10th June 1859: Smith Wigglesworth is born. A former plumber who traveled the World preaching the Gospel. He was among the key early preachers of Pentecostalism. He passed on to glory aged 88.

10th June 1952: Bishop Peace Okonkwo is born. She is the Resident Pastor of the Cathedral of His Glory, Headquarters of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) and wife of Dr. Mike Okonkwo, the Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission. She is also the Proprietress of the Word of Power Group of Schools.

10th June 1920: Ruth McCue Bell Graham is born in Qingjiang, Jiangsu, Republic of China. She was the wife of Evangelist Billy Graham and an American Christian author. She passed on to glory aged 87.

10th June 1921: American hymn writer, Edwin Othello Excell goes to be with the Lord. He was a publisher, composer and singer. He wrote over 2,000 Gospel songs. His popular hymn is: “Since I Have Been Redeemed.” He added the tunes to Johnson Oatman Jr’s popular hymn “Count Your Blessings” and Nellie Talbot’s “I’ll Be a Sunbeam.” He was aged 70.

10th June 1854: James Augustine Healy is ordained the first African-American priest in Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. In 1875, he became the first African-American Bishop in the Roman Catholic Church.
