There is nothing more frustrating than to know where you are going without knowing how to get there. It is great to know where one is going but it is greater to know how to get there. Where we are going is well set out in scriptures by reason of our well laid out detailed inheritance in Christ. The big question is how do I get across? How do I lay hold of it? I am sure what we have been doing all through this month is unveiling gateways to flourishing in hard times which are not just coming, they are already here. Church Gist. It is important to learn how to shield yourself against the horror of hard times. Depressions come so slowly and they go very slowly. Just like wartime, the war may last for just twelve months, recovery may take years to bring things back to normal. If these things must be, then it is wisdom to learn how to shield oneself against the horror of the last days. Today being the last Sunday, the best things of God are always reserved for the last, may each one return with an encounter of a lifetime.
Lord Jesus, you sent a Word to Jacob. It changed his story forever, send each one your Word today that will change our story forever in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father.
Remember the prophetic focus for the month is IN THE DAYS OF FAMINE I SHALL BE SATISFIED. Who is this man that shall be satisfied? Psalm 37:18-19. Not everybody. The Lord knows the days of the upright, the ones that don’t play games, the ones that don’t cut corners everywhere. Their inheritance shall be forever. It will answer on their children’s children forever. So we need to find our place in that space. Church Gist. Men on the right track, men who uphold the integrity of the Word in their personal lives, not poaching. Their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. We saw that kind of man in Psalm 1123:1-3. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord. A raw interpretation of being upright. Does God approve of this? No! So I am not going to get it. Psalm 112:8-10.
When God blesses, no wicked can avert it. All these stories of someone chasing you or someone abusing you, are old wives’ fables. If you walk solidly in the covenant, you are untouchable. If people were touchable, they would have touched me. The covenant cover is the strongest cover under heaven. The one that will tamper with it must tamper with the sun and the moon and stop them from existing. Church Gist. Maybe you have enemies, I have enemies within and without. I am blessed with them. My life will not be here where it is without enemies. It is conquering that makes a conqueror. It is fighting that makes a champion. You can’t be a champion in your bedroom in sports, you go to the field and fight it out. The covenant is unbreakable by any mortal man or by any devil. Take a strong position in the covenant of fortune, you never become a victim of misfortune. Take a strong position, don’t guess, don’t fake it.
Men and brethren, there is no shortcut to experiencing fortune in famine outside the covenant of seedtime and harvest which also interprets as the covenant of giving and receiving, sowing and reaping. Genesis 8:22. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. Church Gist. So sowing and reaping is all about giving and receiving. Philippians 4:15. So when you engage in the covenant of giving and receiving, sowing and reaping, you are under a strong covenant covering which is the strongest of all coverings.
Now watch, when you give to those who hate you, you are heaping coals of fire on their head. Whosoever rewards evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house. You have it in your Bible. So don’t bother about it. Even when you do good wrongly, it is still good. Church Gist. When you do good amiss, I have done several. I have done some good to those who I didn’t know hated me so bitterly but it is still good. Because it is getting better for me. Doing good is good even when it is done to the wrong people. That’s how powerful that law is. Don’t look for shortcuts, it never works. Look for the covenant route to where you are going.
Let me tell you something that will interest you, no other abundance platform can stand all seasons, Only the covenant. The overruling law in Economics is all things being equal. This thing works when nothing is equal. That is the supremacy of this. We are now 43 years in ministry and we have never begged. Church Gist. Has all things being equal in this country? No! They have been grossly unequal, bitterly equal. So it is not about the environment, it is about your person. Your covenant stand is what determines your place, not the environment. Your business is not answering to the environment. It is answering to the covenant.
There was famine in the days of Abraham and Abraham emerged an emperor in the midst of the famine. He had an army to himself. There was famine in the days of Isaac and he became the envy of the Philistines. In the midst of famine. Genesis 41:56-57. The famine was all over the face of the earth. That is what is coming. If you like run to anywhere, famine will welcome you there as you arrive. ‘Welcome to another famine land.’ It was grievous. All over the face of the earth. There is nothing new under the sun. It has always been. Church Gist. Ecclesiastes 1:9. You better take cover. Genesis 41:56-57. 1 Timothy 6:17-18. From their seed in the time of plenty, they will be drawing in the time of famine. That’s where we are drawing from. We are drawing from our reserve account in heaven. Hebrews 7:7-8. Abraham was a tither, we saw that in Genesis 14. Jacob vowed to pay the tithe of everything that he returned with. That implies he taught Isaac how to tithe. It was a tithing lineage. They were heavily shielded from the devouring forces in hard times.
