Happy new year to you once again. It’s the first Sunday of the first month of 2021.
Hallelujah, Oh I am so excited, Glory to God, thank you Jesus. We have the opportunity to start afresh but first things first. Oh, by the way if it’s your first time ever of joining us in Daystar Christian Centre, God bless you, God bless you! Thank you for joining us today. You may be at any of our physical location at Lekki or Badagry or Alimosho or Ikorodu or Oregun or at our Star hub, thank for joining us.
What a day to come to Daystar Christian center and we sincerely pray that you will be blessed and that this will be the best year you live until now in the name of Jesus Christ and just in case you are joining us on any of our platforms online or on TV, a very special welcome to you also today.
So, yes, let’s start from here! I believe God for something, that this year you will enjoy clarity in knowing what to do. For you this year, no confusion in the name of Jesus Christ. So, let’s be clear about our objectives as a church.
-Our vision remains the same to raise role models. Example: leaders, people that influence the society for good.
Now, we raise role models as people that have the character and the competence of Christ. In God’s estimate, in God’s Wisdom that is the solution to the problems of our world, right, for people to become like Jesus Christ, for people to have the character of Jesus Christ.
I mean just simple illustration, imagine that Jesus was the President of your country, how do you think the country will go or that He was your Governor. Imagine that Jesus Himself was the Pastor of your church. I mean yeah, you would get a better deal than you are getting now.
Hallelujah! Okay but the implication of that is that as long as I continue to develop the character of Christ and the competence of Christ, I develop the capacity to love like Christ, you would get a better deal as a church member.
So, look at it in another way, just imagine that Jesus Christ was the husband to my wife and the father to my children, they would get a better deal, wont they?
Okay, this is how God designed it. Therefore, that Jesus Christ would live in me and live out His character. I don’t know but we always think some magical persons somewhere will come change our countries, change our organizations.
Honestly let us get people to become like Jesus Christ and the starting point is us to develop the character and competency of Christ.
So, wherever you are, whatever it is that you are doing this year, please remember that you are a role model, you’ve got to reflect the character and the competence of Christ.
Now not only that you have to commit, to enlist as many people as possible to join in this pursuit, in this noble objective.
-Our mission, what we do daily to arrive at that goal is to empower you and I to discover, develop, release and to maximize our potentials in God. The key word there is ‘EMPOWER’.
Daystar cannot be a place where people are disempowered. It can’t be a place where you come with self-esteem and leave with low self-esteem, oh no. It’s a place where we empower!
Alright, so please pay attention to all of our training programs. They are very empowering. The messages very empowering. If you listen to the ones that were preached 20 years ago, very empowering, they will still bless you because God’s Word has no expiry date on it.
-Our value, very critical. Our values, the standard, the principles by which we live form the acronym IREAL. Okay it used to be REAL, we’ve added the I.
-The I stands for innovation. Daystar Christian Center is an innovative place, we don’t stay on one spot. Okay, we are inventing and re-inventing, we have quite a bit of that to do this year.
The R for Righteousness or Integrity.
The E stands for Excellent.
The A for Accountability and the L for Love, our greatest motivation.
Those values have got to be influenced in your decision making every single day as a role model.
Alright, so the final thing I will say is we’ve got to go by what Jesus Christ told us to do.
Yeah, your greatest testimony this year won’t be about what you acquire or do. Yeah, your greatest testimony this year won’t be about what you acquire or do, it will be about who you become and who you influenced.
I will say that again, your greatest testimony this year won’t be about what you acquire or do although you are going to acquire a lot and achieve a lot, you are going to do a lot but your greatest testimonies are going to be about who you are becoming and who you are influencing.
-Maximize your influence for God.
-Positive influence for God this year.
-Affect as many people as possible. Get people to know Jesus as Lord and Savior to enjoy the forgiveness that He offers and more importantly, to enjoy the power of the Holy Spirit that transforms our lives to live like Jesus Christ.
God will help you and God will help me. We will end this year better than we are starting it in Jesus name. if you believe that say a powerful amen.
Amen, alright, today is not a day for long talks, okay, because what we came here to do is to dance.
It’s the first Sunday of 2021, remember, so we are going to do some dancing and praising God here but just before we do, let’s me share this with us from God’s Word.
I will title this a new thing, a new thing. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT)
“But forget all that it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. God’s speaking here. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland”. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT)
If you believe that say a powerful amen!
The word that God has given us for this year is NEW BEGINNINGS. New beginnings, so there is so much in the realm of the Spirit that is coming on the earth, the reset button was pressed last year.
We were on first Sabbath so to speak on Jubilee, okay and the systems have been shaken really hard. Okay and of’ cause what God is trying to reveal to us at the foundation we’ve been building on
What did Jesus tell us to do?
Love God, love your neighbor as yourself. That’s it!
