Psalms 3:8
1) THE most authentic measure of true spirituality is proven dedication to God
- When a person’s dedication can be proven, we can confirm that this person is truly spiritual
2) Dedication to God sets a life apart from others – both in time and in eternity (Malachi 3:17)
- When you are dedicated to God, your life can’t be the same as others’
- Your dedication to God sets you apart from your world
3) Dedication to God is a quality that can never be ignored
- Dedication cannot be ignored by men, demons or the forces of hell
- Everyone knows dedication to God – angels, demons, God, your friends, your enemies, your colleagues and the devil know if you are truly dedicated to God
WHAT IS DEDICATION?
1) It is a heart that follows hard after God (Psalms 63:8)
- A heart that pants helplessly after God
2) It is a life that is sold out to God (1Corinthians 6:20)
- You are literally beside yourself for God
- You are literally owned by God
3) It is a life that is invested or ‘wasted’ on God
- It is an investment but the world thinks it is a waste
- Your life’s time, energy and resources are directed towards God and His purpose on the Earth
SUMMARIES OF DEDICATION
1) Addiction
- That means you can’t do without God
2) Consecration
- That means you are separated unto God
3) Devotion
- Being committed to God
4) Submission
- Being absolutely surrendered to God
5) Donation
- That means you don’t have claim on your life or on anything you have
6) Affection
- That means God has conquered your heart
PROOFS OF LOVE FOR GOD
1) LOVE for His person and presence (Psalms 63:1-2; Psalms 63:8)
2) LOVE for His company in prayer (Genesis 19:27; Mark 1:35)
- Anybody who doesn’t like to pray and spend time with God can’t claim to be dedicated to God
3) LOVE for His Word (Psalms 119:159; John 14:15; Jeremiah 15:16)
4) LOVE for His House (Psalms 122:1; Hebrews 10:25)
5) LOVE for souls (the lost) (John 15:16; John 4:35)
- You will love to win souls, you will love to touch lives, you love to change lives and change destinies. ChurchGist
6) LOVE for His people (John 13:34-35)
- You can’t love God and hate your brother or sister
- If you love God, you will love your co-departmental brother and you will love your fellow sister
7) LOVE to defend His cause (1Kings 17:1)
YOU will love to give to His cause (2Corinthians 8:2-4)
- There is no love without giving
- The love for God and dedication to God shows in every respect it can’t be hidden (Daniel 6:4-5)
- The Holy Spirit is a major instrument for the establishment of love for God (Romans 5:5)
I welcome you to this season of dedication to God, that is going to demarcate you, going to differentiate you and show your contemporaries and the world that you serve a God that is real! ChurchGist.
