IT WAS MY ENCOUNTER IN GOD’s PRESENCE THAT BIRTHED THE SONGS WE ARE RELEASING TODAY.
I HAD NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE WHEN I STARTED RECEIVING SONGS FROM HEAVEN.
I STARTED CRAVING FOR GOD’s PRESENCE AT AN EARLY AGE.
THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS THE MOST FERTILE GROUND FOR THE GERMINATION OF HUMAN POTENTIALS.
DAVID STOOD OUT IN THE BIBLE BECAUSE HE WAS A MAN WHO ALWAYS CRAVED FOR GOD’s PRESENCE.
YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF BECOMING UNTIL YOU TARRY WITH GOD.
MANY OF US ARE SO BUSY WITH MINISTERIAL ACTIVITIES THAT WE HAVE NO TIME TO SPEND WITH GOD.

THE GLORY OF HIS PRESENCE Part 2
Exodus 33:13-15. The glory of His presence. What is the weight of His presence? What is the impact of His presence? Yesterday we saw that the most valuable asset of mortal man is the presence of God. We saw the lives of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Isaiah, Peter and Paul the Apostle. Church Gist. Today we will be looking at what is the glory of that presence. That is, when I encounter God’s presence, What glory am I expecting? What is the glory located in that presence?
- The glory of revelational light.
Psalm 89:15. The countenance of God carries light. The presence of God carries light. Every time you step into his presence, you are stepping into light. Isaiah 60:1. Church Gist. Listen to me, my brothers and sisters. When I step into light, I step into his presence. What does the light of his presence do? Three things this light will address:
i.) The light of His presence unveils and reveals man.
It unveils and reveals you to you. Many times we don’t really know who we are, we don’t really know what we are until we access His presence. The light of His presence reveals you to you. He introduces you to you. You see yourself as you really are. Church Gist. Your nothingness and helplessness are exposed and if possible, your unrighteousness is exposed. Until you know who you have been or what you have been, you are not qualified to become what you want to become.
I am going to start with the example of Jacob. Jacob was a strong-willed person, he considered himself strong and unbeatable. He considered himself cunny and wise until he encountered the presence of God in Genesis 32:24-28. This was the first time Jacob was accepting who he was. 21 years ago, he was asked who are you? He said he was Esau. Church Gist. He carried an identity that was not his for 21 years. He moved as another person for 21 years. When God asked him for the second time, ‘You are in my presence now and I am here to unveil you to you, who are you?’ “I am Jacob. I am a conman. I am a fraudster.’ Jacob means swindler. This is who I really am. God said ‘Now that you have accepted that this is who you are. I want to let you know that you are not actually who you think you are. You are someone else. You are neither Esau nor Jacob. This strong man, nobody ever beat him. He confronted Esau, he dwelt with Esau. He took Esau’s birthright. He duped and manipulated Laban. Maybe spiritually or whatever it was. Church Gist. He handled Laban until everything Laban had was emptied because he was strong. But in the presence of the Lord, God weakened him. He touched that strength. This hamstring muscle, the one that makes us stand straight and not walk like dogs. God touched that muscle and weakened him. He revealed his weakness and emptiness to him. When God was through with him like that, He said “Now, I can do something with your life.”
Many people think they are something because they haven’t seen God. Many people think they have an estimation of over-importance in their own lives because they have never met God. Every time you see God, your strength becomes swallowed in His power. Church Gist. Your dignity becomes swallowed up in His glory and before God can do anything meaningful with any mortal man, he must bring that man to a point where they realize that they are nothing and they have been nothing without Him.
That was what happened to our second example Isaiah. Isaiah 6:1-6. For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. When you see people with raised shoulders and a high level of arrogance and ostentation, you cannot define who pastors them, who tutors them, who mentors them, they are alpha and omega. They speak with an authority of finality. They are just there. You can’t trace their history but they just happened. When you see people who talk to you as if they know every single thing that is to be known and you really know nothing, these are people who have not seen God. They haven’t met God. They haven’t encountered God. If you have really encountered God, there are some encounters that are too heavy to talk about. Isaiah said ‘For my eyes have seen… Before I saw God I could behave anyhow but now that my eyes have seen God, I want to confirm to you that I am not who I thought I was nor am I who you thought I was. Church Gist. In Isaiah Chapters 1-5, he was prophesying. He was talking Woe to everybody. He was the prophet in charge of the day. He was the authoritative prophet of the time until he met God and the woes turned back to himself. ‘Woe is me, I am not really who I said I was. Lord, I am sorry. I haven’t seen your glory before. I had not encountered your presence, that was why I thought I was something.’