I was alive here when naira and dollar were the same and I am alive now when naira has changed level. I am better off today than when naira was equal to the dollar. It has nothing to do with the environment, the covenant is superior to the environment or the economic climate. Taste and see that the Lord is good. All this arithmetic you are doing is creating problems for you. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Malachi 3:11. All said and done, all principles being propounded are okay but they only work on the seedtime and harvest. Church Gist. Give cheerfully, you give first. Cheerfully without giving doesn’t work. Willing doesn’t work without seed. It is giving seed willingly that makes willing work. This thing works on auto.
You are here in Church, when did we raise the last prayer point on Send us money because the Ark is ‘Arking’. You got through to 83 nations in one year, there was no ‘Shall we give offering, we are going to 83 nations.’ How did we get there? The first phase of Canaanland was bought without the Church’s knowledge. The Church did nothing. We just said Praise God, we got a land. Now we have the C of O. All we did was Wall of Fire offering to build the wall that is around it. Church Gist. God doesn’t need you and me for anything, you and I need Him for everything. Why the pride? It is meaningless. If God ever needs help, you are not qualified to be contacted. Nigeria has a problem and they will now come to your house, which way can you help us economically. Econo… what? No! No! You are not qualified. So don’t say what Papa is saying is so that people can pay tithe. Don’t pay forever. I owe you a job to tell you what works and what is working for us as a Church. It is working for me forever. O’n sise fun emi o( It is working for me o) It is working in my life like fire. Like fire!
I am doing a book towards September, Snapshots of my adventure in the faith. Kan ti e mo itu mo (Let them even know the meaning)? They may think it is magic. There is nothing magical about these things. It is a calculated covenant walk. An avowed quality walk with God. No matter what obtains on the earth, this Church will remain on top. The things that keep us on top we have proven it and we won’t stop doing it no matter what obtains. Church Gist. In the same vein, no matter what happens on this earth, you will be on top. If you mind these simple things, just mind them. They are for your good. You can’t come to Church till forever, if you are not a giver this thing doesn’t apply to you. Somebody has just escaped.
The Kingdom abundance anchors on the covenant of seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping, giving and receiving. There is nothing magical or mystical about abundance in the Kingdom, it delivers absolutely on the covenant. Psalm 89:34. If you can’t break my covenant with the day and the night, then forget it. Church Gist. No force of hell can break my covenant from having his way. No matter the grossness of the darkness, light will always have its way. So commit to a quality covenant walk and you never get stranded in life. The good news is it is your turn at last.
Job 22:21-25. Nobody playing games has a future in the Kingdom. Hear this and hear it forever. If that is your trade, stop it. Yahoo Yahoo business, stop it. Grabbing people’s ATM Card details, stop it. Stop it! You are on a very fast lane that always ends in bitterness and destruction. There is the law to mind. The law of sowing and reaping. The law of seedtime and harvest. The law of giving and receiving that is the law. Engage with that law cheerfully. Engage with that law willingly. Engage with that law tirelessly and watch how you begin to lay up gold with time. Church Gist. You may start with bronze and go to silver but you end up with gold. We had no lack 40 years ago when our total income was ₦18,600 in a year. God’s blessing on the five loaves and two fishes kept us going we never borrowed. That is not gold yet, that is bronze. We are moving gradually, we moved to the realm of silver and as we kept doing what He said to do, He is moving us gradually to the realm of gold and we are still moving to the realm of having gold as dust. That’s how your life will be moving. Don’t stop at the bronze level.
