16 July, 1977: The Encounter of Bishop David Oyedepo on the 3rd day of a 3-day mission to Imo Hill in Ilesha, studying the book of Ezekiel. God said to him: “My Son David, behold I have touched your tongue with a coal of fire and from henceforth, as you say it, you will see it.” – placing authority on his tongue.

16th July, 1995: Pastor David Ibiyeomie encounters Christ (was born again). He attended full time Bible School in the Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI), an arm of David Oyedepo’s Ministries in October, 1995. Pastor David Ibiyeomie is the presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries (Home of Success).

16th July, 2021: Evangelist Lawrence and Darasimi Oyor welcome first child, Elijah Lawrence Oyor.

16 July, 2009: Most Reverend Dr. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye is enthroned as the first Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Osun North East at Cathedral Church of St. Philip’s, Otan Ayegbaju. Olumakaiye was elected Bishop on 22 May, 2009 at the age of 40 and consecrated Bishop on 12 July, 2009 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

16th July, 2013: Kim Walker-Smith and her husband, Skyler, release “Home”, their first album together. Kim Walker-Smith is an American Gospel Artiste,  Songwriter and Worship Leader. She is best known as the Worship Leader of the Jesus Culture band and a Worship Pastor at Bethel Church in Redding, California.

16 July, 1931: Missionary Charles Thomas Studd, one of the famous “Cambridge Seven” and evangelist to China, India, and Africa, passed on to glory. The Cambridge Seven were 6 students from Cambridge University and one from the Royal Military Academy, who in 1885, decided to become missionaries to China through the China Inland Mission.