When you see His (God’s) Almightiness, you will be convinced of your nothingness. Every time you encounter His (God’s) Almightiness, your nothingness will become obvious. When you encounter His (God’s) holiness, your unrighteousness will be clear to you. If it is not yet clear, it’s because you haven’t seen Him. And I believe that for many people here today… And this is not a judgmental or a condemnation preaching, this is therapeutic because nothing can be healed until something has been diagnosed. There are many who are eager and struggling to be mighty, to be useful in the hands of God but God is saying: “I still want to cleanse you, I want to prepare you.” You know what Isaiah said: “I am undone!” ‘I am undone’ means: I am uncooked. Church Gist. Isaiah 6:5. It means I have been unprocessed, I have not been well processed. Alright! I have just been ministering without process, I stepped out of process. There are many people today who are doing many things outside of God’s process. God says I have a process for you. I want to process you. It’s like going from kindergarten and you want to go to the university without process. That was Isaiah. He saw his nakedness, he saw his sinfulness, he saw his unrighteousness when he met God. It is important for God to reveal you to you so that whenever, it doesn’t matter where you get to in life, your shoulders are down. That is as far as humility is concerned, your chest can be out in boldness against the devil but in humility, in submission; you look around you, there’s nothing for which you can glory because you know yourself. You know who you would have been minus God, you know your potential, you know your proclivities, you know your tendencies.
Our third example was Paul the Apostle and I’m sure you remember that – Powerful Paul, the Apostle; unstoppable Paul, the mighty persecutor of the Church. He continued in such a journey. When they were stoning Stephen, he motivated the people, gathered the cloth of Stephen while he watched them stone him to death. After Stephen was killed, he was on his journey on the way to Damascus in Acts 9:1. As far as he was concerned, he was doing the work of the Lord. He was breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priests. Suddenly, on that Road to Damascus, he encountered the glory of His presence. He encountered a light that interrupted his journey. Church Gist. For the first time, Paul called someone: Lord! ‘Who are you, Lord’? Acts 9:5-9. This was the processing of Saul of Tarsus to become Paul the Apostle. He came to the point of zero, of complete helplessness. The Man, this strong man, this powerful man opened his eyes and he saw nothing. You know? At that time, the only thing he could see was insight. Do you understand? Before God will ever make you to have a vision that is big for the World, He will want you to see insight first. Inward vision, introspection! Inward vision precedes outward vision. Saul could not see for three days; no food, no water. All that he was seeing around that time was himself. So what have I been doing with my life? What have I been pursuing? What direction have I been following? He ate no food, he drank no water. At that season of himself, I believe that God was revealing Paul to Paul. And when God was through with Saul of Tarsus and Saul knew who He was and he realized that his life was helpless and useless minus God, that the power he thought he had was no power, that was when God picked him up. If there’s someone here today and the only success that is recorded in this program is: ‘Lord! Reveal You to me! Reveal my tendencies to me! Reveal my possibility, the things that I am capable of doing, reveal them to me’.
You know? When God was judging the House of Rehoboam, He said: ‘I will wipe out everybody out of the House of Rehoboam’ but there was a little baby that was born, He said: ‘Only him will I spare for in him I have seen some good things towards the Lord’. And I’m asking: How can you see? How? A boy that has not grown, that has not behaved, how do you know? God knew the end from the beginning. What you will do tomorrow that you have not yet done, God is aware! If God gives you a billion pounds or dollars, how you will behave, He’s aware now. If God gives you the kind of anointing you’re asking about, the kind of anointing that Jeffrey brothers walked in, the kind of anointing of Smith Wigglesworth, raising the dead at will almost. Church Gist. If God gave you that kind of anointing, He knows what you will do with it, so He knows it from now. That was why He said: Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated – The children were still yet in the womb, none had behaved or misbehaved. But He knew that Esau was going to sell the whole of the Lineage, the whole of that Covenant, he would sell it if he got food. And He said: That is not a man to hand over anything meaningful to. There’s somebody who asked God: ‘Set me now… Show me, me. The me that I have not even yet become, show it to me, my tendencies, show me, how I will misbehave in the future. If You’re going to do something important in my life. Show it to me today and deal with it’. That was how He dealt with Jacob, He dealt with Isaiah and He dealt with Paul, the Apostle.
-I prophesy to somebody here today, God will reveal you to you. If you’re saying Amen, say a loud Amen.
