27th November 1999: An in-house consortium on the take-off of Covenant University (CU) is inaugurated. Their activities were wrapped up in early 2001 and this led to the development of the appropriate structures required for the smooth take-off of the University. CU welcomed her first batch of students in October 2002. The University was founded by the World Mission Agency, an arm of the Living Faith Church Worldwide. It is located at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State Nigeria with state of the art facilities. It has a vision “to raise a new generation of leaders in all fields of human endeavors.” It is the leading University in West Africa according to Times Higher Education.

27th November 1994: Leonard Ravenhill goes to be with the Lord. He was an English Author, Revivalist and an Evangelist. He was a man given to prayer and study as he spent 12-14 hours praying and studying the Word of God on a daily basis. One of his books is: ‘Why Revival Tarries’. He passed on to glory at the age of 87.

27th November 2012: Evangel University Akaeze commences academic activities. The University is founded by the Assemblies of God, Nigeria (AGN). It has a vision “to give total education to the total man and so produce graduates who shall be equipped and motivated to be leaders and role models in Nigeria’s public and private sector.” The current Chancellor of the University is Reverend Abel Ukachi Amadi, who also doubles as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Nigeria. The School is located in Ebonyi State.

27th November 1970: On a trip to the Philippines, Pope Paul VI is attacked by a dagger-wielding Bolivian painter disguised as a priest. Though the Vatican announced the Pope was unhurt, he suffered a chest wound in the assault.