Anything not built on love, anything built on lust, on greed, the greed for money, the greed for power, the greed for sex, anything we’ve being building on values outside of love, they are shaking and they are coming down.
Yeah, so God wants us to build and He is saying it’s time to rebuild now. He says He is going to do something new.
So how do we play our own parts?
Just some little bits of advice here.
-First, let go of the old. God says He wants to do a new thing. Let go of the old.
Right, in 2021, things will begin to return to normal, but let me warn you not the old normal, the new normal, not the old normal, the new normal.
Yes, body and nature does not like the new, well it likes the new but it does not enjoy the process of getting the new so eventually it rejects the new and goes for the old.
Luke 5:39, hear what Jesus said: But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say” Luke 5:39 (NLT)
Wow, so prepare your mind this year, okay, we are going for the new, amen.
-Question everything. Question everything as a Christian. When God says He wants to so a new thing, it means, He is bringing a fresh understanding, fresh perspectives to the understanding of His Words and things we’ve being doing.
We have to realize as a Christian, many of the things we do are traditions. There’s church tradition. They are not essentially in scriptures.
So, you’ve got to free your mind, okay, and even the ones that are in scriptures, you see, you have to realize God works in seasons. God works in dispensation.
-If you don’t want to be working against God this year, open up your mind and this is important, question everything.
Listen to me, when you are a person of faith, you have to understand that the potential for manipulation is very high especially from those of us that teach, very high, be like the Berean Christians in Acts 17:11 because Paul the Apostle said these people were more noble than the believers in Thessalonica, he said they received the Word of God with readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily to see whether those things were so.
-You need to question
everything you have believed.
-All the scriptures you have been reading, as you read this time around, question everything so you can read with new eyes, see with new eyes.
While God’s principle will always be fixed, the love principle will never change, the love God will never change, the love your neighbor will never change but the methods, how this find expressions, you know in various areas of our lives, various industries, the economy, politics and so on, the methods are going to change. Question everything.
-Refuse to conform; get ready to be transformed. You remember Romans 12:2(NKJV), do not be conformed to this world, but be ye what, transformed. Its either you conform or you are transformed.
-You want to experience the new thing that God wants to do, don’t conform, that’s it.
-Don’t go with popular opinion or thoughts, the majority is not always right in God’s economy, alright.
-Secondly, be open to divinely inspired and innovative ideas. All things are created with ideas, the basic raw material with which God creates anything is thought.
-All things are created twice. The first is the spiritual and mental creation and then there is the physical recreation.
-Be open to new innovative, divinely and inspire ideas from God. One word, one instruction from God will change your life this year, I promise you that.
Luke 5:4, Jesus speaks to Peter after a night of failure of not catching any fish, He said Simon, take your net and launch out into the deep where the water is deep, throw your net there. A breakthrough happens.
Get ready, I said get ready in your career, your finances, your business, just get ready because this year, you will just get divinely inspired ideas and God does not need to shout, he will just come slightly and that will be it. Good.
And then when you do that, you have faith, we call it walking by faith. Walk by faith this year. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
The sight there is the five senses. You will have to disregard what situations and circumstances are saying, yes, this year you will have believe in God’s word and give it the superior over everything else.
Wow, thank you Jesus.
And you know one thing that I see, talking about the competence of Christ, the gifts of the Spirit that are going to operates through our lives. The Holy Spirit is going to work. Oh, thank you Jesus.
The Holy Spirit will be able to work. Walk by faith and walking by faith is to act on the Word of God.
Ezekiel 37 and we are going to dance and we are going to pray and dance.
Ezekiel 37, when we walk by faith, miracles happen. Let me read from verse 1-8 (NLT)
The important thing here is, yes, we have a lot of carcasses of career, the carcasses of a lot of businesses, the carcasses of even relationships and so on. We have the national economy in shambles, even the effects of the pandemic are going to deepen this year but in the midst of that, God is saying miracles are going to happen. What is naturally impossible are going to be possible for us. Son of man, he said can these dry bones live? The Prophet said only you can answer that question from what I am seeing.
God said you prophesy. Today, in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask you to Prophesy.
You are going to speak in the name of Jesus Christ under this inspiration of the Spirit of God and the power of the Holy Ghost will move. The Spirit of God is going to move on your behalf into this year and the testimony begin now in the name of Jesus Christ.
So, someone, can you please say this after me:
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that 2021 is my year of new beginnings. I believe what God has said concerning this year. I am who God said I am. I declare my oneness with Christ. Whatever cannot stop Christ cannot stop me. This year, what God says is my reality not what the situations says. I declare by the Spirit of God, I am in for the new, I reject the old. I am open to new ideas, creative ideas. Miracles happen in all areas of my life. New testimonies in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, so I speak to dry bones, whatever God has provided for me for this year that seams not to be working, come alive, come alive now in the name of Jesus Christ.