Lift your right hand and say: Father! I am available for Your revelation of myself to myself. Church Gist. I am available, show me who I am. Show me what I am capable of doing that I have not yet done. Show me oh Lord! Show me myself Oh Lord! In the name of Jesus!
One day I was in a Worship and Wonders Night and a young man was praying in tongues. While he was praying in tongues, it was as if I was hearing in English what he was saying. So I walked to him and I said: ‘This is what you’re saying, you’re repeating this and saying: ‘God…’ I can’t remember what it was, ‘Help me! I’m sorry, I’m tired’! And so on, he was talking like that. So I prayed for him. When I finished praying for him, I said: ‘God is about to change your story! massive! Be faithful in the practice of the Covenant! God said you should be faithful in tithing! Be faithful in tithing! I was talking to him right in that Worship and Wonders Night in Area One Church. He left! I never heard from him again until about four or five weeks ago, he came with his wife, he said: God changed his story, millions! Money came! He said it wasn’t a year, it was weeks or something, ‘paam’, story changed!! He said but the exact thing I told him, he did the opposite! ‘Be faithful’!! Just be faithful! Because it was being emphasized; because God knew he wouldn’t be faithful. Church Gist. He said he stepped into business, running into millions and also right now he’s in debt in millions. He said he’s struggling to come out. He said, please beg God for me to give me another chance. His wife stood by him and his wife said: I’ve been telling him, he’s not faithful, I am faithful in my own and God is blessing me. That’s his wife! Do you understand what I am saying? God knows. There are people He has left where they are because He knows what will happen with them if He changes their lives. There are people who will divorce their wives now, the way these women are talking here, they will just walk away from the marriage and just consider that they’re now too civilized for the wife or too rich or too important or too powerful or vice versa. So He just leaves them where they are. There are those, they get a little anointing, there’s no respect for any spiritual authority anymore. Oh! No! There’s no respect for no spiritual authority. Who are you? Who do you think you are?
God’s servant, my father in the Lord Bishop David Oyedepo, as big as he is in God, if you look at him today, I don’t know anybody on the Earth maybe apart from Daddy G.O. with such influence spiritually, influence over multitudes, influence financially. Till today, hands are being laid on his head, him. He goes on his knees for hand to be laid on him, till today. Church Gist. He’s about to step into a major program, hands are still laid on him. And there are those, they haven’t stepped anywhere and nobody calls them to order. Do you understand what I am talking about? And so God said: Just remain where you are and that periphery.
-But today, we’ll ask God: Reveal me to me, anything in me that has the possibility of cutting me off from where you are taking me to, arresting and detaining my destiny, reveal to me.
ii. The light comes to reveal and unveil potentials and possibilities. It reveals and unveils potentials and possibilities. What you have that is unknown to you, what you are capable of that is unknown to you, God’s glory – the light of His glory comes to unveil. When Moses encountered God, Moses had a rod in his hand and he didn’t know what that rod could or in fact, he didn’t know that the rod meant anything. Exodus 4:2. Church Gist. This was a man who carried a potential for 40 years that was misapplied. A rod that could deliver a nation was used to tend the flock until God opened his eyes. When he dropped the rod, it was a snake, a very deadly instrument – instrument of judgment. He ran from it.
Many of us…I tell people, I said “the presence of God is the most fertile ground for the germination of human potentials.” The presence of God! No motivational teacher can teach you and bring potentials out of you and bring your content out of you. The presence of God is the fertile ground for the germination of human potentials, gift and calling. Church Gist. You don’t know who you are. You don’t know what you are capable of becoming until you tarry with Him, until you spend time with Him. Hallelujah! Somebody say Amen!
Many of us, we are so busy. We are so active on the job – 9 (a.m) to 5 (pm). We are so active in ministry working for Him. We have no time to spend with Him. So the rod remains unrevealed.
- Whatever that is, it will end and you will hear the Message!
Even as I speak right now, there are people here with unrevealed rods, unrevealed capabilities, potentials, graces, giftings. Am I communicating at all? Church Gist. And Moses for 40 solid years, he used this thing (the rod) differently but there was the destiny of a nation in his hands and he was not aware until he went to the back side of the desert and experienced God. Hallelujah!
I know the systems (the sound system) are clashing somewhere (but) like they used to say in Nigeria ‘na lie oo.’ It’s a lie, it must work. Church Gist. This system must work. It must work because your rod must be released!
- The rod must be unveiled!
- The potential must be unveiled!
- The rod must be unveiled!