When you sow a seed, it doesn’t come the following day as harvest. It goes through a process, first the blade. Then the ear, like the flowering and then through pollination you have the full corn (Mark 4:27-28). You don’t sow seed today and go and grab it tomorrow, like young people! Get rich in five minutes is a risk. Become a millionaire in one second is a risk. Even herbalists don’t say that. First the blade, that looks like grass; then the flower, looks like an ornament planting and it is supposed to be a crop and then suddenly the full corn. The corn begins to mature. You can’t eat it while it starts forming, you wait for it to mature then it becomes consumable. Church Gist. There were things I learnt very early. That seed does not deliver overnight, seeds go through a process, they call it gestation period before it delivers its fullness. People can’t wait. They are in a hurry so they end up in horror. Do you know why people steal cars? They can’t imagine themselves buying a car in their lives. ‘So if I must ride I must steal. If they kill me, so let it be.’ You only steal what you don’t believe is attainable. If you lose your pair of bathroom slippers, can you be looking for it in my house? No! People only steal what they believe they cannot attain. A friend kept money with you and you claimed it was stolen when you are the one who stole it. Nobody came to your house. ‘Buy me a car when coming to Nigeria’, you bought a car of 3 million but you said it is 7 million. You have used four million to block your destiny. You are hearing me now.
I have never seen anybody thrive on inheritance. Isaac had the inheritance of his father but Isaac sowed in the land. Isaac became the envy of the world by what he did not by what somebody else did. At 25, I told my father that whatever belongs to me, give it to the others. I won’t need it. I didn’t have a plot. Young people keep hanging on. Nobody has ever secured a place for himself in space by inheritance. Isaac inherited an empire but never secured a place by it. Isaac sowed in the land. I want to assume that the famine consumed that inheritance. I am just thinking so. I don’t know. Whichever way, Isaac never made a name by that inheritance. You better make your hand a sowing hand. First, a working hand. If you don’t work you don’t have what to sow. Tell them that steal not to steal again but to work with their hands so they can have what to give. You will work before you can earn and then have what to give. Isn’t God wonderful? Church Gist. The good thing is this: Your life is not stopping at that bronze stage. You are moving on into the silver phase and you will arrive at the gold phase. You will get to the point where you lay up gold as dust and your generations will draw from it.
The mystery of the covenant one more time is that it works in season and out of season. It works in plenty and in famine. It worked for Abraham, it worked for Isaac, worked for Jacob and it worked for Joseph. Famine was so grievous they were offering themselves for sale. Church Gist. You put ‘For Sale’ on your body just to have what to eat. Genesis 47:15-27. In the midst of it, God’s people were gloriously exempted. People were selling and they were buying. They multiplied exceedingly in the midst of famine. That is you God is talking about.
Channels To Which We Access Returns On Our Giving:
- Through The Blessings On The Works Of Our Hands.
Let me say this: Before you find what you want, whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. Prosperity belongs to workers. He blesses the work of our hands. There is nothing in doing nothing. Nobody tied your name to a bank, your name is not tied to an oil company. There is nothing in doing nothing. We had a young man in Kaduna who came from the U.S. with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He could not get a job then, it is not as bad as this. He went to the market and checked how much they sold one drum of palm oil and went to Edo to find out how much they sold. The margin was huge. He became an oil merchant. Oil is oil whether petrol or palm oil. Church Gist. He bought a house in G.R.A. Kaduna. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it. Sitting in your mother’s lap is wasting your destiny. One of my sons made two million from doing specialized lessons around teaching Economics. There are many lazy drones in town. This young man (me) bought himself the first pair of shoes while I was in Year 3 from digging foundation at a construction site. I had blisters and I felt like a man. I bought myself a pair of shoes. They call it Apollo. That’s why I am now in the sky. It has a flat front and when I enter into it, it is like riding a car because I bought it with my own money. Church Gist. A whole graduate asking ‘Mummy what am I to eat?’ Your mother will cook for you after paying your school fees? Why did you go for NYSC? Is it not to expose you to what is happening around the world? ‘I must go to America after NYSC’ Go now! Don’t you know the road? Go! You see your mother pinning your survival. ‘If I don’t go, nobody will rest in this house.’ It is you that will not rest. Some parents are too lenient. You must go, to go and do what? To go and read English. English that we are speaking freely here? I don’t think America added one vocabulary to my English, the one I learnt from here is the one I am using. What is your problem?
There are many Christians who are doing nothing. My old man said when I said he should sell his properties and rest instead of going around saying you are looking for tenants. He said ‘So how will I pay my tithe?’ I said from what we give you. He said no! God knows who gave me. He will transfer it to the account of the person. You better wake up and work. Ephesians 4:28. Do good work, not armed robbery. Church Gist. You are getting to some practical details of prosperity now. ‘I am believing God’ believing God for what? He said whatever he doeth shall prosper. If you multiply one million by nothing what happens? Nothing. Nothing by one billion what happens? Nothing. Deuteronomy 28:12. The blessings are on the works of your hand.
