Oppressed is a Mount Zion film released in 2016. The movie revolves around a young, intelligent and beautiful lady known as Naomi who was abandoned by her mother. She lived with her father, Bayonle Williams, who got married again to a woman who practically maltreated and oppressed her. The maltreatment was severe that she always cried, wishing her biological mother was around to care for her. Even though Naomi grew up without the love of a mother, her father did well to give her a good upbringing.
She gained admission to the University and went partying with her friends, where she was almost raped. The traumatic experience made her give her life to Christ. She met Lily, a friend who was a drug addict. Through Naomi, Lily gave her life to Christ and became her best friend. Unknowingly to Naomi, Lily was her biological sister whose mother got pregnant with Naomi while she was in the University, left the baby for Bayo; Naomi’s father and absconded. Naomi’s wish of meeting her mum finally came true. .
The very convincing act was put together by the following stars: Ayobami Olakunle, Aanu Kolade, Tina Fawole, Elizabeth Solademi, Deola Salako, Segun Coker, Matthew Bamidele, Bola Adepoju, Taiwo Adebayo, Tobi Adepoju and so on. It was written by Bright Oluwagbemi and Directed by Bright Adepoju.
The movie is a must watch for every believer, providing a beacon of hope to those who grew up without the love of their parents or are being maltreated by a stepfather, stepmother or any family member. The movie is proof that God is still in the business of orchestrating events towards good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