What is it that makes you think that the most deployed person in the Old Testament in terms of human potential, what makes you think that it was David? What made David the most deployed in terms of human potential deployment? We have the office of the Apostle, the office of Prophet, the office of Evangelist, the office of the Pastor, the office of the Teacher in the New Testament along with other offices and we have the office of a king, a priest, a prophet in the Old Testament and David was all of it. Church Gist. He was a king, he was a priest, he was a prophet. ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand until I make your enemies…’ He was a messianic prophet even. He was seeing across thousands of years, seeing all the way to the time of Jesus. Then you shift from there, he was a musician like these people (referring to the choristers). He was a singer. He was a choir director. He was a songwriter (the Psalms). He was an inventor of music equipment. He invented music equipment. He was a fighter, he was a military general. He was a human developer – he carried frustrated people and turned them into the mighty men of David. He was a shepherd. He was a giant killer. One man with one life. You know what he said? “One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in His Temple.” Psalm 27:4, Psalm 63:1-2, Psalm 42:1. That was a man lost in God. That was a man lost in God’s presence. So everything that he carried on the inside that was a potential on the inside of him exploded.
We are too addicted to the presence of men and too addicted to activity. So the things we carry, most of it don’t come out. My sister is here (my senior sister is here) who in the late 70’s, we prayed together and went to fellowship together (1979 – that kind of a time). As I grew up, I knew for one that almost everybody around me (well many people around me), they had giftings that I thought I didn’t have. I have brothers that as you are praying, they are seeing visions clearly – ‘and I saw this and I saw that’…my sister also and then prayer partners and so on but I saw nothing at that time. No matter how I closed my eyes, I saw nothing. Church Gist. If I would use super glue or anything to close my eyes, I (would see) nothing. But all I knew was that I had passion for God. All I knew was that I had fire for God. All I knew was that I wanted to tarry with God. I could pray for 7 hours non stop for 7 days at a stretch and more. I could do all of that, I will be soaking…
While studying Medicine, worship was in the background of my readings. If I read for 5 hours then, the Hosanna Integrity and all of that would be playing in the background. I was worshipping, tonguing and reading. I knew that I was hooked to God’s presence. The first thing I saw in my life was passion for souls so I went out like an evangelist. Then I thought I would practice full time Medicine and then just go on invitations if I was invited until I was called to pastor. So, I saw the pastoral coming and then of course, God began to help in ‘very very’ deep teaching that began to come and lives were touched and changed. Before you knew it, things were happening at the frequency of the apostolic and then, one man came to me one day. He wanted to talk to me (I think he was maybe like an European man that has Isrealine roots). Church Gist. He sat in front of me (and) he wanted to talk to me and everything he wanted to talk to me, God spoke…I heard it and literally saw it before he opened his mouth. So when he started talking, I was nodding my head. He thought that I was nodding my head to what he was saying. I was nodding my head – okay, what you are saying, I heard it before. And God began to show me things.
One day, I was lying on the floor and worshipping. The next thing I saw, I was hearing sound from the ground, everything was worship – from up, from down, from everywhere and all of a sudden, I heard “you are in the Throne Room.” Wow! I was hearing familiar tones of W. Smith, of Terry MacAlmon. I said, really? So this is where these songs came from.” Then I knew that there are songs on Earth that came from there. Church Gist. The people only heard it. I had no musical skill, I never played any instrument – not at all. I knew that when I was aged 9, my junior brother was aged 7, we gave our names in Methodist Church that we wanted to render a special number. (Laughs) We wanted to sing special ministration. (Laughs) We had not sung anywhere before neither…now if you ask me, what did we sing now? I can’t tell. I don’t know the song, I can’t remember the song. No matter what you do to me now, I can’t remember what we sang. But all I knew was that people were clapping. Maybe we entertained them with how much voice we didn’t have.
All of a sudden, one by one, things began to come out. Worship songs after worship songs. A time will come that if I were to remain with God, I could receive ten in one day. That is the frequency of… I had to deliberately pause. That is, I deliberately like, switched off. You know why? Because the songs were so many. We couldn’t release them, we couldn’t push them out and there was a risk of people taking them. Church Gist. In fact, recently, they attributed one to somebody. Yes. Until we had to say no, that’s not…the person had sang it on YouTube about 2 or 3 years ago but he forgot to write it as a cover and we had not released the song yet officially. Do you understand? So that had to be paused. Songs were coming at the frequency of fire, inspiration – all manner (these things!)
