bought a microphone, pulpit and keyboard and even offering basket, you have bought it! What will the people buy when they come? How will you know that the one who sent you is still with you! When you are starting a Church that is where you will prove that the person who called you, is still with you! You preach to eight people without a microphone and among them if you are called and sent by God, someone will buy a microphone among them! – It’s a sign!
When we started Answers Assembly none years ago, we started with 5 million naira and when the money was exhausted, I stopped! We started in Daniel’s Club.
On the day of inauguration, a woman walked in, I have never pastored her. And after the service, she said to me, “Thank you, for obeying the call of God for your life, I and my family will take care of the equipment.” Imagine if we had gone to buy everything before we started, what would she do? That word that she told me was a confirmation that God sent me!
-I pray for anyone that is into a Pioneering Call, may God continue to give you a sign that He sent you!
How to know your Call?
1.The direct Voice of God Moses heard the direct voice of God Exodus 3:1-4, Saul encountered Jesus directly and he was told what to do Acts 9:1-6. Your Calling is what you must do and not what you should do! And when you don’t do it, you won’t find peace and happiness!
2.Prayer of enquiry Jeremiah 33:3.
3.The guidance of the Holy Spirit John 16:13.
4. Through the Word of God Psalm 119:105.
5. Through Visions and dreams Proverb 29:18, Joel 2:28. God still communicates through the instrumentality of visions and dreams. Church Gist. How did God reveal to Joseph that he should take the baby Jesus out of Egypt? How did He speak again to the Wise Men not to reveal the location of the baby to Herod? Through dreams!
Dream is not an Old Testament language! The problem you have is that, you may attribute every dream that you have to the devil and activities of the day. There are still the Holy Spirit inspired dreams. When it comes to your encounters and Callings, never play with the direct voice of God that you have and the response of the prayer of enquiry!
Sometimes, in between Scriptures, it shows you who you are. Inside every verse, there is a Voice! When you go verse to verse, you can move from Voice to Voice!
Never play with your visions and dreams!
Then, we switch to, ‘THE SEVEN ASPECT OF CALLING’!
By their fruits, you shall know them, not by their tree or leaf Matthew 7:16. Church Gist. Don’t claim to have a Calling, when you don’t have the fruit to authenticate the Calling! Everybody has a specific Calling! Philippians 4:17, Galatians 5:22-25.
Don’t claim to be the Holy Spirit, if you don’t have the Gift of the Spirit and the Fruits of the Spirit. This is the crux of this meeting, don’t claim to be the leaf when the fruit authenticates the leaves and three are missing! 1 Corinthians 7:20. A mango tree is not a mango tree until there is a mango fruits!
If after some time, the fruit does not show up, they will begin to doubt the tree! They call you Prophet, and you cannot prophesy and you are a problem! Forget the name! In fact, it is better to have the fruit without the name and Call! You can’t fake this thing! If you can’t identify with the fruit, then the Calling is fake!
1.The Call to become a Church founder, you cannot fake it. When you are not called by God to become a founder, you will just be copying any Church that you see in town. As a founder, you don’t follow man, you follow God! Church Gist. You may submit to teachers, mentors and fathers but at the end of the day, ninety percent of what you do will come from the place of encounter! Roman 1:1.
If you fake ‘foundership’, you cannot fake ‘followership’! Because before every man that God has called to be founder, there are people that He has called to follow the founder! Never emulate founders, if they tell you what they go through, you will run for your life oo. You will admire the suit, but do you know the pain, regret inside the suit?
Do you know if the suit has been paid for? Church Gist. Even though I don’t do that! I still bought one for my Pastor yesterday for about fifty five thousand naira, we will wear the same color of suit on Sunday- This Pastor has been with me for the past nine years, he has placed me on a salary without failing. He pays me monthly but this year, he has changed it to weekly, he must give me something every Sunday! For me to buy him a suit of that amount, I can’t go and buy on credit for myself!
When a founder starts buying things on credit, such as shoes and even Bibles, my brother! ‘The Church has closed’, because he called himself as a founder! Church Gist.Do you know how many founders who still beg? One founder even sent me a text the other day, he said, “Even if it is two thousand naira, please send it, for you not to hear that I did”. If your caller cannot feed you, please close the Church! If your Calling is fake, your collar will tear!
2.The Call to be an assistant Pastor. We are teaching you loyalty! We are not teaching you to go and say that God has called you to be a supporter when you are called to be a Pioneer! Matthew 4:19. Church Gist. Bishop Abioye has followed Papa Oyedepo for forty-two years now while Reverend Tom has followed for about forty years now. They were together before Christ Embassy started! Can I shock you? If it was not a Call, by now, they would have reacted and left!
After forty-two years and forty years of following their founders, they are still an assistant Pastor!
You don’t outgrow an assistant Pastor as an assistant Pastor! There is no time that you will be an assistant and still function as a founder! Church Gist. You will still be taking instructions, if it is not a Call, you will react and get angry! The problem that we have in the Church is that we ordain Pastors who want to be Pastors! But how many of them are truly called to be an assistant Pastor!