- Divine Direction
He leads you to where the blessings are waiting. He leads you to what will make things work. Genesis 12:1-3. Isaiah 48:21. When the Lord is your guide, you shall not want. Church Gist. He will lead you beside still water, not troublesome water. Only goodness and mercy will be following you if you let Him keep leading you. Let God lead your steps. - Through The Words Of Our Mouth
What you say today is what you see tomorrow. Stop talking chaff. You shall have whatsoever you say. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21. Matthew 14:27. Mind what you say, it is what defines what you see tomorrow. “Nothing is working” Church Gist. That is what you will have. “It never works here” Good luck. ‘Nobody can build a house under this condition if he is not a thief’ Well done! Go and steal. Ecclesiastes 5:6. What we say can destroy the works of our hands so be careful what you say. - Through Divine Favour
Nothing flies like favour in the Kingdom. It keeps you flying. Favour causes believers to fly. You have trekked enough, you have run enough, it is time to fly. Favour moved Joseph from slavery to a member of the family and to the heir of the family. What an advancement. Pharoah committed all his household to Joseph that he never knew where he came from. Church Gist. Favour took him from the prison straight to the palace. That was a rocket flight. Nothing flies like favour. God favours those who favour His cause, who are committed to walking in the Covenant and He hasn’t stopped doing that. Psalm 30:5-7. Psalm 102:13-15. - Through Parental Blessings
We secure parental blessings by honouring them. Church Gist. Genesis 27:2-4, 27-29. Ephesians 6:1-3. - Through Priestly Blessings
Isaiah 44:26, Numbers 6:23-27. Church Gist. Melchizedek blessed Abraham and he became possessor of heaven and earth.
So we have those through which God blesses us.
In conclusion, today is our Covenant Day of Open Doors. Please note that God’s presence is the master key to a world of open doors. Can any door be shut against God? Psalm 24:7. When you are in active partnership with Jesus, you have the master key to a world of open doors in your hand. Church Gist. God was in the midst of Israel, the sea saw them and it fled. Impregnable doors! You enjoy automatic open doors being in active partnership with Jesus. If God be for us, what door can be shut against us? Romans 8:31.
What then must we do to continue to enjoy open doors in the journey of life?
- Be Born Again And Remain So.
John 3:8. At new birth, Jesus comes to be resident in you. Jealously guard His presence in there. Every door will open to you on their own accord by the reason of the One who now dwells in you. Revelation 3:20. Be conscious of the presence of the one that holds the key of David that opens and no man can shut on your inside. Church Gist. Approach every closed door with that consciousness and they will open to you on their own accord. It looks simple but it is powerful. ,🎶 I am not alone. In all my journey, Jesus is with me. 🎶 That is why they say he that is born of God overcomes the world by believing what their new status implies. - Continue To Walk In The Fear Of God
As Joseph did and doors began to open. Even when the enemies came on the line, doors still continued to be open. Church Gist. Joseph, what is your testimony? “I fear God” (Genesis 42:18). - Remain In Love With God
Romans 8:28. Whatever thing has not been working for your good, today the door shall open.
1 John 3:18. So there is fake love and there is genuine love. What is it that authenticates genuine love? John 14:21. Church Gist. When you walk with the consciousness of a desire to keep pleasing God by what He tells you to do, you secure His manifest presence that will clear off every closed door on your path. Psalm 24:7.