I had a reunion with my classmates last Sunday – those who knew me like 40-something years ago from secondary school and many of them were wondering how these things came about. One of them said, please let us introduce ourselves by our nicknames of secondary school. My own was not good. He was pulling my legs, that particular one. So they said, no we cannot. Church Gist. Nobody knew that anything like that was there but all of a sudden, it is coming out one after another by your determination to tarry in God’s presence. Beloved, there is something inside you. I came all the way from Abuja in Nigeria to trust God to unveil the rod in your hands. To unveil the potentials of your life. There is a rod in your hands and God will unveil it now. The light of His presence comes to reveal potentials and possibilities.
If you saw that in the life of Moses, the next person who has a potential unveiled was Gideon. Judges 6:11-14. He was threshing wheat by the winepress. You don’t thresh wheat by the winepress. Wheat is threshed at the barn floor. Wine is threshed by the winepress. You don’t carry your suit to the car mechanic. You don’t go to the hair stylist when you have a dental problem. He was in a toxic confusional state with anxiety and perplexity. He was in hiding and the angel of the Lord met him in his hiding place. He said, “What are you doing here, mighty man of valour? The destiny of this nation is upon you, it is because you have failed to show up that the Midianites are afflicting your people.” Church Gist. Somebody here today, if you don’t show up many will go down. If you don’t show up spiritually, if you don’t show up with the mantle, if you don’t show up financially, if you don’t show up in grace. If you don’t show up, people will go down. This is what I think Gideon will say, ‘We used to hear of Moses and his miracles. We used to hear about Elijah, where is Moses? Where is Elijah?’ It is like some of us are saying. People like Smith Wigglesworth passed through here. People like Evan Roberts in Wales, people like Charles Spurgeon, John Wesley, Charles Wesley, George Whitfield, William Booth, all of them passed through this land. Where are their miracles? Do you know what God said when he asked about the miracles of this and that? He didn’t answer him. He said, “You, go in this your might.” Do you know the meaning of that? The person you are waiting for is yourself. You are the Smith Wigglesworth you have been talking about. You are the John G. Lake you have been talking about. You are the Aimee Semple McPherson, you are the Kathryn Kuhlman, you are the John D. Rockefeller, you have been referring to. When you are saying where are all these people, God is saying you are the one you have been looking for and the time you are waiting for it now. The person you are looking for is you.
I will show you that before we close this morning. ‘You are aware that I moved like this in time passed? In the light of this light, move with might.’ And he moved. God sent me all the way from Nigeria to England to tell you and those who flew from Canada, from America and from everywhere, to let you know that first there is a rod in your hand and after this convention, the potential of the rod will manifest. Church Gist. Secondly, there is a might in your life. The prayer you have been praying, the revival you have been praying for, that prayer you have been praying, yourself! You are the answer.
Matthew 9:37-10:1. He called the same people that He asked to pray for labourers and sent them. That is your prayers are answered. In every area you have passion, in that area you have portion. If God put the passion of a thing in your heart, passion for revival, passion for financial explosion of the Kingdom, passion for increase. One of our members told me, “I am expecting a job when the job comes, all the profit from it will be used to buy an evangelism plane for the ministry.” I told him that it was done. I am not touching anything from it in the form of let me pay tithe and all that. Everything that comes out of it will be used to buy a plane for the Crusades. I told him it was done. Church Gist. Before we came, he told me how he got two jobs and what will come out of those two jobs is almost enough to achieve that vision. Inside your passion is your portion. You are the answer to the prayer you are praying. So we are in the first chapter of a very massive revival. We have been talking about revival, we are inside it right now. I announce to you today, you are shifting in levels and dimensions.
Was that not what happened to Joseph? Pharaoh, find yourself a man who is discreet, wise and can gather food in seven years of plenty against the seven years of famine so that the land does not perish. Church Gist. Pharaoh looked at him and said, what are you talking about? I should go and look for another man and you have such a solution? You have the passion to pray for revival and you are asking me to go and look for somebody else to fulfill the passion in your heart.