The founder said, “Go and preach the Power of Faith ” and you said, “To hell with Faith’! This Church needs Glory!- You are not an assistant Pastor, you are already a founder who is afraid to start up a Church!
3. The Call to be a Full time Pastor
When you start thinking independently and following instructions, the spirit of a follower has left you! You are a follower as an assistant Pastor! Matthew 4:19. With all humility! Church Gist. If I go and become an assistant Pastor now, I’ll fail! Because even the things that I write on Facebook is a sackable offence! Sometimes, I write things that even the fathers at the highest level will adjust their system and policy.
To be an assistant Pastor, your voice must be your father’s voice, your Rhema, your father’s Rhema! Your father’s revelation, your revelation! The things that you do must be the things that your father approves! The reason why there are problems in Church is that people don’t know what it entails to be an assistant Pastor! Always know that it is a Calling!- That is how God helped me as an assistant Pastor! Church Gist. Why is it a Call? Because you don’t follow God, you follow man! Those who don’t understand this statement run into problems!
Where there is no confirmation between what God told you and what your General Overseer told you, it is a confusion not a confirmation! The call to be a Full Time Pastor demands contentment! If you as a General Overseer begin to put your hands in this and that business, how will the assistant Pastors be faithful to their Calling! Church Gist. Don’t say that assistant Pastors are on Full Time while you go about putting your hands in one business or the other!
All my sons know that they can’t teach me how to do business because, when God has called a man, every person who helps him to come out of that covenant, consecration and commitment becomes an enemy of God! The Ministry can feed you and pay your bills including all the things that you think that those businesses can do for you!- Your problem is that you have not given it all that it takes!
4.To work with a particular Church Acts 8:29. You know why many Churches suffer resignations of Pastors, because they employ Pastors by vacancy and not by Calling! For you to work with any Church is a Calling! You know why? You wey dey like preaching! In that Church, they don’t preach, they watch television! Imagine that in Winners Chapel that they watch television, there will be no ‘Pastor Sharp-Sharp’! Church Gist. Don’t sit down in your small Church with your Spiritual father in charge and be envying what will kill you!
One of the most fulfilled Pastors are Salvation Ministries Pastors, yet they watch television every Thursdays and Sundays! Except if Papa Ibiyeomie travels, he must preach on Sundays and every other branch connects via televisions- That is the vision and mandate that God gave him. Church Gist. God told him, ” You will use one altar and preach to the whole globe”. Anytime that you are complaining about a Church, you may have a Calling in the Ministry but you may not have the calling to work with that Church!
I can’t operate in that manner, because I need people to unleash their potential! But there is also the challenge of people preaching everything that they like differently in different ways on a weekly basis, there is confusion!
5.The Call to serve a man for the rest of your life John 8:35. Most of the, “I will do with you” ends up as, “I will dine with you”. As long as the dining is ‘on’ the dying is real! But when the dining table breaks, the good finishes and the kitchen is dry, it is no longer, ” I will die with you”, you will die alone! All my Pastors joined the same day we started, but for me to have this one, it means that I survived the burial that the other ones put me through. There are people who are ordained to be with you for life, everybody must not be there with you for life! Church Gist. When you have this understanding, those who are not ordained to be with you for life, when they are ready to go, you will bless and release them! It will be madness for you to say that somebody leaves you, he is your enemy for life! There is nobody that will leave me now that will cause me to leave Ministerial work, this is the breath that I breathe, not even my wife!
Be strong enough to see people go, some are called to be there for life! When you have this Calling, to be there for life, if you disobey, you destroy yourself for life! Nobody chose anybody, some people left comfort and carried coffins! Some people just disconnect from what beautifies their lives and they found themselves in a place where the Glory and Beauty left them.
-I pray that you will not disconnect prematurely!
6. The Call to operate a particular Ministry Gifts Roman 11:29, 1 Corinthians 12:9-11. If you are not engraced to genuinely operate that Gift, you are not called and equipped with that Gift, you will fake it!
The Glory has left many Adam, what they have left is the leaf that they cover themselves with! Church Gist. You are not engraced to become an Evangelist, you will see fifty people and you will tell us that they are five thousand people. Where you see falsehood and deceptions are the places where people gave themselves the name that God didn’t give them! If you don’t have discernment, don’t say that you have it!
7.The Ministry office that you are called into. We have five of them: Prophets, Apostles, Teachers, Pastors and Evangelists. Apologise to all those who can themselves, ‘Prophets’. If you can’t prophesy without deception, then you are not a prophet! Don’t fake any aspects of your Ministry! An Apostle must be able to teach, prophesy, preach and do all kinds of things in the Kingdom. When it is your calling, it will be your capacity, your nature and the testimony that you see! Are you an Evangelist? Church Gist. Then go for outreach! You are the Pastor, the finger that carries the ring, affection! Forgiveness! Patience!
Pastor is like a doctor, the person is smelling, you will treat him! You will clean up the poops and blow fresh air in the smelly mouth! Church Gist.