- Lay Hold Of The Right Word Concerning The Doors You Desire To See Open
God’s Word is the key to every door in your life. Matthew 16:19. Luke 11:22. Lay hold of the right Word concerning the doors you desire to see open. Church Gist. Jesus is the Living Word and He has the key of David that opens and no man shuts. Revelation 3:7. When He opens, no devil can shut the door. When you get hold of the right Word, the door must open. How forceful are right words? Job 6:25. - Be Committed To Following His Leading
You never get stranded in life following His leadings. His leadings will always lead to testimonies. You won’t lack testimonies in your life. - Crave For Fresh Unction
Don’t allow your oil to go stale. Crave for fresh unction. Psalm 89:20-24. Anyone behind the closed doors of your life, under the anointing, they come under God’s judgement. Isaiah 45:1-3. Fresh anointing opens impossible doors. Wake up in the morning and say ‘Lord, anoint me afresh today for the battles that may line up today. Anoint me to see impossible doors open.’ What you don’t ask, you don’t have. How much will God give the Holy Ghost to them that ask Him? So it is a thing to ask and you find doors opening to you on their own accord. Crave for fresh oil. Psalm 92:10-15. It takes fresh oil to keep your enemies under your feet. Please know the place of the fresh oil. We are going on a journey of the Holy Spirit in the month of May, connect to it. It is not speaking in tongues that marks the end. It is your registration in the School of the Spirit, you now start growing in it. There is power. There is great power and there is exceeding great power. There is no end to it. Seek fresh oil. Church Gist. Don’t watch your oil grow stale, the engine may knock. We don’t change oil in the car because it has finished, we change it because it has lost its viscosity and we need to put in a new one to preserve the engine. Believe in seeking fresh oil. Don’t watch doors close against you. - Enter Into A Covenant To Keep Serving God And The Interests Of His Kingdom As A Lifestyle
He will give you rest roundabout. All doors will stay open on their own accord. Rest roundabout, that is where you are entering. Your Church has been at rest since the beginning. Church Gist. No apprehension, no palpitations, no tensions. In the name of Jesus, as we celebrate this anniversary, you will connect with that grace that will keep you going all your life.
Whatever door cannot be shut against Jesus, can never be shut against me walking with Jesus. Church Gist. Lift your two hands and receive that grace for His ever-abiding presence that keeps all doors open to you on their own accord.
- You belong to an open door spiritual family, no door ever gets closed against this Church, therefore no door gets closed against you anymore.
- Whatever door may have been shut against you, I decree them under this anointing, reopened to you.
- For every closed door, I decree the release of seven new doors.
- What has never happened before, you have never heard, you have never read, shall be the kind of happenings in your life.
- Whatever way anyone may have locked the door against himself through pride, arrogance and whatever, I plead for mercy.
- Some spouses close the door against their peaceful marriage, I plead for mercy.
To be in this Church and be beating your wife is an insult. It is an insult on the integrity of the Word we teach here. For your wife to keep shouting at you and calling you all kinds of names is an insult. We have left that place for the longest time. I have taught with all my passion by the light I got from God. To still be doing that now, you are the one shutting the door against your peace and not knowingly against your children. Church Gist. They see the abuse and they say, is this a human being? Is this Church? What am I going to Church for? In those days many pastor’s children do not go to Church because the life they live at home does not attract the children to go to church. “You are going to Church? You can go. I saw you beating my mother yesterday and now you want to go to Church and be shouting praise the Lord. No! I hate hypocrisy.” That is why. It is not the devil, it is their lives. - Grace to represent the gospel of Jesus in your lifestyle, receive it now.
- Whatever door pride has shut against you in your business and career, may the mercy of God prevail.
- May you learn from it from now.
Anything you pilfer either from the government or a private company or from your family, any pilfering is iniquity. Church Gist. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the thief. - Grace to stay clean from whatever is not yours, receive it right now.
Abraham never took bribes. Never! “I will not take a thing from you lest you say you made Abraham rich.” - Whatever attracts you to what does not belong to you legitimately, in the name of the Lord Jesus, grace to look away and reject, receive it now.
Joseph had all the room to loot Potiphar’s house, but he never did. Daniel was a faithful man and there was nothing wrong with him. He prospered till the end. Maybe you are an apprentice somewhere, stop cheating on your master. Church Gist. Stop! You sell something 5 million, don’t call it 4.5. 500 thousand can keep you struggling for life. Stop it. Obedience may be costly but the end result is priceless. This ministry has never cheated on one person, they have cheated on us severally. Not one person! We have never made an agreement with someone and rescinded. Please stay true. Scriptures cannot be broken. - In the precious name of Jesus Christ, the week beginning today is declared your era of open doors.
- For everyone serving God in this Church, this is declared your year of favour.
Put your right hand on your head.
- In the precious name of Jesus, wherever your name rings favour will answer.
- Wherever you appear again in life, favour will appear before you.
- No more misfortunes anymore in your life.