Do you know what happened to me? I will tell you. A few years ago, I was going to record a song. I have a witness here. I love deep worship, so I wanted to do a cover for As The Deer Pants For The Water Brook, So My Soul Longs After You. So I asked him to look for who owns the song. He searched and searched and I think the owner of the song is dead. So they contacted us… They connected us with some people who said if we want to record the song… Maybe we contacted the wrong people because I don’t know if a genuine person will do that. Church Gist. They asked how many copies of CDs are we going to print. We said 10,000 copies. They said we should pay 5,000 or 10,000 dollars. That is like royalties or whatever. I said no problem, we are going to play. I asked, supposing the first set of CDs is exhausted and we want to reprint, can we go ahead and reprint? They said no. We should return back to them for renegotiation. At that point, I said Okay. They shouldn’t worry. I went before God. That was before any song came. The first deep song arrived. Another one. Then it began to flow like tap water. Two passions! The first one was that I wanted to record a song, I was not interested in making money. I have not gotten the first ₦1 from any tape or any book or anything since we started ministry. I said Lord, you know my motive and then I said if we want to sing deep songs like Rock of Ages Cleft For Me. Before you can find CDs that you can worship with today, it is very rare. I said Lord, why is it that we have to go 300 years back before we really find deep songs? And God said you know what? Church Gist. I will use you as an answer, I’ll begin to give you some songs that people can worship, they will weep, they will cry, cancers will die. People have been resurrected from the songs, cancers have died from the songs. All manners!
I said all that in order to make you understand that if there is a passion in you, there is a portion for you in that passion. That prayer you have been praying, you’re the answer. The time you are waiting for is now! Many of the things I was trusting God to use people to do for our ministry, God used me to do the things – many! One day, I said we want a crusade motor house for going to rural villages and so on. When we go and there’s no hotel to stay and no this or that, we can sleep inside it. Mention! Many many things I was talking, all the things that I mentioned at that time, we have already done all of them. Church Gist. There are some we haven’t mentioned and we may not mention. We have already done all of them! So, God is waiting on you, you say: You’re waiting on God, He’s saying, He’s waiting on you! Give the Lord a praise and take your seat! And even though the room is endless, in terms of, for example, who said that the Glory Dome cannot be reproduced a hundred places on the Earth. One in the U.K. (United Kingdom), one in Houston, one in South America, one everywhere! Just reproduce everywhere! A 100,000 seater auditorium, 75,000, 100,000 around the World; where any day we want, we step in, hold any meeting we want for any length of time without any form of restriction.
-And you’re the one God is waiting for!
The third example was Peter! He thought he was a fisherman until God unveiled to him that: You’re beyond a fisherman. Luke 5:6-10. You thought you were a fisherman, you thought I only… This may be very serious for somebody. You’re asking God for a major financial blessing, He’s saying that He’s going to give you that major financial blessing plus a shift in ministerial impact. Peter thought that his life was all about fishing, he never knew there was more to his life until he encountered the Master. My dear brothers, my dear sister, there is more to your life. Hallelujah! Peter, there is more to your life. See what we do to ourselves, we’re running everywhere!! No time to be with Him. Church Gist. You know why some pastors expire while they’re still alive? God has more for them but they have no time to go before God. And God unveils vision and potentials in stages, you’re faithful with this level, He moves you to the other level. You know why some music ministers expire while they’re still there? They blow up too soon, it’s just too soon and they have no time with God anymore. No time of prayer, no time of intimacy. No time to receive anything fresh! Before you know it: ‘Oh in those days when he ministers like this, people will be weeping’. During one of our conferences, my children said: ‘What’? When they saw a particular person, they said: We remember this person, when he ministered, tears were flowing from the eyes. What happened? The same songs, no oil! Just like Samson, the same move, he moved like as other times, no power!
- That will not be your portion!
Dear brethren, God said I brought you to Glory Conference to reveal the rod in your hand, to reveal the might inside you and to reveal the you that you don’t know – Both negative and positive. Church Gist. The things that are inside you that must be dealt with that you’re not aware (of). And what He wants you to become, the potentials in your hands that you don’t know anything about.
iii. Finally, the Light of His presence arrives to unveil and reveal a person to their generation. When God shines His light on you, the Light of His presence, the Light of His glory. First of all, that Light shows you those negative things in your life that are not meant to be there. Church Gist. Then the Light shows you the potentials you carry, the things that are inside you that you’re not aware of and then this Light comes to say: You know what? There is a man you people don’t know, there is a daughter of mine you people don’t know about, I want to shine the Light upon him. And I want you to see him. ‘This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased’ – I want to advertise Him to you. This Light comes to take off the cover.
Somebody say: Take the cover off!
Roman 8:19. The light comes to take off the cover!! Many people have been under cover. When I was in medical school, I was under cover. And I was under cover for years. Even when the cover was taken at some level I was still under cover. I had so much passion in my heart that in second-year medicine I would go, after I’ve prayed for one to three hours before 8 a.m. in the morning and go for lectures. By twelve to one in the afternoon, I was down with burden again and I’m praying behind the Lab – Physiology Laboratory. And I was praying and I saw a man, a young man there; he was in 300-level medical school and he came to pray too. And I went close to him and we began to share, by the time I shared something little with him, he exploded in tongues and he just became… So he said to me, I am the President of the Christian Medical Students’ Fellowship, can you please come and share with the whole fellowship this thing (that) you’re sharing with me? Church Gist. So I went and I shared with him. The first day I shared in the Medical Students’ Fellowship, I finished, I was standing where I was standing like this and by the time I finished preaching and talking, almost everybody was on the floor, on the ground, speaking from here; power everywhere. And they began to ask each other, where did this guest minister… What ministry is he the pastor of, in town? Unknowingly to them, he was an undercover minister in 200-level medical school. But that undercover kind of operation still continued for a while until God took the cover off. Is God speaking to someone here at all? The best person to advertise you to your generation is God. The best person to introduce you to your nation, to your generation is God. There are many who try to introduce themselves, they try to advertise themselves, they try to present themselves but it’s just a struggle, it’s just a lot of gimmicks, it’s just a lot of technology and technique.
Let me show you how God introduced two people and then we rise shortly and pray:
- Joseph carried the presence of God in Genesis 39:2-3. ‘And the Master saw…’ That’s God that made the Master to see that this Man is not an ordinary man that the Lord was with him. ‘The Master saw’. God advertised him, He placed a stamp on Joseph until Joseph’s Master saw God’s presence with Joseph. A stamp! Something! There is something different about this Man. Genesis 39:3. There is a stamping of God’s presence that has advertisement value. A stamp! I’ve been everywhere! New Jersey, even Wembley here, I told you the story. Thank God we’re in Wembley here. This is the Wembley area when we came many years ago. A young lady in a hotel nearby when we went at the reception. Who? Yes! You were with us. That’s right! You were with us at that time. Church Gist. That’s right! Oh my God! Thank God for witnesses here today. And this young lady looked at me, she’s from North Africa, Arabian not of our religion and she said to me: ‘Please sit down Pastor’, she said: ‘What you have I want it’. It’s in Wembley here! And I said: ‘What is it’? She said: ‘I don’t know, what you have, I want it’! Long story made short, we finished from the reception, went and sat down in the lobby there and asked her to come. Can you repeat what you said? She said: ‘Well! What you have, I want it’! I said: ‘So what is it exactly’? She said: ‘I don’t know’. I said: ‘Okay! I have Jesus in my life’. Once I knew who she was. ‘I have Jesus in my life, I have the Holy Spirit in my life, I have the fire of God in my life, I have the anointing’. She looked at me back and said: ‘All the things you mentioned, I want all of it’! Prayed for her, led her to Christ there and handed her over.
We went to Czech Republic, how many years ago? 10 years ago. We didn’t come back shortly, we just stepped into that Country, nobody knew me from nowhere and one of the pastors there said: You are in the Country, can you just hold a program for us? I said: We were going tomorrow. What kind of program? He said: a program. How do you advertise? What publicity…? Church Gist. He said: no, they will just inform people that I am around. When we came for the program in the evening, I think my wife and myself and one or two other people were the only people of our colour – the whole place was jammed inside and outside. How did this happen? We had no advert, no publicity, nothing! When you have encountered God and His presence has a stamp on your life, He takes the cover off you – He advertises you. Genesis 39:21…that is Joseph. But the one that blew my mind was Gideon. We just read (about) Gideon now.
Now, somebody, he was standing by himself (what we saw) threshing wheat by the winepress. He said “the Lord is with you, I will use you to deliver Israel from the Midianites.” The question is ‘who?’ So where do I start from? I have not been elected as the President of the Country. I am not a priest, I am not a prophet. Nobody appointed me to be anything. You just came and met me and said ‘the Lord is with me. I should go in this my might.’ What do I…? How? Should I print handbill? Church Gist. Should I gather the elders? Should I go from community to community and say ‘look, God met me and He told me that I should become the Chief of Army Staff or Defence Chief and deliver them? How do I go about it?’ How can God meet a person and say look, ‘I want to use you to save your nation.’ See what He did in Judges 6:33-35…that is, this is somebody that nobody may have known. Nobody knew where he came from – himself was not sure of himself. All of a sudden, he becomes a king, a leader, a commander of the army that nobody appointed because Jehovah encountered him and took the cover off his life.
Don’t struggle for human appointment (speaks in tongues). Don’t struggle for human validation. Don’t struggle for human approval. All you need is the appointment of Heaven. Church Gist. All you need is the appointment of Jehovah. All you need is the announcement of God. And He took the cover (and) all of a sudden, everybody knew, this is our leader.
You know what happened? In my medical school 500 level, I have operated the way I operated and then we went for a national conference. I was the President of the Fellowship in our school – the Medical Students Fellowship and we gathered together and it was time to elect the National President of the Medical Students Fellowship of all the universities in Nigeria. It was time and then…so it was a normal election. We appointed this…so we gathered together. Church Gist. ‘So we are here for the next election’ – you know what they did? They literally just pointed in one direction. Next election – see the Person. (referring to me) He is our president, that’s the new President. This is the Person. Didn’t you people see? Can’t you see that’s the Person? Do you understand what I am talking about? Beloveth brothers and sisters, God…and the devil does not care the anointing you carry for as long as you are under covering. He doesn’t care what happens for as long as nobody is aware. The devil is happy with your obscurity but God is taking off the cover!
- There are people here today, the conclusion of the Glory Conference is the first chapter of your manifestation!
- All the things you have been seeing in your life is shadow compared with what God is about to do in your life! If you are saying Amen, say a louder Amen!
My heart became so burdened when I saw how many people traveled from different places around the World. The kind of tension I feel during Ministers’ Conference where people must not come for nothing, I feel relief. I feel a dropping of something. Church Gist. I feel that we are at the verge of things that will happen that will drag the attention of nations, attention of communities, attention of the ministry – of the business empire where you have come from. There are things that will happen.
Lift up your hands! We have about 30 minutes for the end of the Morning Session and if all we did in this Morning Session is the intensity of this Word ‘The Glory of His Presence.’ Church Gist. Who is the person who experiences God’s presence? I will introduce that and we will continue there in the Evening.
The glory of God answers to value. Value! Just the way we human beings are, you don’t have any time for anyone who does not value you. You don’t want to waste your time. You don’t want to waste your attention on anyone who does not value you. In fact, when you are greeting somebody and the person does not want to answer you, there are times when you don’t even want to waste your greeting. Do you understand what I’m saying? That is, not that you hate the person but you respect yourself too much to be taken for granted. Church Gist. The presence of God answers to value. God goes where He is valued, where He is honoured, where He is prized. We are talking more about that later in the Evening. God will never force Himself on anybody. He doesn’t force Himself on people. He does not go where He is tolerated or taken for granted. He does not go where people have other priorities more important than Him.
There are times, (I’m talking to pastors and ministers) have you ever tried to talk to somebody who is playing with their phones? If you ever value yourself, whatever you wanted to say, summarize it (conclude it); please, let them go. One young man came to me one time. He said, he just came to greet me and he came to drop something and go and I said “well, God bless you.” When I wanted to say “God bless you”, he brought out paper and pen. Church Gist. That is, in case you have anything to say. When I saw paper and pen, I had to have what to say. I began to counsel and counsel. Whatever I never planned to say that was profitable to his life, that will be beneficial…you value knowledge too much to be left to go empty handed. That was wisdom plus a passion – ‘this Man, I’m sure he is ahead of me. He knows something I don’t know. I will be privileged to get one word from him.’ I began to speak and to speak and to speak. Anytime a student is ready, the teacher is over ready. Anytime man is ready…please don’t forget this ‘God will never force Himself on you.’ We will talk more about that. He is a jealous God and He doesn’t want you to share Him with anybody.
I love my wife and she knows. She loves me and I am aware but I have never been able to interrupt with her prayer and personal communion with God no matter how desperate I am. She is on her knees, she is on her face, she is obviously in the mood of communing with God – no way! There are times, she walks into where I am praying and worshipping and I might wave while I’m still praying and if it is not such a prayer where I can’t talk to anybody at all, I will beckon on her to come and I will pat her on the back. Church Gist. That is (speaking in tongues while patting her on the back) you know what? I am in prayer, we will talk later okay? (While praying in tongues) Then she is reassured that there is no challenge and myself too, I am okay. I know God is okay with me because God is aware that I am married. Praise the Lord! Do you understand what I am saying? She never interrupts and intercepts with my prayer and my time with God.
God will not struggle with you when He perceives that you have other things in your life more important than Him whether is wife or husband. Well, that is the least – job, money, fame, popularity. Church Gist. That was why the Psalmist said, ‘one thing have I desired – one thing.’ Psalm 27:4. “There are people who are looking for many things, who have many clashing interests but God for me, it is you.”
